RACE ONE

REMEMBER RUBY (3)
is racing well and has been top 3 at 5 of her past 7. Over the 2138m trip here 2 starts back she secured running line cover off gate 3 and was strong to the line for a 7m victory. Last week she was hitting the line nicely to be 3m from the winner and from this gate can have an early look.

CROFT BAY (2) resumes from a freshen with his last start in a Band 5 final when starting from outside the 2nd line and wide off the track looking to get into the contest. 3 starts back he worked in the run when 5m from OUR HI JINX and from his best gate in some time can look to be 1st to the pegs.

WESTERN BLAZE (1) is starting to build towards a win and has been close up at each of his past 3 starts. Beaten a head when using the passing lane 3 starts back behind VILLAGE WITCH, he hit the line nicely last week when 4m from LANCELOT BROMAC. He will get a cosy run here.

WAR DAN APOLLO (10) features in a stable change and is now prepared by Darrel Graham. He has been racing well in strong races and just hasn’t had things go his way. Last week in claiming company he looked to take them all the way and set a solid tempo over the 2138m. He has podium claims.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (early leader), 3, 4
SELECTIONS:
REMEMBER RUBY (3), CROFT BAY (2), WESTERN BLAZE (1), WAR DAN APOLLO (10)
SUGGESTED BET: REMEMBER RUBY (3) to win

RACE TWO

WITHALOTOFLUCK (1) is versatile but has a brilliant finishing sprint and with an improved gate can look to sprint hard when the passing lane presents. In the heat on Tues he started from outside the front line and hit the line strongly to run CHAPTER ONE to a 1m margin. He looks to have every chance.

CHAPTER ONE (2) had little problems in holding the front in his heat from gate 1 and once in control he never really looked in danger. 4 starts back he was an all the way winner of an M0 final and then his run 2 starts back he had gear issues. Looking to find the pegs he will be looking to hang on.

ROYAL COUNSEL (12) has won 4 races in succession since arriving in Qld and was strong in her heat win when doing the work from gate 5. That followed successive wins at Redcliffe both over the sprint trip and she opened her band assessment in a mares qualifier at her 1st Qld start. Hard to knock winning form.

LANCELOT BROMAC (3) just keeps on keeping on and after another Sat night victory last week, backed up in the heats on Tues when beaten 2m behind ROYAL COUNSEL after working home from the running line. His 3rd 3 starts back behind FRANKIE ROCKS was strong and he wille be around the money again,

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1, 7
SELECTIONS:
WITHALOTOFLUCK (1), CHAPTER ONE (2), ROYAL COUNSEL (12), LANCELOT BROMAC (3)
SUGGESTED BET: WITHALOTOFLUCK (1) to win

RACE THREE

CHAL FIRE (5) has been consistent since returning from a spell and has now placed his past 5 in succession. He was hitting the line strongly here on Tues when beaten a neck after settling back in the field and that followed a late closing 2nd to TREVS NO ANGEL. He is knocking on the door and can step through here.

MAGOOGAN (3) finished 5m from GLENFERRIE BOSS here 3 starts back when settling in the running line. At his next start he pressed ahead and found the front and once in control kept them chasing to open his band assessment. Luckless last week from a wider gate, he will be right in the mix here.

GLENFERRIE BOSS (11) started from gate 7 here 3 starts back and taken back early was well back in the pack. Launching his run he hit the line strongly at the end of the 1660m and went past them for a 5m victory. Following that with a 2nd to REMEMBER RUBY he had no luck in the Rising Stars heat on Tues. This suits.

REDS JET STAR (4) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins at Redcliffe over the 1780m and then the 2040m. Her win last start was strong when sent forward from gate 5 and working in the run and putting them away. With even luck in the run, she will be in the mix.

EARLY SPEED: 1, 3,4, 5
SELECTIONS:
CHAL FIRE (5), MAGOOGAN (3), GLENFERRIE BOSS (11), REDS JET STAR (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CHAL FIRE (5) to win

RACE FOUR

THREE OF THE BEST (3) resumes from a spell and was last seen in the Qld Derby when he had no luck form gate 11 against THE MORE THE BETTER. 5 starts back he scored a strong all the way win at Menangle with a sizzling 26.3 closing panel. He has had 4 trials to sharpen, the latest a nice effort. In a great Members Cup field, he can get the job done.

PSYCHEDELIC (2) had been warming up to something with some nice performances including a fast-finishing 3rd behind MAGOOGAN. Last week in a Lady Drivers heat he put it together and burst clear at the home turn for a 22m victory in strong sectionals. He is right in this.

ELENIARK (4) will strip fitter following 1 run back from a spell where she was taken back from gate 7 and was hitting the line hard to get within a neck of THATS HOW WEROLL. A winner of the Redcliffe Oaks 5 starts back she looks to have returned in good order and can make her presence felt.

STATEMENT MADE (5) is undefeated in 4 starts for his 4YO term, having brutalised his opponents in those 4 starts. After sweeping a Gold Pot series he then was too strong over the mile before a win in a Torpedo event. He steps out to the middle distance for the 1st time this prep and just the 3rd time overall which poses a query, but must be respected.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (leader?), 1, 2, 4, 5
SELECTIONS:
THREE OF THE BEST (3), PSYCHEDELIC (2), ELENIARK (4), STATEMENT MADE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: THREE OF THE BEST (3) to win

RACE FIVE

JACK HAMMER (1) finished 3rd in a qualifier 3 starts back and may have finished closer with a little more luck when 7m from GLENFERRIE BOSS. His next start was again without much luck and then on Tues finished best for a tidy 2138m win. With the options from the gate, he looks to get his chance.

LIVING GRAND (11) has placed in 4 of his past 5 starts all in Sat night company. Last week he followed the pegs home to grab the bronze behind ANYCHANCE which followed a half-head 2nd to MAGOOGAN when closing out nicely. He gets no favours from the gate but can run another honest race to finish in the money.

OFFICIANADO (8) started from gate 10 last start over the sprint trip and was looking to close out late when making a wide run to finish 1.4m from the winner. His run 2 starts back behind GASMONKEY saw him strike trouble and with a cosy trip here will be sweating on what JACK HAMMER does at the start.

THE DUKE DOWNUNDER (9) is never far from the action and from this gate on Tues work forward early and did some work in the run when 4m from the winner SUBTLE DELIGHT. That followed a 4m margin to LUCIFERS LEGEND from gate 7. He won’t be far away from the action again here.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (early leader), 2, 3
SELECTIONS:
JACK HAMMER (1), LIVING GRAND (11), OFFICIANADO (8), THE DUKE DOWNUNDER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JACK HAMMER (1) to win

RACE SIX

AVONNOVA (4) has been in great touch this campaign and shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins over the middle distance trip. Starting from gate 1 last time out he had the power to lead and after walking the opening half ramped the tempo to zip home a 55.2 closing 800m. He looks likely to work in the run here, but that still looks achievable.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (3) has been runner-up in 3 starts back since returning from a break. Last start over the mile he pressed forward from gate 5 to find the front and set a slick tempo when only grabbed on the line and beaten a half-head by ULTIMATE ART. He can get to the pegs here and will be gripping on.

THE SHADY ONE (1) lands the ideal gate for his pattern against the FFA campaigners and will await the passing lane to unleash his sprint. Settling 1x2 last start he worked home well for the silver behind JACKAROO BROMAC and 2 back hit the line hard behind LEOS BEST. The draw is ideal.

MAJOR CAM (8) resumes from a break as he starts his latest campaign and continues on his progression. Last prep he really showed his power and closed out with successive FFA wins, the last a tough effort when breezing and running a 54.1 closing 800m. The draw makes it very tricky for him but he must be respected.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader leader), 4, 1, 2
SELECTIONS:
AVONNOVA (4), GLENFERRIE HOOD (3), THE SHADY ONE (1), MAJOR CAM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: AVONNOVA (4),

RACE SEVEN

LEOS BEST (9) will take good benefit from his return from a break when he finished strongly from back in the pack to arrive in time for a head victory. He had a shot in the Sunshine Sprint to close out his 4YO term when luckless and in this field he looks to take another step through the grades.

FEEL THE COURAGE (2) started from the 2nd line last week and was working through the last 1000m and fighting hard all the way when grabbed late by LANCELOT BROMAC. 2 starts back he had a shot for the front and created the space to angle in behind SMOOTH SHOWGIRL when 2nd to her. He is right in this.

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1) resumed in great style from a break from this same gate over the mile when having the speed to hold the front and then take them all the way. From the perfect gate once again she looks to have her chance and can fill a podium spot.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (5) will strip fitter following his return from a break when taking on a mid-week FFA. Settling back near the rear in the small field he hit the line nicely running some pleasing sectionals for his return when 5m from the winner. With even luck in transit he won’t be too far away.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (early leader), 2, 4, 5
SELECTIONS:
LEOS BEST (9), FEEL THE COURAGE (2), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1), MAFUTA VAUTIN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LEOS BEST (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

MAX RICHTER (6) was sent forward from gate 4 last week and worked hard in the run when challenging the leader and was digging in for the fight with only the late swooping MONTANA FALCON getting past. The inside power looks lighter than last week and he can press forward again and will be hard to hold out.

RUBYS BAD BOY (1) has worked his way into some form and secured successive wins with a claiming win here over the 2138m followed with a Redcliffe win over the 1780m. Using the passing lane to grab 4th last week, he lands the perfect gate for his pattern and will be attacking the line late.

OVERLAP (10) was working home strongly here 4 starts back when getting within 5m of the winner THREO to take the silver. Finishing 3rd at his next 2 when no further than 3m from the winner each time in band races, with a strong tempo he can be closing out strongly to podium.

THREO (7) has a tricky gate to overcome but has been racing well in recent starts. From gate 6 last week he was taken back early before working home wide off the track and finishing 3rd behind MONTANA FALCON. 2 starts back he was within 3m of LEOS BEST and will be in the mix.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 6
SELECTIONS:
MAX RICHTER (6), RUBYS BAD BOY (1), OVERLAP (10), THREO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MAX RICHTER (6) to win

RACE NINE

GAME WE PLAY (5) was a winner over the mile here 4 starts back when sent forward early and taking control held on to score a half-neck win. At his next start he was only beaten a neck by the smart ANYCHANCE. His run last week was solid from the 2nd line and pressing the button early can look to take control.

LORNE BEACH (3) made the most of the passing lane here 3 starts back and once angled in sprinted sharply to run past the leader and post a 3m margin. Finding the front last week he looked to take them all the way, holding on for 3rd behind the tear-away winner PSYCHEDELIC. From this gate he can feature.

YOUNG AMERICAN (12)
JACKS AT THE BEACH (6)
was a strong winner 2 starts back when sent to the front from gate 7 in a slick opening panel and then fought off the challengers to hold on for a nice win. Here on Tues he again went to the front and was grabbed on the line, beaten a half-neck. He steps up here, but can fill the exotics.

EARLY SPEED: 1(early leader), 2, 3, 5, 6
SELECTIONS:
GAME WE PLAY (5), LORNE BEACH (3), YOUNG AMERICAN (12), JACKS AT THE BEACH (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GAME WE PLAY (5) to win

RACE TEN

MACHBINO (5) is racing in good touch with a top-3 finish in 4 of his past 5 starts. 2 starts ago he looked to take them all the way at Redcliffe over the 1780m and just couldn’t quite see it out when 3rd and 5m in arrears. In his heat of this series he started from the 2nd line when taking the silver and in a wide open event is worth a ticket.

VILLAGE CRUISER (10) started from gate 1 over the sprint trip at Redcliffe 2 starts back and looked to take them all the way when grabbed up the passing lane by BLACK BELT. Pressing forward from the widest gate in his heat he worked hard and dug in. With even luck from the draw, he has some claims.

BALTIC BLUE EYES (1) returned a tough effort in a Gold Pot heat last Fri and was fighting to the line when 1.5m from the winner LEORYAN. On the 1 day back-up she took them all the way in her heat. She will come into this again on a 1 day back-up following the Gold Pot final on Fri and from the gate will have her chance.

HOOFNIT (8) has faced the starter 4 times since arriving in Qld and has placed at her past 2 starts from 2nd line draws at Marburg. Hitting the line in good order in the heat, she went within a neck of the winner CIRCLE LINE. With a cosy run from this gate she has podium claims.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (early leader), 2, 4, 5
SELECTIONS:
MACHBINO (5), VILLAGE CRUISER (10), BALTIC BLUE EYES (1), HOOFNIT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MACHBINO (5) to win
