Trainer Rob Heathcote is hopeful of pocketing holiday expenses when No Annamossity bids for a hat-trick of wins at Doomben on Saturday.

Heathcote is set to leave early Thursday for a three-week holiday to Egypt and Dubai and has declared No Annamossity as his stable’s best in the www.brc.com.au Benchmark 75 Handicap (1350m).

Heathcote has four Doomben runners remaining at the meeting following the early scratching of Jomar’s Element but is also weighing up his options with Privlaka in the Open Handicap (1350m).

Kaiser Franz will start in the Open Handicap but Heathcote expects the seven-year-old will need further ground.

“I’m not sure if Privlaka will run and I won’t make up my mind until the scratching deadline,” Heathcote said.

“He was a bit unlucky running seventh first-up off a bad gate on a leader’s biased track at Doomben last start.

“But I did like the way he made up ground to be beaten just over three lengths.”

Heathcote is delighted with No Annamossity who was given a freshen up following his impressive last start win over Don’t Doubt Da Wife over 1600 metres at Doomben on October 14.

“He went out for a short break straight after that win and is bouncing off the walls,” Heathcote said.

“He’s done a remarkable job considering he’s still got two pins in one of his legs.”

No Annamossity suffered a minor bone fracture when runner-up at Doomben last year and now races with two pins in a leg.

No Annamossity, a son of Mossman, is a three-quarter brother to his former champion sprinter Buffering and has won three of his 11 starts.

“He looks our best chance at Doomben and should be hard to beat but he’ll then step up in distance to 1600 metres next start,” Heathcote said.

Downloading is another three-quarter brother to Buffering who will represent the stable in the Mark Cotterell Master Jeweller 0-70 Handicap (1200m).

However, the four-year-old son of Love Conquers All has drawn awkwardly in barrier 11 as he bids for back-to-back wins following a Class One victory at the Sunshine Coast last month.

“Downloading is in the same position as Privlaka and I’m not sure yet whether he’ll run,” Heathcote said.

“But his last win was very good and we’ll just adopt a wait and see approach with him tomorrow.”
