UPDATE: The family of injured jockey Jeffrey Felix has advised he has been admitted to a regular ward and is making great progress in his recovery. 

Doctors will decide on Thursday whether Mr Felix can return home, but have advised his fractures will heal without surgery. 

EARLIER: Racing Queensland is in touch with the family of jockey of Jeffrey Felix after he was injured in a fall at Home Hill on Saturday. 

Mr Felix is comfortable and responsive, and remains in a stable condition at Townsville Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for multiple fractures and internal bleeding.

Mr Felix was expected to see a specialist today for further tests and, all being well, may be transferred from intensive care to a ward on Tuesday.

Jockey Katariina Aho was uninjured in the fall. 

Racing Queensland will continue to provide updates on other jockeys injured at the weekend as they come to hand.
