Mum-To-Be Notonyourlife vindicated a decision to continue her racing career with her first Stakes win at Doomben on Saturday.

The Tony Gollan-trained Notonyourlife made a stunning comeback flashing home for a decisive half length win over Our Beebee in the Listed UBET Classic Plate (1200m).

Sylpheed was third, a further half length away.

Notonyourlife is owned by Eureka Stud at Cambooya on Queensland’s Darling Downs and is in foal to its Group 1 winning sire, Spirit Of Boom.

Trainer Tony Gollan and Eureka Stud principal Scott McAlpine were in two minds whether to retire Notonyourlife after she placed at Doomben in July.

“We talked about retiring her after her last run but the decision was made to send her to stud and if she was in foal aim for the summer races,” Gollan said.

“She’s a real honest mare and she’ll now head for the Fillies and Mares race on Magic Millions day.

“She’ll probably race on until the end of January at this stage.

“She’s done a great job and has ticked all the boxes now she’s won a Listed race.”

Earlier unfashionably bred Blue Book maintained his unbeaten record with another all-the-way win in the QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap (1200m).

Ridden by Mauritius-bound Jeff Lloyd, Blue Book never looked in danger of defeat easily holding off Miss Sara for a decisive 1-1/4 length win.

Grim Reaper was a similar margin away in third place.

Lloyd and fellow South African Robbie Fradd will ride in an international jockey invitation in Mauritius next weekend.

Blue Book led all the way to win on debut at Doomben a fortnight ago but is ineligible for the $2 million Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 13.

“He showed brilliant speed again today,” said winning trainer Kelly Doughty.

“He’s big and tall for his age and I expect he can only improve.

“He isn’t Magic Millions so I’ll wait and see what we do with him.”

Blue Book is a son of Denmarket and was bred by his owner Phil Sullivan who has been a long-time client of Doughty.

Denmarket was originally trained in Western Australia where he won the Group 3 Sires’ Produce Stakes before being trained in Sydney by Gerald Ryan.

Under Ryan, Denmarket claimed the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes in 2005 before he was again transferred to Sydney’s David Payne and then David Kelly on the Gold Coast.
