Warwick Farm trainer Bjorn Baker hopes to strike first blood for the interstate invaders when Test The World tackles the Listed Keith Noud Stakes at Doomben on Saturday.

The Keith Noud Stakes was elevated to Listed grade in 2011 and since then has heralded the start of the Queensland TAB Summer Carnival.

Port Macquarie sprinter Victorem has been in Queensland for over a week as she also attempts victory for the interstate raiders.

Baker has been a regular visitor to Queensland in recent years and Doomben has been a happy hunting ground.

His former star sprinter Winning Rupert dominated the 2015 summer carnival while he claimed his maiden Group 1 success with Music Magnate in the 2016 Doomben 10,000.

Baker admits Test The World is no Winning Rupert but the five-year-old mare has been consistent right through her career of 16 starts for six wins and as many placings.

The daughter of Testa Rossa has not started since finishing fifth to the James Cummings-trained Resin in the Group 3 The Nivison at Randwick last month.

However, she has barrier trialled when second in a 1000-metre Gosford hit-out on November 7 and is primed for her second-up assignment.

“She ran a good race and needed the run when she ran fifth last start and she’s trialled well since at Gosford,” Baker said.

“She’s heading in the right direction but we’re coming to a fork in the road after Saturday. She’ll either stay up there for the summer races or come back home.

“We sent her to Brisbane to win Black Type and she gets in well at the weights.”

Test The World had a three-start campaign in Brisbane during the winter where her best performance was second in the Listed Silk Stocking at the Gold Coast in May.

She was beaten just over one length in her next two starts when sixth in the Group 3 BRC Sprint at Doomben and fifth in the Listed Helen Coughlan Stakes at the Sunshine Coast.

In latest fixed markets with UBET, Test The World is on the third line of betting at $6.50 behind the $3.50 favourite Victorem.
