This shapes as a bottler to open the night, made even more enticing with the barrier draw. The airborne SECRETAGENT TYCOON (12) shooting for 5 wins on the bounce, taking on ZAHVEN BANNER (9) who sizzled around the AP oval 2 starts back in the 2nd quickest mile ever recorded at The Creek. Despite the extreme gate SECRETAGENT TYCOON (12) has done enough to get top billing, having been untouched at his past 2 in scoring mighty impressive style.
ZAHVEN BANNER (9) looked in cruise control when setting a 1.50.8 mile 2 starts back, then toured the triangle 3-wide the trip last start when 12m away. Tactics will be key and he looms large.
ROYAL LINCOLN (1) lands the plum gate and can use his early speed to take control early and will then have the options if either of the 2 big-guns come calling. The gate is his friend and he has podium claims.
EARL JUJON (8) can sit in behind the speed with the cosy trip here and if things get too hot, he will be tucked away and ready to launch in the lane.
SELECTIONS: SECRETAGENT TYCOON (12), ZAHVEN BANNER (9), ROYAL LINCOLN (1), EARL JUJON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SECRETAGENT TYCOON (12) to win
PARAVANI (11) has the tough gate to overcome and despite all 4 of his wins here at The Creek coming when dictating in front, he strikes the right type of race with the right front-line pressure to be charging home. If able to settle in the run, this would be within reach.
BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (4) will strip fitter from his latest outing when 1st up after close to 12 months off the scene. Settling back in the pack over the Redcliffe sprint trip, he found the line nicely to finish mid-field behind PINUP BOY. Finding position cheaply, he can be ready to swoop in the stretch.
RANFURLY RULZ (6) found the 1x1 trail over the 2040m at Redcliffe last start and when making a challenge at the 400m, just couldn’t reach the leaders. Runner-up his previous 2, he can podium.
FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (1) is probably not ideally suited from the ace and will need to hustle to hold position. Things didn’t go to plan at Marburg last start but with added fitness he has rough claims.
SELECTIONS: PARAVANI (11), BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (4), RANFURLY RULZ (6), FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: PARAVANI (11) to win
Heats of this series were held at Marburg on Nov 3rd where DOLLARBILL (10) claimed a heat victory to continue his good form, making it 3 wins from his past 5 starts. Staring a short-priced fav in his heat victory, he was too strong in the breeze with a sharp last 800m. Despite the gate, he can arrive.
RAGING INFERNO (7) was impressive in finishing 2nd in his heat when slicing the breeze outside GUTS after pressing forward from outside the front line. Only 2m from DOLLARBILL the start prior again when outside the leader, his win here 3 starts back was strong and he will challenge.
TAYLOR HOOD (2) was another heat winner that packed too many guns in winning from the breeze. That followed a tough half-head 2nd to the in-form AMILLIION PROMISES and he is in the mix.
TAPTHEKEG (6) will take benefit from his run in the heat when having just his 2nd start in Qld since joining the Narissa McMullen yard. Chasing hard for 3rd to DOLLARBILL, he stays under notice here.
SELECTIONS: DOLLARBILL (10), RAGING INFERNO (7), TAYLOR HOOD (2), TAPTHEKEG (6)
THE SHADY ONE (1) landed outside the front line at Redcliffe last start and from the car-park, eased back early to find position and then in the latter stages the closing tempo up front made it impossible for the chasers. He has been going well despite not getting conditions to suit and from the ace can capitalise in this.
CLASSIE AMERICAN (6) sat in the pocket trail last start and made the closing shot a winning one up the passing lane last start to score a tidy win over the Redcliffe 2040m. Charging home strongly the start prior against the tempo to grab 2nd, he can be closing out strongly again here to challenge.
SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (5) made the most of conditions last start to dictate over the 2040m at Redcliffe. With a steady opening half, she sizzled home to score and can be thereabouts in this.
SALOON PASSAGE (4) should appreciate the return to the bigger track after some tidy efforts the past 2 weeks at the triangle. Forced to race tough last start, he can get across early and fight here.
SELECTIONS: THE SHADY ONE (1), CLASSIE AMERICAN (6), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (5), SALOON PASSAGE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: THE SHADY ONE (1) to win
TIN ROOF RAIDER (3) sat back in the pack and watched a hot tempo unfold in a Rising Stars final 2 starts back, swooping hard in the stretch to arrive for a smart win. After an early look for the front that bore no fruit last time, he again charged late to get within a neck. Back to the mile suits here.
MAJOR GENERALJUJON (2) was luckless last start with no space to challenge and a line can be placed through the result. Running top-two at his past 4 in succession, including a nice effort behind MR KALYPSO when 6m in arrears, he can settle close enough to podium in this.
CHARMING MAJOR (10) added another minor last start making it a top-3 in 8 of his past 9 appearances. Best of the rest behind SEEUINNASHVILLE in that, he can be swooping home here.
HARD TO HEAR (1) was diving along the passing lane last start and grabbed the silver when only a head short of victory. With a similar run on offer here, look for him slicing up the lane.
SELECTIONS: TIN ROOF RAIDER (3), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (2), CHARMING MAJOR (10), HARD TO HEAR (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TIN ROOF RAIDER (3) to win
An intriguing FFA this week with the barrier draw making the early tactics to find position a keen watch early. Kept away from Redcliffe in recent weeks, big HUGHIE GREEN (3) has been ticking over nicely in his previous outings. He found the line nicely when only 2m in arrears of ELENIARK and with the chance to find a handy spot in this, he might just sneak away with a win.
MATTGREGOR (4) will be driven by Pete McMullen, with a lead into the chances of this fellow perhaps, as he forgoes the drive in GLENFERRIE HOOD. Runner-up at his past 2 starts, he charged home from a long way back last tie to be within a neck. He can get forward here to prove the test.
MACH ALERT (1) lands his best gate for some time and with the peg-line benefits will come options. Over the 2138m will he release or will he hold. Game in the breeze last start, either in the van or the trail he will be in the fight.
GLENFERRIE HOOD (8) will be 3rd up but has been kept away from Redcliffe the past 2 weeks. Strong when wide off the track last start and only 3m from the winner, he will be away from the pegs early and won’t be far away.
SELECTIONS: HUGHIE GREEN (3), MATTGREGOR (4), MACH ALERT (1), GLENFERRIE HOOD (8)
SUGGESTED BET: HUGHIE GREEN (3) win/place
IMA TOP TYCOON (3) had a good shot for the front from gate 4 last week at Redcliffe and with the lamp lighting duties not up for grabs, was forced to roll the sleeves in the breeze. It was a top effort to hold 2nd behind the track record of ALWAYS IN COMMAND with 17m back to 3rd. This looks ideal.
RORY MACH (1) should not have any fitness concerns as he lines up for his 5th race appearance for November at just the half-way point of the month. In great touch in that period, he completed a hat-trick of victories 3 starts back. Backing up from Thurs, where he again landed the prize, he will get the ideal trip to challenge late here.
LIVING AGAIN (8) will have the early options as the lone 2nd line runner as to where the best track position will arrive. Finishing strongly to score last start at Redcliffe, he will be swooping in this.
OUTLAW FELLA (5) was in the pocket trail last start and chased home for the silver behind the leader and winner SMOOTH SHOWGIRL. Never far from the action he can be in the mix again here.
SELECTIONS: IMA TOP TYCOON (3), RORY MACH (1), LIVING AGAIN (8), OUTLAW FELLA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: IMA TOP TYCOON (3) to win
In a tough trot to line them up, GEE UP NEDDY (5) looks well-placed from the 10m tape and has found his mojo with a top-3 at all 5 starts this season. Working to the breeze from this same impost over this trip last start, he was game when beaten a neck. With versatility he can capitalise in this.
ALS LAW (1) wasn’t entirely suited last start under the mobile conditions at Redcliffe and was down the line behind OUR OVERANOVA. Only 3m from the winner CLOVER MAC at this trip and conditions 3 starts back, he lands the perfect lane again and with the cosy trip can fire the closing shots.
SPIRIT WALKER (6) worked home from back in the pack last start over the Redcliffe 2613m after finding herself a long way back in the pack and searching for space. A podium is within reach here.
CLOVER MAC (9) will appreciate getting back to the bigger track after making errors at his past 2 on the tighter Redcliffe track. A winner from the 10m tape here 3 starts back, look for a sharper effort.
SELECTIONS: GEE UP NEDDY (5), ALS LAW (1), SPIRIT WALKER (6), CLOVER MAC (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GEE UP NEDDY (5) to win
JUMPING JOLT (8) was locked away on the poles from inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start when holding 3rd but was never a winning factor as ALWAYS IN COMMAND kicked clear to a track record breaking victory. Luckless the start prior, he can follow the likely leader and be ready to snipe late.
THE BUS (6) should appreciate this class of opponent and gets into here nicely after taking on Open company of late. Grinding it out in the breeze last start over the Redcliffe sprint trip as SAMS THE MASTER set an electric speed in front, he was game in defeat. Despite the gate, this is within reach.
SEEUINNASHVILLE (3) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins since arriving in Qld. Pressing on to take control from gate 4 over the 2040m last start, he was able to rip home. He can challenge.
MAKOA (1) led them up 2 starts back and held for the silver behind the big winning ISLAND BANNER. Working home in good order for the bronze last time, he can take control try to fight them off.
SELECTIONS: JUMPING JOLT (8), THE BUS (6), SEEUINNASHVILLE (3), MAKOA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JUMPING JOLT (8) to win
PAY ME INTEREST (9) was eased back from gate 9 last start at Redcliffe and then never saw the required space to issue a meaningful challenge in the stretch. She found the line soundly the start prior behind CROOKWELL JAKE and with the right early trail through can arrive for the prize.
SOULWRITER (1) wasn’t suited last start from the 2nd line when forced to settle in the running line. Finishing mid-field, it was a tidy effort and had followed an all the way win in a restricted mares line up when taking them all the way. From the gate she will get her chance to free-wheel which suits.
MATRON JUJON (4) is getting closer to claiming a victory in one of these mares qualifiers and last start was finding the line in good order wide off the track. She can do the work and will fight hard.
CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (2) claimed victory in a Perseverance 2 starts back when packing too many guns in the closing stages. From the gate she can settle handy and be ready to offer in the stretch.
SELECTIONS: PAY ME INTEREST (9), SOULWRITER (1), MATRON JUJON (4), CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (2)
SUGGESTED BET: PAY ME INTEREST (9) to win
