RACE TWO

Close to capacity field in a tricky trot to line up where MELPARK MAGIC (12) should be further tightened from his last start 3rd. That was over the 2613m at Redcliffe where he was 2nd up from a break and caught the eye finishing well behind DAY TOURER. With the right cart home, he can arrive.

REGAL ASSASSIN (5) started well from the 10m tape last start but with no lead on offer was forced to do it tough in the breeze. Fighting hard, he was within 7m of the winner with that following an all the way effort over the 2280m. With slick early moves, he can look to take control and can grip on.

MAJESTIC WHIZ (2) has been in the money at 4 of his past 5 appearances, the latest when looming strongly to get within a head of the winner. Settling handy again here, he will be probing late.

MAJESTIC SIMON (9) resumes from a spell after a campaign that saw him do plenty wrong but also show plenty of ability. If able to avoid the traffic congestion early, he can feature and will benefit from the outing.

SELECTIONS: MELPARK MAGIC (12), REGAL ASSASSIN (5), MAJESTIC WHIZ (2), MAJESTIC SIMON (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC WHIZ (2) to place

RACE THREE

OUR ULTIMATE VICKI (8) will need a few factors in her favour here, but following a smart beginner, should be able to find a nice position in transit. Chasing hard from back in the pack last start when 4m form MILLWOOD TILLY, she will enjoy the soft trip here and can be ready to strike in the stretch.

WHITEHAVEN LASS (2) makes her Qld debut for the Dixon stable after racing in Tasmania at her most recent outings. A 5YO daughter of Arkareena who raced with distinction for Dixon, this mare has good early speed and trialled in good order in preparation. From the gate she stays under watch.

FROST EN ICE (5) returns from a break after being sent to the paddock following her last start 5th in the G1 2YO Fillies Triad. Absolutely luckless in that final, she has claims and benefit from the run.

ASHLEE NITRO (1) capitalised on this gate last when leading them up and taking them all the way to score a bold front-running victory. This will be a touch harder, but similar tactics can pay dividends.

SELECTIONS: OUR ULTIMATE VICKI (8), WHITEHAVEN LASS (2), FROST EN ICE (5), ASHLEE NITRO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR ULTIMATE VICKI (8) to win

RACE FOUR

CHERRYS THE BEST (4)
led them up last start over the 2040m at Redcliffe but couldn’t fight them off as a blanket of chasers arrived. Although beaten just a half-neck, she missed the placings. That followed a 2nd when unable to reel in GODDESS JUJON. This looks a shade easier and she can salute.

JILLIBY JACKPOT (2) was forced to do it the tough way in the breeze last start at Redcliffe and was in for the fight when only 4m in arrears of the passing lane winner. A tidy winner the start prior, if able to limit the workload in the run, he can be challenging in the closing stages.

MISS MIA (8) secured the prefect trip last start in the pocket trail and was able to angle off the pegs in the stretch to arrive for the prize. With another cosy trip in this, she will be probing for the gaps.

ZARAS DANCE (3) returns from a break and should appreciate the better gate after the last 3 starts of her previous campaign were all from the 2nd line. A two-time winner here at AP, she can place.

SELECTIONS: CHERRYS THE BEST (4), JILLIBY JACKPOT (2), MISS MIA (8), ZARAS DANCE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CHERRYS THE BEST (4) to win

RACE FIVE

MISTER REBBILY (4) will take good benefit from his latest outing when 2nd up from a spell to start his 3YO term. Working hard in the run over the Redcliffe sprint trip, he was in for the fight when holding on for 2nd. Not far in arrears of JILLIBY JACKPOT when resuming, he can look to open his term in this.

IMA BEACH BABE (3) resumed from a spell in good order when proving too strong in the breeze over the Redcliffe 1780m. The time was nothing to get too excited by, however the manner in which she put the leader away and never looked fully extended suggests she will tighten and ask the questions.

PHOTOZEN (1) looked to take them all the way from the pole draw at Redcliffe last time. Leading deep into the stretch, he was collared up the passing lane, holding on for 3rd. He can place again.

SUNNY RICE (10) made an error in the early stages last time out at Redcliffe and the run under the circumstances was full of merit. Despite the tough gate, she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MISTER REBBILY (4), IMA BEACH BABE (3), PHOTOZEN (1), SUNNY RICE (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

CASINO TOMMY (8) looked to take them all the way last start over the Redcliffe 2040m and kept the speed on all the way and was only grabbed in the closing stages. That followed an eye-catcher when doing a stack of work in the sizzling mile of ZAHVEN BANNER. With early options, he can arrive.

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (5) has the hoof well and truly on the register, just waiting to cash-in. Doing all the work in the run last start over the Redcliffe sprint trip, he fought gamely to hold on for the silver in slick time. Only 1m off victory the start prior, he will be right in the fight again.

LINCOLN ROAD (1) hasn’t had the best start to his campaign after 4 runs back from a spell, but finds the right type of conditions here. Down the line in a slick mile last time, he can place from the gate.

SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (6) will appreciate the return to the bigger oval after not being suited on the triangle last start. Fitter for the run after a freshen, he will be around the money once again.

SELECTIONS: CASINO TOMMY (8), MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (5), LINCOLN ROAD (1), SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-6-8

RACE SEVEN

BOULDER CITY (2) has started 3 times this campaign and will relish the opportunity to fire off the arm here. His past 2 outings have been from inside the 2nd line where he has been forced to rely on luck that hasn’t eventuated. Only beaten a neck 1st up when leading, he gets his chance to dictate.

TORI MAY (1) chased hard from the running line to grab the silver behind GOALKICKER over the 2040m at Redcliffe 2 starts back and followed that with a 3rd when only a half-neck off the winner in a sharp last 800m. She will get the easy ride here and be ready to take her shot in the stretch.

ARK ME (3) returns from a beak to start her 4YO term following a 3YO season that netted 3 wins and 5 minors. She comes into this without a public trial to prepare and will improve form the outing.

ICHIBA NEWY (8) has placed at her past 2 starts, the latest when finding the line strongly from back in the pack. Eased back from gate 6, there was merit in the run and she will be probing here.

SELECTIONS: BOULDER CITY (2), TORI MAY (1), ARK ME (3), ICHIBA NEWY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BOULDER CITY (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

The early speed off the front line and the tempo through the opening half will dictate where the winner comes from here. Working off the scenario of a slick tempo, PSYCHEDELIC (10) can utilise his best asset and look to swoop over the top. Not suited on the inside at Redcliffe last time, he will be tightened from the run and looks an each-way player. He just needs a rub of the green which can come from the shamrocks on his silks.

SIR JULIAN (1) couldn’t muster the speed to keep them out from gate 1 at Redcliffe 2 starts back and soon found himself buried 3 back on the poles and then facing an uphill battle against the tempo. A strong winner here 5 starts back and a smart winner on Friday at Redcliffe, he has the favours here.

LEXUS ON THE BEACH (3) rolled the sleeves last start over the 2040m at Redcliffe and was in for the fight when grinding it out to a neck 3rd. He will be in the fight again here and will give his all.

WITH AUTHORITY (8) will be sweating on the 1 looking to dictate and with that scenario eventuating will be coiled and ready to strike. Not suited last time, his previous 2 were strong and he has claims.

SELECTIONS: PSYCHEDELIC (10), SIR JULIAN (1), LEXUS ON THE BEACH (3), WITH AUTHORITY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PSYCHEDELIC (10) each-way

RACE NINE

IM NORMA JEAN (1) will appreciate getting back to the mile here after taking on the 2138m last time out and doing work in the run. Taken to the front 2 starts back over the Redcliffe sprint trip, she was only grabbed in the closing stages and from the ace gate here will be fighting them off.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (3) is in great touch this season and missed the board for just the 1st time last outing. Taken to the pegs to look for luck from gate 6, she was under 5m from the winner when probing for gaps. A smart all the way winner the start prior, she will be challenging again here.

GOTTA MOMENT (9) didn’t have things go his way last start over the 2138m trip and was down the line as the swoopers cleared away. Working home wide out 2 starts back, he can be sharper here.

MUCH BETTOR (7) is given no favours from the tough gate but will take great benefit from his last start Redcliffe victory. Proving too strong in a sharp closing 800m from the breeze, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: IM NORMA JEAN (1), SAINT KILDA BEACH (3), GOTTA MOMENT (9), MUCH BETTOR (7)
SUGGESTED BET:
