RACE THREE

Making the best start possible to his Qld career SABRAGE (3) proved too strong 1st up at Redcliffe when rolling the sleeves in the breeze and running a slick mile around the triangle to take the prize. Fitter and taking confidence from the victory, he can press forward here and look to take this by the scruff of the neck.

RUN BOY RUN (4) has been crying out to land a marble and will appreciate wearing the blue saddlecloth here. He was closing nicely to grab the bronze last start behind SECRETAGENT TYCOON after being locked away against the poles and with the improved gate can challenge against these.

ONE WISE MAN (1) was sent around them at the 1200m last start to take the breeze and was game holding 3rd behind the dominant SECRETAGENT TYCOON. With a soft trip, he can make a closing play.

CONVAIR HUSTLER (7) lands outside the front again after starting from this same alley last week at his 1st Qld start. The run was good after easing early and we might have to wait another start.

SELECTIONS: SABRAGE (3), RUN BOY RUN (4), ONE WISE MAN (1), CONVAIR HUSTLER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SABRAGE (3) to win

RACE FOUR

GOALKICKER (2)
eased back from gate 6 here last Sat in the mares race over the mile and was too far back, yet she still ran some smart closing panels. Luckless from the 2nd line here on Tuesday when probing for a gap that never arrived, she can look to find the pegs and from the front fight them off.

MY SECRET TORQUE (6) was locked away against the pegs from her 2nd line gate here last week and when the gap finally arrived, she was sprouting wings to get within an eyelash of the prize behind INVITE ONLY. The step-up in distance is a worry, but with a soft trip she can swoop hard again in this.

LATE NIGHT DATE (7) shoots for the hat-trick after scoring a dominant win last time out in the Aspirational. Bursting clear at the top of the stretch to a 17m victory, she won’t be far away here.

BETTOR BECAUSE (1) couldn’t find position from gate 5 last start and was forced to retreat to find the pegs before hitting the line in nice style. With the soft trip here, she can issue a late challenge.

SELECTIONS: GOALKICKER (2), MY SECRET TORQUE (6), LATE NIGHT DATE (7), BETTOR BECAUSE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: GOALKICKER (2) to win

RACE FIVE

The Donny Smith barn has been firing in recent weeks, with the flames scorching from ALWAYS IN COMMAND (7) who made it 6 successive victories last week. The 1st 5 of those were all at his home track of Redcliffe and then working to the front over the mile here last start, was able to take a new career PB. The gate hurts, and the 2138m might be a query, but he has been brutal and can be again.

IMA TOP TYCOON (9) made it successive wins last start when taking an easy lead and then with a lung full of air through the 2nd panel was never in danger in taking the prize. All the way over the 2138m 2 starts back, he can secure an early trail through here and a threepeat is within reach.

MAKOA (8) made the most of gate 1 here 2 starts back over this trip and once in control was never in danger when claiming a 2m victory. Nothing made ground wide last start and a soft trip here suits.

TULHURST ACE (1) doesn’t have the numbers to inspire but he has been starting from tough gates since returning from a spell. With the big gate improvement, he gets the chance to be much sharper.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS IN COMMAND (7), IMA TOP TYCOON (9), MAKOA (8), TULHURST ACE (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

EMPIRE BAY (9) will be fitter following his return to the track last time out where he chased gamely from the big 40m impost over the 2138m, running some slick closing panels in the process. Equalling the mile track record in front here 4 starts back, he can trail through early to be swooping home late.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (1) is the joint record holder at the mile with EMPIRE BAY under mobile conditions, and she too is also adept over the longer trip she will face here. Only 2m from OUR OVERANOVA 2 last start at Redcliffe, she will again secure the perfect trip here and be coiled for the closing shot.

OUR OVERANOVA (6) broke the Redcliffe 1780m track record last start when grinding out a tough victory from the breeze after circling from the 2nd line. He will need to work again here, but can never be left out of the numbers.

SPRINGBANK EDEN (4) impressed over the 2647m last start when settling in the 1x1 trail and then cruising home to score when called on. His mobile record is not great, but the ease of his last win can see him feature here.

SELECTIONS: EMPIRE BAY (9), QUIETLY SPOKEN (1), OUR OVERANOVA (6), SPRINGBANK EDEN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: EMPIRE BAY (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

Original a nomination to be over in Auckland contesting the ID, FAME ASSURED (2) was withdrawn from that series and has been ticking along nicely close to home since returning this season. Making the most of circumstances to score 4 starts back, she hasn’t been too far away and with the chance to dart in behind, can arrive in time here.

MACH ALERT (1)
has been defying his age and although perhaps not at the heights he once scaled, he is still a force in the FFA ranks, especially from this gate. His closing splits last start over the 2138m were slick from the rear when 4m from the winner. Back to the mile, he can look to dictate.

SAMS THE MASTER (5) pressed ahead to take control from gate 4 over this trip 3 starts back and was never headed in a career PB. Following that with a Redcliffe track record and then a sharp trial to keep things ticking over, he will be challenging hard.

CLINTAL DO (4) will be tightened from his latest appearance when 3rd up from a break over the 2138m. Finishing over the top to score, he faces a tricky gate here, but can swoop late off the pace.

SELECTIONS: FAME ASSURED (2), MACH ALERT (1), SAMS THE MASTER (5), CLINTAL DO (4)
SUGGESTED BET: FAME ASSURED (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

ZAHVEN BANNER (6) made an impact here 4 starts back when having his 1st run back in Qld and setting the 2nd quickest mile ever recorded at The Creek. Not suited at Redcliffe his next start, he bounced back here last time brutalising his opponents from the front. He can roll forward to put the power on again.

FEEL THE REIGN (4) has been meeting some tough barriers and unsuitable conditions of late, the latest from gate 12 when trying to chase SECRETAGENT TYCOON. He did his share of early work in the sharp mile of ROYAL LINCOLN 2 starts back and from the front here can find a position to place.

IM MAJOR HARRY (5) eased back from gate 6 last start over the 2138m and really caught the eye attacking the line in the closing stages. The gate stings but he can be in the mix late again in this.

TRAIN WRECK (1) chased along the peg-line in the electric mile set by ZAHVEN BANNER and held on for the silver 3 starts back. Not too far away in both runs since, the peg benefits appeal here.

SELECTIONS: ZAHVEN BANNER (6), FEEL THE REIGN (4), IM MAJOR HARRY (5), TRAIN WRECK (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Frexi trifecta 6/ 1-4-5
