RACE TWO

BONDI SHAKE (4)
makes his Aus debut for Al Barnes with the Somebeachsomewhere gelding placed in 2 of his 11 career starts when prepared on the North Island of NZ. Given a local trial where he was not pressured in chasing home behind the smart MANILA PLAYBOY, he can start with a bang in this.

WOODLANDS ROSE (1) has now placed at her past 4 in succession and again comes up with the gate to look to capitalise. Heading into last week’s assignment, her 3 successive placings had been from wide gates. From the ace last week, she led all bar the stride that it mattered when a neck away in 2nd place.  Will this be the day?

CATCH PHRASE (2) is a nicely bred filly on debut from the astute Shannon Price barn, by Bettors Delight out of the former handy race mare American Promise. Not asked for much in a recent trial against vastly more experienced rivals, she can settle close to the action to join in here.

STEEVEN (5) returns from a spell after 3 starts to open his career when prepared by Charlie Cini. Switching the Dixon yard for this campaign, he has had a pair of trials to prepare and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: BONDI SHAKE (4), WOODLANDS ROSE (1), CATCH PHRASE (2), STEEVEN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BONDI SHAKE (4) to win

RACE THREE

COPPICE (3) found the pocket trail from gate 9 last start but could not get into a podium position as LANCELOT BROMAC arrived to score. Wore down in front when BLISSFULDAY sat outside him here 2 starts back and finishing 4m away, he can look to turn the tables this time.

BLISSFULDAY (4) rolled forward from gate 6 over the Redcliffe sprint trip last start and from the breeze had too many arrows in the quiver when pulling clear to claim a 10m victory. Tough in the breeze the start prior when grabbed late by a swooping PETITE PAREE, he will challenge hard here.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH (10) was 3rd across the line last time out but a protest saw him drop one placing. Looking under pressure at the home turn, he rallied to be within 5m of the winner. This is no harder and he can be thereabouts once again.

FIRE ME UP (8) found the 2138m out of reach last start and could not go on with it in the closing stages. A passing lane winner here 3 starts back, she might be shuffled back here but can be probing late.

SELECTIONS: COPPICE (3), BLISSFULDAY (4), NIFTY STUDLEIGH (10), FIRE ME UP (8)
SUGGESTED BET: COPPICE (3) to win

RACE FOUR

FLAME LADY (1) will be further tightened from her latest offering when 2nd up from a break and stepping out in Qld for the 2nd time. Chiming in late to grab the silver behind LANCELOT BROMAC, she may have been closer with a smoother passage. Grabbed late by MATAU JESS the start prior, she looks to have found conditions to suit here.

SUNNY RICE (8) settled in the 1x1 trail over the 2138m last start when looking to make a closing play. Looming up, she could not hold off the swooping challenge of MOTU AMETHYST in claiming 2nd. With a soft trip looking likely, she can be coiled and ready to take the snipers shot.

ATOMIC BOMBSHELL (2) was big in defeat last start, forced to retreat to the rear when unable to secure position. Charging home to be 1m from the winner, it followed a brave effort where there were excuses. From this alley, she is right in the fight.

SHADYS DELIGHT (9) eased from gate 5 and then could not get into the contest last time out over the 2138m. Back to the mile looks in his favour and looking for an economical trip can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: FLAME LADY (1), SUNNY RICE (8), ATOMIC BOMBSHELL (2), SHADYS DELIGHT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: FLAME LADY (1) to win

RACE FIVE

OUR RIDGY DIDGE (3)
is a model of consistency and added another minor to his tally last start. Firming in the market to start fav, he was obliged to race tough outside the leader when game in defeat, beaten 2m behind LARRY LINCOLN. Firing the early shots here, he looks to get his chance.

MOTU AMETHYST (5) sat back in the pack from gate 11 last start over the 2138m before making a sweeping run to arrive in time for victory. Not much was in her favour at both previous starts when tailing them in on each occasion. Positioning cheaply will be key to her chances of making a challenge.

LITTLELIONELJAMES (8) eased from gate 6 to find position last start before hitting the line in nice order behind LARRY LINCOLN. Tough in the breeze the start prior, he can be probing for the openings.

LANCELOT BROMAC (1) wound back the clock last start to arrive down the centre of the track for the win. With the benefit of the inside gate, he can save fuel in transit and land in a podium position.

SELECTIONS: OUR RIDGY DIDGE (3), MOTU AMETHYST (5), LITTLELIONELJAMES (8), LANCELOT BROMAC (1)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR RIDGY DIDGE (3) to win

RACE SIX

CLINTAL DO (8)
resumes from a spell and finds a suitable contest 1st up to tackle. Hitting the line strongly last start when 1m from KID MONTANA in the Lucky Creed Open, his 2 runs prior were when back in the pack and the closing tempo in front made it near impossible for the chasers. Given a steady time in a recent trial, the 2nd line options appeal here.

BEE GEES BANDIT (2) settled in the running line from the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start when closing out in good order to be 3m from the winner ITZ MY GENERATION. Only 6m from CLASSIE AMERICAN the start prior over this trip, he can fire the early bullets and with options thereafter can challenge.

COURAGEOUS SAINT (6) was rewarded for his efforts here last week when swooping home strongly down the middle of the track to arrive for a smart win. The wide gate stings here, but he cannot be under-estimated.

OUR MAJOR DAY (3) was sent forward from the 2nd line last start over the 2138m and was forced to work hard in the run as the fav. Only 6m away after the tough trip, it followed a tidy 2nd to the in-form NURBURGRING. With his best gate this campaign, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: CLINTAL DO (8), BEE GEES BANDIT (2), COURAGEOUS SAINT (6), OUR MAJOR DAY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-3-6-8

RACE SEVEN

LARRY LINCOLN (4) has been in great touch and last start completed a hat-trick of victories, all at the mile. Settling in the running line here last week after angling away from the inside early, he sprinted sharply when asked for the effort to arrive. There looks some speed and pressure to his inside, but he can slide in before powering late.

SOHO TSUNAMI (3) ended up on the poles last start from gate 2 in a strong Saturday night 3YO contest. Chasing hard to grab the bronze behind ONE CHANGE, it was a tidy effort that had followed a tough trip when cutting the breeze. He can get forward to throw down a challenge here.

TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (1) has early speed and from the gate has the early options. Releasing over the middle-distance last start when 3rd to OUR BALOU, she led throughout the start prior over the mile. From the gate she can feature.

BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9) will be 1st up from a break, sent for a let-up after a brave 4th when only 2m from the winner in the South East Oaks last time out. Opening the pipes in a pair of trials, the 2nd of those was much sharper and she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LARRY LINCOLN (4), SOHO TSUNAMI (3), TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (1), BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: LARRY LINCOLN (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

COLBY (2) rolled forward and was forced to race tough outside the leader OUR BALOU over this trip last week. Looking to grill the leader in the run, he was putting the pressure on throughout and just fell short when only a lip away. Charging home, the start prior behind L L COOL J, he looks too sharp.

MACH LE MORE (9) is flying of late without landing a winning blow, running home in some electric closing splits. Snagged back from gate 7 last start, he was charging home breaking 55 his last 800 and 27 his last 400 behind OUR BALOU. Moving to inside the 2nd line is a big dent to his hopes as he probes for a way clear.

DOUBLE OR NOTHING (6) was sent forward from a tough gate last start to sit outside the star ONE CHANGE. Only feeling the pinch late, he has the tough gate once again but will be in for the fight.

LITTLE CHANGE (10) backs up from Saturday night when taking on a veterans event when runner-up to his stablemate MAYWYNS BEST. A smart winner at Redcliffe 2 starts back, he can follow through early on the back of the speed to settle handy.

SELECTIONS: COLBY (2), MACH LE MORE (9), DOUBLE OR NOTHING (6), LITTLE CHANGE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: COLBY (2) to win
