QRIC stewards today undertook an inspection of the racing surface at Ipswich Turf Club, in advance of the club’s (rescheduled) race meeting on Tuesday 2 October.

The track was rated a Soft 7 at 3:30pm today, Monday 1 October.  Two horses were also worked on the course proper this morning.

As a consequence however of some remediation works that have been undertaken on the racing surface just past the crossing area, it has been deemed necessary to amend the distance of one race on the program.  The change is:

Race 4

Class 4 Handicap 1666m, distance amended to 1550m

All other previously published conditions pertaining to this race remain unaltered

The connections of any horse in the amended race wishing to scratch as a result of the distance change will not be charged a scratching fee should that option be exercised.
