Burman's versatile pair bound for The Meadows

Champagne Sally produced a trademark railing performance to win the Free For All over 710 for Ray Burman.

The trainer saying his stayer as well as in form sprinter Magic Hornet were bound for the Meadows after receiving invitations from the club today.

"We'll probably keep her (Champagne Sally) over the 700 and put Magic Hornet in the sprint, but they're both nominated for each distance so it's good to have options."

New South Wales trainer Michael Lilacz savoured his second Albion Park win in consecutive days when Southern Ripple led from start to finish in slick time (29.96) to open proceedings on Thursday.

Southern Ripple followed in the footsteps of littermate Irish Ripple (Fabregas x Busy Rumble) which won a heat of the Eric Thomson Memorial Maiden at 'The Creek' on Wednesday.

Lilacz, who trains just south of the Queensland border at Mungay, was unsurprisingly thrilled with the result.

"I always knew he would bust 30sec but I was very pleased he did it this soon," he said.
