RACE TWO

Since returning from a break CLARRY (3) has been in great touch and last start went within 2m of the hat-trick last start in a much stronger line-up. With successive wins at the mile and the 2138m, the latest win was a sharp effort out in front. With versatility to call on, he will be tough to stop.

CLASSIE AMERICAN (9) was deserted by luck last start when severely hampered at the start and the found himself 3 back on the pegs when he was likely to have been in the pocket trail. His run 2 starts behind CLARRY was a sharp effort after retreating from gate 7 and he can be chiming in late here.

ELMS CREEK (2) was forced to do plenty of work when circling from the 2nd line 2 starts back and then last start capitalised on gate 1 for a passing lane win. This is tougher but the gate is a plus.

THREE MUGS IN (1) is in form with wins at 3 of his past 5, the latest when scoring in a qualifier over the 2138m. Taking the trail in that he finished over the top to score and with a similar trip can place.

SELECTIONS: CLARRY (3), CLASSIE AMERICAN (9), ELMS CREEK (2), THREE MUGS IN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CLARRY (3) to win

RACE THREE

GREGS LEGACY (5) wasn’t suited last start from the 2nd line when the race was controlled from the front and those back in the pack didn’t make much of an impact. The start prior he led them up from gate 6 when claimed late by CLASSIE AMERICAN, holding on for 3rd. He will give them a target.

OUR LITTLE DIGGER (4) fired out early before taking a trail here on Tues, not before setting a sub 27 opening panel. With the leader folding up in front, he just didn’t get the lane when needed, losing his momentum. Finding the pegs cheaply, he will be in the snipers seat ready to pull the trigger.

EARL JUJON (2) claimed a 2nd division qualifier last time in strong fashion after pressing forward from gate 7 and pulling clear for a 6m victory. From the gate he can settle handy and is right in the fight.

THE GOLDEN CROSS (1) was locked away 3 back against the poles last start from inside the 2nd line when finishing 4m from the winner MAJOR CURRENCY. With a cheap ride, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: GREGS LEGACY (5), OUR LITTLE DIGGER (4), EARL JUJON (2), THE GOLDEN CROSS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-4-5

RACE FOUR

This 2nd division qualifier looks the toughest race on the card to line-up and with the benefit of good early speed, CC JONES (3) might just sneak away with this. Placed in 2 of his past 5 starts, he wasn’t ideally suited over the 2138m last time and with a nice trial here on Tues is worth a ticket.

LIVING GRAND (1) eased back from gate 7 last start to go luck hunting up the pegs in a similar type race and was too far back to get into the fight. He can look to hustle hard off the arm and although likely to be crossed, the peg-line benefits will help him be close enough in the stretch to offer.

RUATO BAY (8) is on the back-up from Redcliffe on Thurs and with placings at his previous 2 starts, should be able to find some money in this. Within 2m of MONTANA CHIEF 3 back, he will be probing.

RANFURLY RULZ (11) wasn’t suited last start when asked to do it the tough way in the breeze and after the tough trip hoisted the white flag. With the right cart home, he can be sharper in this.

SELECTIONS: CC JONES (3), LIVING GRAND (1), RUATO BAY (8), RANFURLY RULZ (11)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

MATRON JUJON (6) was under lock and key 4 back on the poles from inside the 2nd line last start. When a gap arrived, she was hitting the line in good order to be within 4m of the winner. A tough winner here 3 starts back, she can look to roll forward early and from there would be tough to beat.

MADAME LEZA (11) will take great benefit from her run here last week when returning from a freshen. Pressing to the breeze from gate 4 she was forced to roll the sleeves and in for the fight was only 2m from the passing lane winner. Despite the tough gate, she will throw down a challenge.

VICTREE MIKAYLA (3) was forced to retreat from gate 7 here last start and from the rear was sound to the line when within 10m of the winner. A dictating winner 2 starts back, she can give cheek here.

STEVIE DEE (10) likes to run home off the speed and will have conditions to suit in this. 8m from HAPPY FEELINGS last start, if she can secure a helmet to follow, she can take a stretch shot.

SELECTIONS: MATRON JUJON (6), MADAME LEZA (11), VICTREE MIKAYLA (3), STEVIE DEE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MATRON JUJON (6) to win

RACE SIX

SPEECH IS SILVER (1) is undefeated in 3 starts in Aus, starting a prohibitive red figure fav in each. Last start he didn’t even appear to change gears when cruising home to claim a new career PB of 53.8 over the mile which followed a 53.9 over the 2138m. His early speed is the query, but he looks the real deal and could be going places.
ALE ALE KAI (8) faces the toughest test of her career to date, but lands the favourable gate where she should be able to secure the ideal trip. Tough in the breeze last start when fighting on for 3rd despite an issue, her 2 wins prior were smart. With the snipers shot she can take her shot.

JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (9) has recaptured some form and 2 starts back was grabbed late when looking to make it a hat-trick of victories. Pegs look the option here and she is a podium player.

THATS HOW WEROLL (12) chased hard from a long way back to grab 2nd behind the in-form SECRETAGENT TYCOON last start. Securing a cosy trip, he will be probing the gaps and sprinting late.

SELECTIONS: SPEECH IS SILVER (1), ALE ALE KAI (8), JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (9), THATS HOW WEROLL (12)
SUGGESTED BET: Peg-line trifecta 1 / 8-9 / 8-9

RACE SEVEN

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4) made the most of finding the front here 2 starts back and once in control over the mile ran home to a big victory, sprinting sharply the closing 400m. Gunned down last start over the 2138m trip, if able to pinch a panel at some stage, he will take some catching.

KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (2) bounced back to winning form on Wed night when making the most of conditions to find the front over the Redcliffe 1780m. Only needing to sprint the last 200m, he was a comfortable victor. With the gate advantage over his main dangers, he will take some stopping.

ARES (1) secured the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line at Marburg last start and with no passing lane went to the line probing gaps that never arrived. With the cosy trip he will be thereabouts here.

MISTER HART (3) is in nice touch at present with his latest effort in a qualifier a tidy effort. Locked against the poles, he found the line nicely for the silver to THREE MUGS IN and has hopes here.

SELECTIONS: RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4), KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (2), ARES (1), MISTER HART (3)
SUGGESTED BET: RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

GLENFERRIE HOOD (7) returned from a spell here last week when finding the front over the mile. Hustling hard in the early stages to find the pegs from the five-hole, he was able to pilfer a 2nd stanza breather. That allowed him to rip home to score. Fitter for the run, he is versatile enough to crack the $500,000 barrier in this.

THE BUS (4) will take great benefit from his return to the track here last week. Staring from inside the 2nd line, he grabbed the bronze when 2m from the winner ITALIAN DELIGHT. With a pair of trials in readiness, he can get forward from the good alley to throw down a challenge in this.

FAME ASSURED (5) will be fitter from her return when chasing home LEOS BEST and COLT THIRTY ONE. Only 9m in arrears when closing out in fine style, she can be in the mix again here.

ELENIARK (9) caught the eye here last week when 1st up from a break and charging home in the closing stages to be 5m from the winner GLENFERRIE HOOD. With the right cart home, she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: GLENFERRIE HOOD (7), THE BUS (4), FAME ASSURED (5), ELENIARK (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENFERRIE HOOD (7) to win

RACE NINE

He might need to hustle to protect a position but WEE JIMMY (1) finds the right type of race. Not far away last start at Marburg when 8m from the winner AQUA CRUISER, his run 2 starts back in much stronger company was s tidy effort to be 7m from the winner ELMS CREEK. This looks ideal.

FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (5) returns from a spell and hasn’t been seen at the public trials in readiness. Last seen when grinding out a 3rd and only 3m from the winner IN THE PAPER over this trip, he was tough the start prior when 5m from WE SALUTE YOU. If forward enough, he can be a factor.

GRIZZLY MONTANA (4) made the most of conditions last start and once in control was never in danger to claim victory over this trip. Close up the start prior, he will be thereabouts again here.

HAVANA MOON (8) settled in the running line here 2 starts back and was making a late challenge when taking the bronze and only 1m from the winner GETARATTLEON. With early options he can podium.

SELECTIONS: WEE JIMMY (1), FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (5), GRIZZLY MONTANA (4), HAVANA MOON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WEE JIMMY (1) to win
