RACE TWO

This looks a tricky little contest where the early position and tempo could be keenly contested. Needing some factors in his favour, should they eventuate, HESLUVABLE (7) might be ready to take his chances. Runner-up in successive outings when making late metres, settling closer this time can see him arrive.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (5) has the wide gate here but should still appreciate the return to the front line after facing the 2nd line in recent outings. Closing from back in the field to get within a half-neck last start, it followed a down the line effort after being forced to work from a long way out. Limiting the burn over the 2040m will be key.

LIBERAL ARDEN (6) found conditions to suit last start when sent to the front and controlling the tempo had them all chasing in scoring an overdue 1st Aus victory. The gate makes it tough to back it up.

PIN CODE (9) settled a long way back in the pack here 2 starts back prior to finishing strongly to arrive in claiming a narrow victory. Gunned down in the closing strides when setting the tempo last start, she will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: HESLUVABLE (7), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (5), LIBERAL ARDEN (6), PIN CODE (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

RANIERI (4) has been around twice since arriving in Qld with the Dixon stable, the latest when 8m from the winner LISA LINCOLN. Eased from gate 5 on that occasion, he was running up behind them in the closing stages. Luckless when 1st up, he does not get that much respite from gate 4 after tough alleys in both Qld starts to date, but he can overcome it.

GASMONKEY (3) pressed on from gate 3 here 2 starts back to find the front over the sprint trip when fighting hard to hold on for the bronze when 3m from the winner MUCH BETTOR. Too far back last start from the 2nd line when the power went on at the front in the closing 600m, he can look to throw down the challenge.

LA PLAYER (8) found the pocket trail from gate 3 here 2 starts back and with the perfect trip made the closing play a winning one. Strong in the latter stages to grab the silver last time, he can be right in the fight once again.

BET IM SPECIAL (2) has been the runner-up at 3 of his past 4 starts, the latest when grabbed in the closing stages by LA PLAYER. From the gate he can fire the first shots and look to be in the fight.

SELECTIONS: RANIERI (4), GASMONKEY (3), LA PLAYER (8), BET IM SPECIAL (2)
SUGGESTED BET: RANIERI (4) to win

RACE FOUR

NO DOUBT (6)
eased from this gate last start before making a move and chasing hard for the silver behind LIBERAL ARDEN. He will take benefit from that outing when stepping out for the 1st time since joining the Vicki Rasmussen barn and despite the wide gate, can look to arrive for the prize.

GIRL ON THE GO (1) was locked away from inside the 2nd line last start but was soon able to find space down the back to angle in the clear. Setting out after the leader, she had bullets to fire to arrive for an easy 1m victory. Only a half-head away the start prior after a tough trip, she has all the options from this alley.

NIKALONG HENRY (7) was obliged to race tough last start when sent to the breeze from gate 4 over the 2040m trip. Only 5m away after grinding hard, it had followed successive 2nd placed returns. With the easy trip he will be chiming in.

CONDAFEW (2) has got back in grade a fair way now and with the right run in transit can be looking to make a play. 8m from the winner GOJOE last start, he can be close enough to feature.

SELECTIONS: NO DOUBT (6), GIRL ON THE GO (1), NIKALONG HENRY (7), CONDAFEW (2)
SUGGESTED BET: NO DOUBT (6) to win

RACE FIVE

GHOST GUM (7)
was in behind the leader last start from this same gate over the 2040m trip when the leader and winner BLISSFULDAY was able to control the tempo and kick clear to score. Back to the sprint trip suits and just needing a rub of the green to get the lane with momentum, he can arrive.

PATCHWORK JET (8) started from gate 9 last start and was soon too far back to make an impression as the leader was able to get home in 28.4 from the front, making it too hard for the chasers. Only 6m from the winner the start prior when in the pocket trail, he can be looking to wind up late here.

LEAPING LEO (2) held the 1x1 trail last start when mid-field behind WILLSONTOWN. Buried in transit the start prior, he can settle handy from this alley to feature.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4) held on for the bronze last start from the pocket trail, a position he is probably not best suited from. Placed at 4 of his past 5 starts, he will be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: GHOST GUM (7), PATCHWORK JET (8), LEAPING LEO (2), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: GHOST GUM (7) win/place

RACE SIX

It has been a while between winning drinks for JENUFLECTION (7), but she might have found the conditions to change that in this event. Eased from gate 5 last start, she was sound to the line behind BLACKJEWEL and the start prior would have been closer with a cleaner passage. Following a good beginner, she can make the closing shot a winning one.

TICK OF THE CLOCK (1) has been kept fresh since his last outing when looking to take them all the way from gate 3. After a steady opening half, he tried to open them up through the 3rd panel but was left vulnerable as a result. He can look for control here and will be trying to fight them off.

TILDALYN (8) has hit some form and lines up here after hitting the board at her past 4 in succession. Using the passing lane to arrive last start, she can secure a nice run in transit to make a closing play.

TORQUE TO THE MAX (3) eased to find position from gate 4 last start before making a strong closing finish to arrive for a 3m victory. With a similar run in this line-up, she can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: JENUFLECTION (7), TICK OF THE CLOCK (1), TILDALYN (8), TORQUE TO THE MAX (3)
SUGGESTED BET: JENUFLECTION (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

ROLLED IN GOLD (1) makes his Qld debut for John Cockburn, arriving with one win from 7 career starts. That win came 2 starts back when finishing best over the Menangle mile. Forced to race tough the start prior, she was down the line at her last Sydney start on Aug 29. Kept fresh, she has the gate to capitalise.

DUKE (7) was a winner here 3 starts back over the sprint trip when securing the 1x1 trail and then finishing best to claim a 4m victory. Forced to grind from the breeze at his next start when down the line, he was buried in transit last start. With the soft trip available, he can be probing for openings.

MISTER ARTIKULATE (5) returned from a spell when striking a strong field over the AP 2138m trip and finishing down the line. A winner at 2 on the bounce prior to the spell, this looks more suitable and he can be sharper.

TORQUE WRITER (8) will take some benefit from her latest appearance when resuming from a spell. Eased from gate 6 to find position, she made some later metres and with the right trip is a place chance.

SELECTIONS: ROLLED IN GOLD (1), DUKE (7), MISTER ARTIKULATE (5), TORQUE WRITER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-7-8

RACE EIGHT

FORTYFIVE ROCK (8) was shooting for a hat-trick of victories last start when locked in traffic and not finding the required space to issue a challenge. Breaking through for a maiden victory a long time in the making 3 starts back, he quickly doubled his win tally the next start. Following through early, he can arrive.

SCHOOBY (2) found the pocket trail from the 2nd line last start and with the cosy trip was making a closing play to get within a head of the winner. That was his best return for some time and with the early options from this alley owing to the early scratching, he gets an opportunity to challenge.

FREMARKSINDI (6) eased away from the inside here last start before making a string challenge down the centre of the track to arrive. The wide gate stings, but with even luck she has podium claims.

CHEYENNE AUTUMN (3) was snagged back to find position last start from gate 5 and then did not really work into the contest. From this gate she can settle in a prominent spot to feature.

SELECTIONS: FORTYFIVE ROCK (8), SCHOOBY (2), FREMARKSINDI (6), CHEYENNE AUTUMN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: FORTYFIVE ROCK (8) to win
