RACE TWO

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (5) was on debut last week when striking some early trouble and then went looking for luck thereafter. The luck didn’t arrive, but there was plenty to like about the run. With the added experience and the move to the front line he can look to atone.

OPONONIS BLISS (7) will take further benefit from her latest start after her runs have been spaced. Starting fav from the 2nd line at Redcliffe she was never comfortable on the triangle in finishing a good margin from the winner SAMMARI. The gate doesn’t help but she can still challenge.

MY MAGIC MERLIN (3) faced the breeze over the 2138m trip last start and went down fighting when only beaten a neck. Able to work in the run he looks set to pull the sleeves up here and is in the mix.

JUST ROKIN (9) used the passing lane for 2nd behind the smart LUCKY UNLUCKY here 3 starts back and hasn’t had the best of trips at her past 2. She should enjoy a nice trail here which will help her chances.

SELECTIONS: CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (5), OPONONIS BLISS (7), MY MAGIC MERLIN (3), JUST ROKIN (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (5) to win

RACE THREE

BEEF CITY BLAZE (2) was snookered away on the pegs after starting from inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start. Still 4 back on the pegs at the home turn he was angled wide and attacked the line strongly the concluding stages. With early speed and with race fitness he gets the nod.

MORROCH BAY (4) resumes from a spell after a two-start campaign back in October 2017 that saw him place 3rd in both races. The 2nd of those was a nice effort when hitting the line strongly behind the talented SAN DOMINO. With 2 trials to prepare, he will take benefit from the run.

NEWPORT DREAMZ (9) missed his entire 4YO campaign and will be 1st up since June 2017. Beaten 8m on that occasion behind TYGAR, he has trialled twice to prepare and stays under watch.

NON PASSARE (1) released the front last start before using the passing lane to grab the silver behind YKIKAFIL. From the inside gate and with race fitness he gets his chance to chime into the money.

SELECTIONS: BEEF CITY BLAZE (2), MORROCH BAY (4), NEWPORT DREAMZ (9), NON PASSARE (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

RORY MACH (7)
is racing well and has landed in the money at his past 4 in succession. He closed out strongly last start when only 2.5m from the winner which followed a 2nd to SIR JULIAN. With no favours from gate 7, there looks to be plenty of early tempo which will give him the swoopers shot.

EXCEPTIONAL MACH (5) burned early looking for the pegs over the 2138m trip but with no lead on offer was forced to face the breeze and saw him fade out in the closing stages. That followed a tidy effort off the 2nd line and back to the mile from this gate can look to get in the action.

THREO (3) gets back to claiming company which should be a big plus. Finding the front form gate 6 last start over the mile he only faded late when 5m from the winner. If 1st to the pegs he will give them something to chase.

IMA MORVEN LAD (1) burnt early last start over the 2138m to keep them wide before releasing and taking cover but the early burn was too much. Taking cover early here, he will enjoy a great trip.

SELECTIONS: RORY MACH (7), EXCEPTIONAL MACH (5), THREO (3), IMA MORVEN LAD (1)
SUGGESTED BET: RORY MACH (7) each-way

RACE FIVE

TOO GOOD FOR YOU (6) has been in great touch and has wins in 3 of his past 4 starts. A winner here 3 starts back when sent forward from this same gate to take control, he was never in danger in scoring a 7m victory. His all the way effort at Tamworth last start was strong and he is up to this.

ROYAL LINCOLN (10) makes his Aust debut for Jacob Wallace and was last seen in NZ at Cambridge back on Aug 16 when finishing 4th. A winner 4 starts back over 2200m in Auckland, he has not been sighted locally and despite a tricky alley, he stays under notice.

HAPPY FEELINGS (5) has claimed the bronze at her past 3 in succession, the latest when hitting the line in good order behind PAY ME INTEREST. Her run 2 back was sound behind MAYWYNS COURAGE and she is in the mix here.

HUNTER RED (1) took on a higher assessed event at Redcliffe last start and was snagged back from gate 4 and went looking for luck. An all the way winner on the triangle 3 runs back, he will be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: TOO GOOD FOR YOU (6), ROYAL LINCOLN (10), HAPPY FEELINGS (5), HUNTER RED (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-6-10

RACE SIX

LENNY THE LEGEND (7)
faces a class drop from what he has been meeting and despite a tricky gate, if he gets the right tempo can be finishing over the top. Grabbed in the last stride here on Tues by the talented LILAC FLASH, he raced tough here 2 back when 2nd to FRANCO TOTEM. He looks hard to stop.

MAMMALS MAGIC (5) was a stylish winner here 4 starts back and has been runner-up in all 3 since, beaten a half-head and a half-neck in 2 of those. Taken back from gate 7 last start she was charging home and was only a half-head from the winner. With the speed to find the pegs she can go close.

GOODTIME STRIDE (8) completed a hat-trick of victories last start when rolling forward to the breeze and proving too strong for a comfortable victory. She will need plenty of luck from this alley.

SMILING ARMADA (1) chased home in good style to grab the silver from gate 6 here 2 starts back and last start found them a bit sharp. From this gate he will get a great trip and has place claims.

SELECTIONS: LENNY THE LEGEND (7), MAMMALS MAGIC (5), GOODTIME STRIDE (8), SMILING ARMADA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LENNY THE LEGEND (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (12) was a red figure fav last time out and made a mess of the start and was never a factor. He looked to take them all the way the start prior and after setting a slick closing 800m was nabbed up the passing lane. He should appreciate this class of opponent to land the prize.

BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (1) was a passing lane winner here 4 starts back when sprinting strongly once the gap opened to take the prize. He has met much stronger opponents his next 3 starts including COLT THIRTY ONE. Freshened since his last outing he will be probing for the closing shot.

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (2) found 1x1 cover last start when mid-field behind VETTEL which followed a tidy effort from gate 7 when working home nicely. With good early speed he can look to dictate.

RIVERLEIGH JEFF (11) was working home nicely last start when 8m from the winner HOT ROD HEAVEN in a qualifier. With the right cart into the contest he can find the podium.

SELECTIONS: SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (12), BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (1), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (2), RIVERLEIGH JEFF (11)
SUGGESTED BET: SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (12) to win

RACE EIGHT

JACKS AT THE BEACH (2)
lands his best gate for some time after a mix of wide and 2nd line draws as a result of his starting manners. He worked home nicely for 3rd behind the smart MR KALYPSO 2 starts back and then last start led the 3-wide train in a nice effort behind MR MEDDLE. This looks well within reach.

OUR MEMPHIS MAC (1) chased gamely last start behind the tear-away winner GOODTIME STRIDE which followed a tough run from the breeze. With the cosy trip he can be coiled and ready to strike when the gaps appear.

IM TOOT (4) shoots for a hat-trick after successive Redcliffe wins in restricted company. The latest win was a nice effort when sent forward from gate 6 to lead them up and he is in the mix.

GOT THE GOODS (8) returned from a break in great order last start and after settling in the running line from gate 6 descended on them to score a good win. Fitter for the run he will be probing for openings.

SELECTIONS: JACKS AT THE BEACH (2), OUR MEMPHIS MAC (1), IM TOOT (4), GOT THE GOODS (8)
SUGGESTED BET: JACKS AT THE BEACH (2) to win
