RACE TWO

SAMS A CHAMP (11) aims up for the hat-trick after successive Redcliffe victories over the 2280m when leading throughout in each. Running home some slick panels in the 2nd of those wins, he was able to do it comfortably in front. There looks some good pressure and he can look to sail home late.

ZAC MAC (2) started from gate 4 in the Redcliffe final taken out by SAMS A CHAMP and once he went back was up against it with the tempo making it impossible for the chasers. It’s been over 12 months since he last tasted success yet from this gate can throw down a challenge.

ALWAYS MY MATE (6) started from gate 6 last start over the mile and came with a well-timed run to score a 2m victory over LOCKTON LUCK. That followed a late charging 2nd and he place again here.

GRINVIL (8) will enjoy a cosy trip against the markers here and be ready to issue a closing challenge. She made good closing ground here last week behind MANDY KRIDEN and will be searching for a gap.

SELECTIONS: SAMS A CHAMP (11), ZAC MAC (2), ALWAYS MY MATE (6), GRINVIL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SAMS A CHAMP (11) to win

RACE THREE

UNCLE PETER (1) has been battling some tough gates in recent starts but still been returning some nice performances. Last start from gate 7 he was wide off the track and worked home strongly to get within 5m of the flying SECRET JACK. With the improved gate he looks to get every chance to score.

SOHO SHANGHAI (4) returned to winning form last start when finishing over the top to score at the mile after starting from the 2nd line. That followed a nice effort when 6m from the winner MONIVAE after being buried in the run and while this is tougher he can be running on late.

GOTTASHOPEARLY (8) will get the perfect trip from this alley and will stalk the 1 and look to issue a closing challenge. Searching for a hat-trick last start the run was solid when beaten a head. This suits.

TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (5) was buried away in the run last start and was doing his best work in the closing stages when seeing open space and charging home. With even luck he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: UNCLE PETER (1), SOHO SHANGHAI (4), GOTTASHOPEARLY (8), TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: UNCLE PETER (1) to win

RACE FOUR

MY ULTIMATE FELLA (6)
started from inside the 2nd line last start and after being buried in the run was held up momentarily as he looked to work away from the pegs into open space. Finding the line in good order, he will strip fitter for the run after a 6-week gap between runs and is up to this.

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (3) was attacking the line strongly here 2 starts back and there was plenty to like about the run as he went under by 4m. He is on the short back-up after contesting a race at Redcliffe on Thurs and from this alley should be right in the mix.

VETTEL (12) has no favours from gate 12 but with the right cart into the contest can find the money. Beaten by the in-form SECRET JACK last start, he has been meeting some stronger types his past few.

RED LUCK (1) landed thee pocket trail here 2 starts back and chased home for a mid-field finish behind SOHO SHANGHAI. With the cosy trip he can be in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE FELLA (6), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (3), VETTEL (12), RED LUCK (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTIMATE FELLA (6) to win

RACE FIVE

OUR MAJOR DAY (11) returns from a spell and returns to the barn of Dayl March. Runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest was a tough effort when facing the breeze and going under by 3m behind KEY LARGO. Despite not having been seen at the trials, he looks to have a class edge.

WEE JIMMY (2) found the front before releasing here on Tues and from the pocket trail held on for the silver behind BETTING BARON. With the good alley once again he can look to fire the 1st shot and landing handy can be in the mix in this type of race.

ZALTA (12) was buried on the pegs here 2 starts back and when angled into open space was able to finish the best to score. Beaten a neck at his next run after working hard he can feature here.

MONUMENTAL (4) hasn’t been too far away in recent starts and here on Tues was back in the pack when trying to make up closing ground. Include in the exotics in a race like this.

SELECTIONS: OUR MAJOR DAY (11), WEE JIMMY (2), ZALTA (12), MONUMENTAL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY (11) to win

RACE SIX

INVINCIBLE LOXTON (4)
was absolutely low-flying with 6 successive victories that saw him catapulted into the Lucky Creed FFA. Suffering an issue in that race he went for a break and returned from gate 12 over the 2138m last start in scoring a dominant win. Fitter from that he can put them away again.

LOCKTON LUCK (5) worked hard in the run here 2 starts back when cutting the breeze and fighting gamely to the line when mid-field behind INVINCIBLE LOXTON. Last week he started the season in fine style when working his way to the front and controlling over the 2138m to score. Pressing forward again he is in the mix.

ROCK WITH SAM (10) worked forward to find the front from the four hole last week over the middle distance and held them off in a strong run. With the right cart into the contest he can throw down a challenge.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (1) got it all wrong here 2 starts back and was never a factor. There was plenty to like about his run last week when working home wide off the track and back into the main draw can give a sight from the ace.

SELECTIONS: INVINCIBLE LOXTON (4), LOCKTON LUCK (5), ROCK WITH SAM (10), MAFUTA VAUTIN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: INVINCIBLE LOXTON (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

ALLELUIA (3) is in the zone and looks to complete a hat-trick after a pair of equally impressive wins both at the 2138m trip. Allowed to float back from gate 7 last start he was then sent to the breeze and packed too many guns in holding on. He drops back to the mile but looks too good again.

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1) returns from a spell and was last seen when leading all the way to score over the 2138m trip, running some slick closing panels after a comfortable opening 800. She has been tightened with 3 visits to the trials and from the gate will be in the mix.

WATCH PULP FICTION (2) was locked away on the pegs last start and made good closing ground to only be 4m from the winner ALLELUIA. Dropping down to the pegs here, look for him charging late.

OHOKA PUNTER (4) started fav here last week but couldn’t go with them when the pace went on yet kept grinding away to the finish. Only 1.5m from ALLELUIA 2 starts back he has place claims.

SELECTIONS: ALLELUIA (3), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1), WATCH PULP FICTION (2), OHOKA PUNTER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ALLELUIA (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

HOLY CAMP CLIVE (4)
has been in the money at 5 of his past 7 with 3 of his past 4 when placing in FFA company. Last week he was sent to the front from gate 3 over the 2138m and went down swinging when only 3m from ALLELUIA. Back to this grade he looks mighty hard to stop.

WITHALOTOFLUCK (6) started from inside the 2nd line last start and still ran some nice closing sectionals despite being well covered. 2 starts back he attacked the line strongly behind INVINCIBLE LOXTON and with a sharp closing sprint will be suited by the small field.

MARKEY OH MARKEY (3) went to the pegs before releasing to eventual winner LOCKTON LUCK here last week, getting within a neck of the winner. Settling handy he can be running on late.

STORMFORTHEBOYS (1) didn’t get the cleanest passage here last week to make it successive runs where he has struck trouble. This will be the 200th start of his career and with the cosy trip can place.

SELECTIONS: HOLY CAMP CLIVE (4), WITHALOTOFLUCK (6), MARKEY OH MARKEY (3), STORMFORTHEBOYS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: HOLY CAMP CLIVE (4) to win

RACE NINE

RELEVEN DREAM (7)
was sent forward from his 30m tape last start to look for the front but with no lead on offer was snagged all the way back to the tail of the field. Probing for runs he never got a full shot and was still only 9m away. He meets the winner of that race 20m better and can cash-in.

IVANOV (3) has placed in 3 of his past 5 starts with the latest a nice 2nd to MAYBETOTHEMAX in a nice closing 800m. Possessing excellent manners from the tapes he can look to fire out early and controlling the tempo can be gripping on.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (6) has no started 4 times since returning from a break and showed the benefit of the added fitness when scoring a nice win last start in a T2-7. This is tougher but with the right trail is in the mix.

SENITAS SUCCESS (1) made an error in the run last start yet was still able to finish off strongly in the closing stages when 3rd to GIACOMO who he meets better at the handicap here. From the inside he can feature.

SELECTIONS: RELEVEN DREAM (7), IVANOV (3), MAYBETOTHEMAX (6), SENITAS SUCCESS (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TEN

ARCACHON (2)
is bursting to win one of these mares qualifiers and from gate 2 in this field will get every chance. Placed at her past 3 in succession in this type of event, she went down fighting over the 2138m trip last week after doing all the hard yards in the breeze and only beaten a head. Yes.

BOBBIES GIRL (7) will be fitter following 3 runs back from a break and despite the wide gate can’t be ignored. Starting in red figures last start she had no answer for the tear-away winner ARGYLE BEACH making it successive starts behind that mare. Limiting the early burn she can feature.

HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (8) was locked in the pocket here last week and held her ground to the line to take the bronze behind LUVUMUM. The gate suits her pattern and she will be probing for gaps.

BURNING AMBITION (6) started fav here 2 starts back from the pocket trail and had to settle for 2nd behind GLENFERRIE BABY. With good early speed she can look for positon and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: ARCACHON (2), BOBBIES GIRL (7), HAVETOGETAWAYMORE (8), BURNING AMBITION (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ARCACHON (2) to win
