QRIC stewards inspected the track at Ipswich Turf Club today following an overnight malfunction of the irrigation system which left a section of the track affected by water leading into the club’s race meeting on Wednesday 26 September.
The outcome of the inspection was that the stewards determined that the track (at midday, Tuesday 25 September) is safe to race on but was rated a Heavy 8 from the section of the track after the winning post to approximately the 1500m point. The remainder of the track was rated a Soft 5 at the time of the inspection.
