RACE TWO

ALE ALE KAI (6) will be out to build on the picket fence with wins at her past 4 outings. Sent to the front last start over the mile after being crunched in the market, she never gave them a chance, controlling it and ripping home a 27.1 closer. This is another step-up, but she looks tough to stop.

SOULWRITER (7) started from inside the 2nd line over the mile 2 starts back and with the race developing into a scamper home, held on for the silver. Too far back last start, she was able to hit the line in good order and with this looking a little easier, she can overcome the tough gate.

SPECIAL RESERVE (3) will be further tightened from her latest outing when 2nd up from a spell. Taking the trail on MAJOR LUCKY, she held on for 3rd when 6m in arrears and is in the mix here.

IM NO OUTLAW (5) returns from a break to have his 1st outing as a 4YO. Closing out strongly from a 2nd line draw to score over the mile 2 starts back, he wasn’t suited last time and can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: ALE ALE KAI (6), SOULWRITER (7), SPECIAL RESERVE (3), IM NO OUTLAW (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ALE ALE KAI (6) to win

RACE THREE

KAY NORA SHANNON (2) started inside the 2nd line at her Qld debut when angled away early after a scrimmage to find the 1x1 trail. Holding on for 3rd, she will be fitter for the hit-out and has since trialled in good order. From the gate she gives the Prince of Peak Crossing the chance for a race-to-race double.

ALSJEANSMAXSSTAR (4) added another minor placing to his tally last start to make it placings in all 6 career starts to date. Working home strongly down the outside of the track, he was only a half-head away. Forced to work in the breeze 2 starts back, he can take an early shot and is right in the fight.

SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (9) has been thereabouts of late with a top-3 in 3 of his past 4 outings. Sent to the post as fav last start, he couldn’t reel them in late. With the right early trail, he can place again.

PETE MITCHELL (8) is a Caribbean Blaster 3YO on debut for the Mark Dux stable. Trialling twice in readiness for the debut, he will secure an easy trip here and finding some space can chime in.

SELECTIONS: KAY NORA SHANNON (2), ALSJEANSMAXSSTAR (4), SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (9), PETE MITCHELL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: KAY NORA SHANNON (2) to win

RACE FOUR

THE RAGNBONE MAN (10)
was 2nd up from a break here 2 starts back when finding gate 1 he looked to take them all the way. After a steady opening 800m section, he looked to increase the speed and was only grabbed in the closing stages, beaten a half-head. Forget his last start, in this open contest he is worth a ticket.

THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (9) settled in the pocket trail from gate 1 last start when sent to the post as the fav and just couldn’t reel in the winner WANJIRU when 4m from the winner. Forced to work wide off the track 2 starts back, if she can get the right cart into the contest, she has claims.

TORQUE TO THE MAX (2) was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when making the most of the passing lane. Things didn’t go to plan 2 starts back, with her latest a tidy 3rd to HALLY GUINEVERE and from the good alley she has claims.

ENARMOURED (7) has no favours from the wide gate and has been forced to work home from back in the pack in her races recently. Pressing ahead to get into the action, she is an exotic hope.

SELECTIONS: THE RAGNBONE MAN (10), THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (9), TORQUE TO THE MAX (2), ENARMOURED (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

In a race where there looks to be some solid front-line speed, the airborne STAR OF MONTANA (3) will settle nice and handy from this gate. A winner of his past 4 in succession, he attacked the line strongly off a hot tempo last start to set a new career PB. He can swoop hard to score again here.

CHANGE OF MIND (6) will take benefit from his latest run when 2nd up for the Turpin barn. Pressing on to find the front from gate 3, the speed was on all the way as he held on for a narrow victory. With the added fitness he can look to get across early and if finding the pegs will take some catching.

STOMPEM (2) is in nice touch, finishing in the money at his past 5 in succession including a win 3 starts back. Things didn’t really go as hoped last start, yet he was fighting hard behind GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT. He is in the mix.

HOT ROD HEAVEN (1) was crossed in the early stages last start from this same gate, finding himself buried along the pegs. Finding the line in good order when 4m in arrears in sharp time, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: STAR OF MONTANA (3), CHANGE OF MIND (6), STOMPEM (2), HOT ROD HEAVEN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: STAR OF MONTANA (3) to win

RACE SIX

After forming a successful partnership with the Lincoln Farms enterprise, trainer Al Barnes presents 3YO SIR TIGER (5) for his 1st Aus start. He arrives a two-time winner, the latest coming 3 starts back at Cambridge over 2200m when finishing strongly from the 1x1 trail to score. He finds a winnable race 1st up.

HIGH ON MONTANA (2) was locked away on the pegs from inside the 2nd line last start and when he saw some space was able to hit the line in good style when 5m from the winner. The start prior he was forced to do plenty of work in the run over the Redcliffe sprint trip. From the gate he has claims.

GUY LOOKS GOOD (4) steps out for the 1st time in his 3YO term after breaking his maiden tag at the last start of his 2YO season. Settling back in the pack, he hit the line strongly. The 2138m is a query.

BUNDJALUNG BEAUTY (3) went straight to the front over the sprint trip here last start and once in control, was never in danger, cruising home to a 10m victory. With the sped to lead she will be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: SIR TIGER (5), HIGH ON MONTANA (2), GUY LOOKS GOOD (4), BUNDJALUNG BEAUTY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR TIGER (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

JACKS AT THE BEACH (4) took on a qualifier over this trip 2 starts back when sent to the front from gate 3. Trying to control the speed and fight them off, THE ANNOUNCER was a bit too sharp with this guy holding on for 3rd when 5m in arrears. Forget his last start at the 2138m, he can look to dictate.

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (9) would be better suited if off the front line to utilise his blistering early speed, yet he does get the benefit of returning to the mile after his past 2 have been at the middle distance where his record is not great. He didn’t get the clearest path last start and can look to bounce back.

COREY WILLIAM (7) has no favours from the wide gate yet with good speed out of the machine can look to get forward. Grabbed late here 2 starts back, he has been freshened and is a place hope.

CLASSIE AMERICAN (8) started a short-priced elect last start and after an easy time in front wasn’t able to deliver the knockout, holding on for the bronze. He will be probing for the gaps here.

SELECTIONS: JACKS AT THE BEACH (4), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (9), COREY WILLIAM (7), CLASSIE AMERICAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

GETARATTLEON (1) was doing exactly that in the closing stages last start when having his 1st run since transferring to the Cini stable. Snagged back from a wide gate, he was a long way back before hitting the line strongly to grab 2nd. If able to hold the pocket trail, he can take the snipers shot.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (10) led them up last start with the front row ticket coming at the cost of a 27.5 sec opening panel. With the tempo on throughout, he faded in the closing stages. That was his 1st run back from a break and taking benefit from the hit-out can be much sharper this time around.

STUDLEIGH WILL (3) was a game winner last start when sent to the breeze and proving too strong to claim a new career PB. That made it wins in 2 of his past 3 and from the gate will be fighting hard.

RAGING INFERNO (5) rolled forward to cut the breeze last start from gate 7 and was in for the fight when falling 5m short. That followed a tough Redcliffe win and he will throw down some heat here.

SELECTIONS: GETARATTLEON (1), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (10), STUDLEIGH WILL (3), RAGING INFERNO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GETARATTLEON (1) to win

RACE NINE

A member of the raiding Morris team that plundered The Creek last week, MAJOR LUCKY (2) will be out to make it 2 from 2 on his Northern crusade. Going straight to the front over the 2138m last week, he was able to amble through the early sections and was never in danger. The repeat is on.

HEEZ PERFECT (9) will strip fitter following his latest outing when returning from a 12-month break and leading throughout in setting a new career benchmark. A talented performer that has been plagued by issues, his trial to prepare for the return was sharp and he can challenge in this.

KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (10) has no favours from the gate and has faced a few tough draws in recent starts. Looing to work home in the closing stages last start, look for him swooping again here.

MONTANA CHIEF (7) rolled the sleeves to do the hard yards in the breeze last start and with sub 28 opening and closing panels, was in for the fight, holding on for 3rd. The gate hurts but he can place.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR LUCKY (2), HEEZ PERFECT (9), KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (10), MONTANA CHIEF (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR LUCKY (2) to win
