Assistant Trainer - Paul Shailer

"I thought his first up run in Queensland at the Sunshine Coast was very good and he'd only have to improve marginally to be competitive here today and it proved to be true."

"There was good tempo early and he found a nice spot third the fence, they slackended off mid race but when asked to pick up on the point of the turn he travelled into in nicely and looked the winner a couple of hundred out."

"He's been a work in progress this horse he's very wintery in the coat, I think we could have a handy one with him."

Jockey - Robbie Fradd

"I got to a lovely spot on him and the first quarter of the race they ran along pretty quick, but I was always confident they would come back to us and he showed a lot of heart to make up those lengths and win."

"It's warm out there, but I come on in summer I don't have to warm up the old bones, but a big thanks to Chris Waller, Paul Shailer and their team tehy've done a great job with this horse and he's got a few more wins in him up here."

Jockey - Tegan Harrison

"I was at breakfast this morning and my manager sent me a message saying I'd picked up one in race two."

"It was quite ironic the ride I was originally booked Bon Costa had recently won the Murwillumbah Cup and the trainer scratched him because he thought it was going to be a soft track, where it's turned out perfect."

"I had no worries getting 54 kilos today I had a bit of food poisoning during the week, so weight was never an issue."

"Tony and I have had a lot of success over the years he's given me the majority of my city, group and listed winners and almost a couple of Group One's, so it's nice to be back riding for him today."

"The plan was to not ride as negatively as previously ridden and when she bounced and put herself there I just kept her in her rhythm and when she started sneaking closer I knew we were a big chance."

Jockey - Michael Murphy

"With a few of the scratchings this morning I thought we'd be half a chance, it's taken her every step but she got there."

"I wasn't set on sitting as handy as we did I just let her find her spot from the barriers and get travelling and she kept surging and hit the line strong."

"If I'm being honest I thought the other horse got up, it's always a nice surprise when you pull one off on the bob."

"I've been over in Europe seeing a bit of the world, it's just my second day back so I'm rapt to have a winner."

I-Dream-of-Green-1.jpg

Trainer - Stuart Kendrick

"He's been a horse that has always shown us a lot of promise, he's a well bred horse and we were pretty confident he could win first up at Ipswich and he's raised the bar today."

"I said to Steph he's got good speed out of the gates and you don't want to be too far off them today and she did a great job getting him there and rating him nicely."

"I think he's got it all together, he's a half to Pear Tart, so he's got the breeding behind him he's just started to mentally get a grasp on it."

Jockey - Steph Thornton

"We had the wide gate to overcome, but Stuart said to me prior he's always quick away and I just had to judge it on the pace from my inside and we got there pretty comfortably in the end."

"I think the reason we've seen so many front runners today is tempo related, so I made sure he got a nice breather from the half mile to the six hundred and when i asked him to quicken he really let down."

"It's been a great day for the family Boris (Brother) has not long come back from shoulder surgery and he's put the hard work in and got his first winner back for Steven O'Dea just earlier at the Gold Coast."

Meet-Mr-Taylor-1.jpg

Trainer - Kelly Schweida

"He gives you a fright hitting that flat spot at the top of the straight, but he gets going again and was travelling as well late as he did the trip."

"We trialled him on Tuesday and I think that's just taken a bit of zip out of him, because he's usually really switched on fresh."

"He'll run again here in a fortnight, we'll just take our time with him because we want to get that early speed back."

"I always have a moment when I think he's going to get rolled and he finds a second wind and i can breathe again, he's been like that his whole career but he keeps winning so i'm not complaining."

Jockey - Mark Du Plessis

"I think I've ridden six of those wins, he's at a place in his career where he's a bit complacent."

"He switched off while we were waiting in the gates and then again when we found the straight, but I think Kelly will keep him fresh before his next run and not trial him on Tuesday to switch him back on."

"I think he'd prefer a much softer track, but he just did enough to win today."

Assistant Trainer - Paul Shailer

"We forgot to put the blinkers on at Eagle Farm Last Start and she still won, we worked her with the blinkers on throughout the week and they've done the trick today."

"She's a work in progress she's struggled a little bit mentally in her preps, but when you get rides like that from Robbie today it gives you plenty of help."

"We've put a few things in place to help her get away better, but we're looking at picking up some black type somewhere along the way."

Jockey - Robbie Fradd

"There was plenty of space for me up the rail and just enough for the horse."

"I had no option but to sweat on the run, they all peeled wide and I wsn't about to go around them, fortunately the fence opened up and away she went."

"Normally she's not too effective up the inside, but once we got through the gap was wide enough she wasn't worried about the other horses around her."

Race 7 - 3:22PM JLL QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap (1110 METRES)

3rd - Magic Trick - Tony Sears - Michael Cahill

Gem-of-Scotland-1.jpg

Trainer - Rex Lipp

"She did what we wanted her to do she flew the barriers quick enough to be outside the leader which is where we wanted to be."

"She's still not cherry ripe yet there is plenty of fitness yet to come i'm looking forward to seeing her best."

"I'll see how she pulls up we may go down to Sydney for something, I haven't had a close enough look at the carnival at races she may be eligable for, there is a fillies race here for $72,000 in two weeks time we'll re-access then."

"I bred her myself so you take a lot of pride in what she's produced in her career so far, it's my job to find the right races moving forward."

Jockey - Jimmy Orman

"Ideally she is probably better off ridden with a bit of a sit, but with the way the track is playing and the opposition we decided to go forward."

"She did it tough, I'd ridden the second horse Written With Ease in trackwork and knew it would be coming it was a good job first up."

Race 8 - 4:02PM BENTLEYS Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 6 Handicap (1350 METRES)

2nd - Auerbach - Chris Waller - Robbie Fradd

3rd - Enterprise Prince - Michael Lakey - Mark Du Plessis

Langhro-1.jpg

Trainer - Steven O'Dea

"The plan was obviously to roll along in front, that's his style and it's a leaders track today but the other jockeys knew that and didn't let us have it easy."

"I was a bit nervous he might be running on empty in the straight, but he'd kicked away far enough to hit the line first."

"His first prep with me which was his last was actually his longest prep he probably got a bit tired towards the end."

"He's a lightly raced seven year old and this time in he's only going to mature that little bit more than previous preps."

"He'll continue through the grades and we might look at some black type towards the end of his prep."

Jockey - Michael Cahill

"Strangely enough he's a better horse when he rolls along in front, he doesn't like it when something comes and eyeballs him."

"He's got a very high cruising speed that gets a lot of his rivals off the bit, they closed on us a little late but he had the race won at the 200."
