RACE TWO

TUAPEKA LIGHT (2) started in red figures last start as she had looked to have found her race but as she loomed up in the stretch, couldn’t repel the finishing power of HIPSTAR. That made it 5 successive placings since her 1st up Qld win and with even luck can bounce back.

MISS BLUE GLORY (9) was buried away in the run last start after starting from inside the 2nd line and from there was never able to find the space to work into it. Her run 3 starts back over the mile was a strong effort from the breeze when 3m from the winner and this suits.

ZARAS DANCE (7) has the wide gate to negotiate but will take good benefit from her 1t up run in Qld. Settling in the 1x1 she packed too many guns late to score. She has place hopes.

THE MONEY BALL (3) resumes from a spell after winning in 3YO company right at the start of the season. Not asked for much in a recent trial, he can settle handy and has place hopes

SELECTIONS: TUAPEKA LIGHT (2), MISS BLUE GLORY (9), ZARAS DANCE (7), THE MONEY BALL (3)

SUGGESTED BET: TUAPEKA LIGHT (2) to win

RACE THREE

BRONSKI MACARENA (1) is on debut and hails from one of Queensland’s greatest maternal families. By Mach Three she is out of Bronski Gorgeous who has produced 8 individual winners of over 100 races from 9 foals to race. She has trialled in good order and has the gate to capitalise.

MISS LILY MAY (2) took on older horses in a recent trial in slick time and wasn’t asked to go with them. The 2YOs turned out by Cristina Monte are always well educated and ready to race and has already produce a Roll With Joe to win in the shape of MIRABAI.

REDS GOOD TO GO (10) is on debut and ranks as a half to the multiple winners RED CHARMER, RANI MAJOR amongst a strong family. He has trialled well and must include.

LOVELAINE (4) is the most experienced in the field having been to the races on 4 occasions already. A passing lane 2nd here 2 starts back, she can call on her experience to feature.

SELECTIONS: BRONSKI MACARENA (1), MISS LILY MAY (2), REDS GOOD TO GO (10), LOVELAINE (4)

SUGGESTED BET: BRONSKI MACARENA (1) to win

RACE FOUR

SCORCHED (10) is in great touch and lines up for the hat-trick after successive wins at the 2138m stand. Taking the pocket trail last start he packed too many guns in the closing stages to claim a 6m victory. The 30m mark will be a test, but his form can see him home.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (11) started fav last time out against the open trotters from a 10m tape over the longer 2647m trip. Settling in the running line she couldn’t work into it as EMPIRE BAY was able to control the race from the front. A tough 2nd 2 starts back she can challenge.

SHADY SADIE (7) was forced to breeze last start and with that not really her preferred pattern she was able to fight on gamely when only 7m away. With a better position in transit she is in the mix.

MISS INVASION (3) looks to complete a hat-trick of victories after wining from the mobile at her past 2. This is a step up in what she has been meeting but with a safe start can feature

SELECTIONS: SCORCHED (10), QUIETLY SPOKEN (11), SHADY SADIE (7), MISS INVASION (3)

SUGGESTED BET: SHADY SADIE (7) each-way

RACE FIVE

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (3) has ben racing well but just not getting conditions to suit in recent starts in FFA company. Last start was an improved effort from the walk-up where she worked home well for the bronze. With good early speed she can find position to capitalise.

GANGSTER BOY (5) had an issue last start that saw him fade out badly after working triple time in the early stages. The start prior over the mile he led them up and was grabbed in the closing stages by SIR JULIAN. The 2138m is his trip and rolling forward can bounce back hard.

WATCH PULP FICTION (7) has the tricky gate to negotiate but with versatility to call on can be a closing threat. Runner-up his past 2 starts, the latest when beaten a lip, he is a danger.

BODHI TREE (8) has the early options as the lone 2nd line runner and can look to work away from the pegs if needed. Racing better than his returns suggest, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (3), GANGSTER BOY (5), WATCH PULP FICTION (7), BODHI TREE (8)

SUGGESTED BET: SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (3) to win

RACE SIX

POLISHED ROCKS (2) will be further tightened from his latest appearance when 2nd up from a break. Starting from gate 12 he was a long way back in the pack and chasing against the tempo. With good early speed he can pounce on the pegs and look to take advantage.

FIOKI (1) was buried away here on Sat night from inside the 2nd line and was finding the line in good style when the gaps appeared. A strong finisher when saved for a closing shot, he should get the perfect trip and be ready to take the snipers shot here.

LINCOLN ROAD (8) bounced back to winning form here on Sat night when sent straight to the front and was never in danger when running a career PB. The gate makes it tricky here but if sighting space he can arrive.

SOMETHING EYRE (4) has some ordinary numbers next to his name, but has only started twice since resuming from a spell and has excuses in each. Trialling nicely since the 2nd up run he has claims.

SELECTIONS: POLISHED ROCKS (2), FIOKI (1), LINCOLN ROAD (8), SOMETHING EYRE (4)

SUGGESTED BET: POLISHED ROCKS (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

THATS HOW WEROLL (1) is still looking for open space from the race here last week. Ending up 3 back against the markers from inside the 2nd line he never saw space at any stage. The start prior he hit the line strongly and with better luck here can look to take the closing shot.

TUESDAYS FELLA (9) wasn’t suited from gate 6 last start when snagging back and was then too far back to make a challenge with the speed dictated in front. His run 2 starts back was full of merit when only beaten 4m after never getting a full shot at them. He can feature.

NEWPORT DREAMZ (4) rolled forward from gate 6 last start and was working in the breeze when holding on for the bronze behind the subsequent Sat night winner MACHEASY. Using his early speed this looks within reach.

SHILAH (8) was charging home last start after being buried away in the run and went within a head of victory. That followed a tidy win and saved for one shot he will be sprinting hard.

SELECTIONS: THATS HOW WEROLL (1), TUESDAYS FELLA (9), NEWPORT DREAMZ (4), SHILAH (8)

SUGGESTED BET: THATS HOW WEROLL (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

ROLLING ALONG (10) has the tough gate to overcome here but strikes the right type of race that looks wide-open. Starting from the 2nd line at his past 5 in succession, he tracked home strongly wide off the track at Redcliffe last start to grab the silver. With even luck he can go one better.

FAMOUS SHOES (2) was 1st to the pegs before releasing over the Redcliffe 2040m trip last start and held on to be 9m from the winner SUBTLE ADVICE. He has faced some tough gates prior to the that run and with the speed to take early advantage can look to break his AP maiden.

HERITAGE BEACH (5) was wide off the track last start when working and could only manage a mid-field finish as the fav. The start prior was a tough effort from the breeze and he has claims.

TAYLAH STUDLEIGH (9) worked in the breeze at her Qld debut over the Redcliffe sprint trip and held on to finish mid-field. With the right early trail here look for her to return a sharper effort.

SELECTIONS: ROLLING ALONG (10), FAMOUS SHOES (2), HERITAGE BEACH (5), TAYLAH STUDLEIGH (9)

SUGGESTED BET:
