RACE TWO

NOVENA ROSE (10) was snagged back from gate 4 last start and when asked for the late challenge was winding up and hitting the line strongly to get within 1.5m of the winner. The start prior she worked hard in the run and with a strong up-front tempo in this can look to swoop over the top.

VELOCE BELLA (1) was a winner here 4 starts back from this same gate when leading them throughout. Her next 2 runs were in much stronger company from tough draws and then her latest start was again lining up against stronger opponents. With the good gate she will fight hard.

UNASSUMING CHAMP (5) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins from gate 10 over this trip. In both runs he has pressed forward to take up the running and he will throw down the challenge.

KAANAPALI (7) was a winner here 2 starts back when taking them all the way from gate 1. Doing his share of early work last start when mid-field, the cosy trip here suits and he will be probing for gaps.

SELECTIONS: NOVENA ROSE (10), VELOCE BELLA (1), UNASSUMING CHAMP (5), KAANAPALI (7)
SUGGESTED BET: NOVENA ROSE (10) to win

RACE THREE

WEASEL (2) started from the 2nd line last start and was working home strongly to grab the bronze when under 2m from the winner. This is the best gat he has seen in some time and if able to hustle hard in the early stages, can look for the pegs and if able to pinch a panel might just sneak away with the loot.

MORROCH BAY (9) showed an improved effort last start when working home in good order over the 1780m trip to grab 2nd when only 2m from the winner. His previous 2 starts over the AP mile saw him beaten big margins and if saved for the last shot here can be steaming home.

SPLASH OF GOLD (10) has no favours from this alley but with the right cart into the contest can look to offer late. Last start she was making good late metres and will be looking to repeat that here.

CROCODILE PRINCESS (4) rolled forward to the breeze from a 2nd line gate last start and was in for the fight when 7m from the winner. Too far back the start prior she can be around the money here.

SELECTIONS: WEASEL (2), MORROCH BAY (9), SPLASH OF GOLD (10), CROCODILE PRINCESS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WEASEL (2) to win

RACE FOUR

HEAVENS HURRICANE (2)
was able to find the pocket trail from gate 5 last start and ran home well when 5m from the winner. Not suited when working in the breeze the start prior, his run 3 back was a tidy effort when starting from gate 11 over the mile. With the speed to lead, he can fight them off.

THE HARLEM HAMMER (1) looked to have found her race here 2 starts back when landing the ace. Opting to look for an all the way win, she was grabbed in the closing stages by JACKS AT THE BEACH. Taking on a mares qualifier last start she couldn’t find early position and from this gate can go close.

EARL JUJON (7) will get the cosy trip here and be probing for the openings to take a shot in the stretch. He found the line strongly last start from a long way back and will be ready to fire late bullets.

GOODTIME STRIDE (4) found the 1x1 last start and chased home in good order to hold 3rd. A strong winner here 4 starts back when wide off the track, she can be chiming in late in this.

SELECTIONS: HEAVENS HURRICANE (2), THE HARLEM HAMMER (1), EARL JUJON (7), GOODTIME STRIDE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: HEAVENS HURRICANE (2) to win

RACE FIVE

JUST TOMMY (1) should be tightened now following 3 runs back from a spell and lands the right gate to capitalise from here. Locked on the pegs over the 2138m trip when resuming he chased home soundly and then made an error 2nd up. With good early speed he can look to dictate.

SPONDOOLEY (9) has been in the money at his past 2 starts, the latest a tough effort. Rolling forward to have a look for the pegs from gate 3, he was forced to work in the breeze when the lead wasn’t there. Fighting on gamely he held on for the bronze. With even luck he will be charging late.

SWAFFHAM WATER (5) made the most of gate 1 last start over this trip and repelling the early challenge was able to lead throughout. It will be a little harder from this gate but she is in the mix.

ON THAT DAY (6) has been runner-up at her past 2 starts with both runs tough efforts from wide gates. Rolling to the breeze from this gate last start she was fighting when 2m from the winner.

SELECTIONS: JUST TOMMY (1), SPONDOOLEY (9), SWAFFHAM WATER (5), ON THAT DAY (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

TEARAWAY DIAMOND (5)
led them up at his Qld debut over the AP mile at the expense of a 27.8 opener and then a 27.9 third split. That was his 1st run since December and with his condition fading was grabbed late. Finding to the front from gate 4 last start he was too strong and can look to repeat.

HERITAGE BEACH (10) has placed in 3 of his past 4 starts with the latest when grabbed right on the line when looking to lead throughout. Setting a good speed from the front over the AP mile he went within a half-neck of the prize. Tough from the breeze here 3 starts back he is right in the fight.

GUTS (8) led them up last start, a position he had not seen for a long time. Fighting on he was 7.5m from the winner ELMS CREEK. This is much easier and with the right trip can feature.

KEARNEY LANE (2) started fav last time out and sent to the front in a slick opener was stung and couldn’t finish it off. A good beginner, if finding a forward shot more cheaply she can podium.

SELECTIONS: TEARAWAY DIAMOND (5), HERITAGE BEACH (10), GUTS (8), KEARNEY LANE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: TEARAWAY DIAMOND (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

MADAMOISELLE JUJON (8) was an emergency for the fillies Triad consolation however didn’t get the run. A debut winner at AP under the walk-up when able to get forward and take control from gate 5, she was then able to run home a strong 800m to score. Grabbed on the line 2nd up, she can take this.

TAXI METER (6) started from the extreme alley in the Triad final on Sat night and looking for luck up the pegs returned a tidy effort against the quality opponents. Forget his previous start when making an error that ended his night, he can get forward here and will throw down a strong challenge.

STYLISH FEELING (3) didn’t get the cleanest run last start when not far from the winner. The start prior she was a long way back in the pack and settling closer in this can be in the money.

WILD ABOUT TOWN (2) will start from the inside alley and with the cosy trip on offer can be probing for the gaps. With the cheap run he can chime into the exotics at a big price.

SELECTIONS: MADAMOISELLE JUJON (8), TAXI METER (6), STYLISH FEELING (3), WILD ABOUT TOWN (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

MONTEREY JACK (3)
did plenty of work in the run last start when sent forward from the 2nd line over the AP mile and the hard run took its toll when he couldn’t go on with it late. The start prior he started fav when only beaten 3m and hustling to find the pegs here can handle this opposition.

LIGHTHORSE (1) made the most of the walk-up conditions last start when leading them u and looking to go all the way. Fading late to finish mid-field it was a sound effort and improvement from previous starts following a freshen. With the ace gate he can get the cosy trip to offer late.

DATSGOOD (7) started a very short priced fav last start and didn’t fire a shot when beaten 16m. A beaten fav at her past 3 starts now since winning 4 back, she should enjoy an easier run here.

CHEYENNE AUTUMN (8) grabbed the silver here 3 starts back when leading throughout and grabbed in the closing stages. Well beaten at her past 2, she can get the right trail early here to chime in late.

SELECTIONS: MONTEREY JACK (3), LIGHTHORSE (1), DATSGOOD (7), CHEYENNE AUTUMN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTEREY JACK (3) to win

RACE NINE

NIFTY STUDLEIGH (4)
started from gate 5 last start when floating forward but was unable to find a position. Dropping back into the running line he was then closing out strongly in the latter stages to grab the bronze behind ROCKNROLL CLASSIC. He can get forward here and looks to get his chance.

ZARAS BEAUTY (9) will strip fitter following her latest start when resuming from a break and having her 1st start in Qld. Moved away from the pegs and working home wide off the track she found the line in good order to finish 3rd. With even luck in transit this could be the maiden breaking win.

FEELING FABULOUS (5) returns to start her 3YO term after a 2YO season that returned 1 placing from 7 attempts. Given a steady trial to prepare for the return she can chime in here.

WHATA STRIDE (3) has place on 12 occasions this season in her total of 15 placings as she still searches for an elusive win. From this alley she can get forward and will be fighting on.

SELECTIONS: NIFTY STUDLEIGH (4), ZARAS BEAUTY (9), FEELING FABULOUS (5), WHATA STRIDE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: NIFTY STUDLEIGH (4) to win
