RACE TWO

ROCKNHOLME (6) returns from a let up enforced by the wet weather, with his last appearance when making a costly error at the start that lands him the ODM embargo. Fired off the arm to lead two starts back, he couldn’t finish it off as the star LEAP TO FAME powered home, but this looks suitable.

JACKBKWIK (7) settled in the running line here last start but could not get warm over the closing stages when down the line behind LAVAZZA. Out of the money his past three in succession which had followed a hat-trick of wins, he will be needing a slice of luck to get into open air to challenge.

RAINBOW JET (8) looked to have every conceivable last start from gate 2, finding the front pain free and then securing a 62.5 opening half. Only able to claim 3rd, this is easier again.

IMA BEACH BABE (1) had gate 1 last start at Marburg and fired out over the 1850m trip. Despite a steady opening half of just 63.4, she was unable to see it out. The gate aids her podium hopes.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNHOLME (6), JACKBKWIK (7), RAINBOW JET (8), IMA BEACH BABE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNHOLME (6) to win

RACE THREE

LA PISTOLA (3)
has ticked over nine months since he last stated victory, with three of his four career wins secured when settling in the trail. With the speed to find the pegs first here, the option for a trail presents and following his last start Marburg 2nd, he can look to capitalise.

CHAL BE (5) grabbed 2nd at his Aus debut three starts back off the back of a spell when using the passing lane for a 4m 2nd to CALVERT HOT SHOT. Asked to work hard second up, he was sent for a freshen and again worked hard when parked after a seven-week break. This looks an easier task.

KING KULAFU (6) is a newcomer to the Darrel Graham stable and was last seen at Tamworth when finishing at the rear after making a starting error. A winner three starts back, he stays under watch.

KILLER DRAGON (1) secured the pocket trail from inside the second line last time out and then had the speed to arrive for a half-neck margin. With another cosy trip, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LA PISTOLA (3), CHAL BE (5), KING KULAFU (6), KILLER DRAGON (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LA PISTOLA (3) to win

RACE FOUR

NON PASSARE (5)
fired off the gate to take control last start over the AP mile before releasing the tempo for the trail. Unable to finish it off when finishing at the rear, his effort here three starts back was good when holding 3rd. Despite battles with his consistency, this looks within his grasp.

JANG PEL (1) was asked to grind it out here two starts back and only faded in the latter stages as TRIOLI claimed the prize. Not suited from the tapes when locked away on the poles at Marburg at his next appearance, he comes up with the chance for the perfect trip to issue a closing challenge.

BARBOO (6) was a winner here three starts back when pressing on to find the front and then lead throughout from gate 3. Runner-up last start from the second line, the gate stings his chances.

ABBEY DIADEMA (8) will be resuming from a spell after her last appearance was back in November when down the line behind CROWN MOJO. This contest is a good starting point for her prep.

SELECTIONS: NON PASSARE (5), JANG PEL (1), BARBOO (6), ABBEY DIADEMA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: NON PASSARE (5) to win

RACE FIVE

FREMARKSINDI (8) was trying to secure a more forward position from a tough gate last start before settling in the running line but could not get warm in the closing stages. Sound to the line the start prior when chasing VERMONT, in an open race, she can overcome another tough gate.

TAKE IN THE GOLD (6) returns to Qld to join the Dixon stable where he was previously prepared to a win and two minors in six attempts. His form has waned at his most recent starts in Tasmania and despite being first up in over seven weeks, at his best, this race would be well within reach.

ALLY PINK (1) has good early speed and lands the gate to be in the firing line in the early stages. Taking the trail and soon buried last start, settling closer can improve her chances.

JILLIBY GIZMO (9) pinged off the tapes last start at Marburg and from the front was able to take them all the way to claim a heat of the Goldstrike. Backing up from Saturday’s Nanango Show, he has claims here.

SELECTIONS: FREMARKSINDI (8), TAKE IN THE GOLD (6), ALLY PINK (1), JILLIBY GIZMO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: FREMARKSINDI (8) to win

RACE SIX

FORGIVE ME (3)
settled in the 1x1 trail from s a second line alley at Marburg last start when finishing 6m in arrears of the winner to claim 3rd. Asked to grind it out when midfield behind subsequent winner FAIREACHDAINN two starts back, she can get forward to look for the loot.

METAKI MAJIC (5) resumes from a spell and should appreciate this level of contest for her first up assignment. Fading after working hard when sent to sit parked last start, she was asked to graft it out in similar fashion the start prior when down the line behind MAGGIE. She can be sharper here.

MY ULTIMATE CLIPPA (7) sat in the pocket trail here last start when holding on for the silver over the 2040m finishing 7m in arrears of the winner. Placed in 3 of his past 4, he can chalk up another.

PAGO PAGO (1) lands the option from the ace and should appreciate an improved alley after facing a strong of tough alleys in recent starts.

SELECTIONS: FORGIVE ME (3), METAKI MAJIC (5), MY ULTIMATE CLIPPA (7) PAGO PAGO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FORGIVE ME (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

TURN TURN FLYER (8)
is on the back-up from Saturday night where he looks a solid chance to cash-in.  Striding up strongly on the home turn two starts back, he was unable to finish it off in the stretch when midfield. Grabbing 3rd when a beaten favourite here three back, he might be able sneak home.

WILLSINTOWN (2)
has been without a victory since November, ono that occasion he was able to power home over the top from the running line. Blessed with great gate speed when asked for it, this could be the race to fire off the arm and with the right trip, a baker’s dozen of career wins is within reach.

WHATA CHALLENGE (9) has the tough gate and has not really threatened since resuming from a spell, but he finds himself in the right type of contest. With even luck in transit, he can improve.

LORD DENZEL (3) is another of the Ricky Gordon runners that will be on the Nanango Show back up and although hosting some plain form numbers, he can be handy enough to chime in here.

SELECTIONS: TURN TURN FLYER (8), WILLSINTOWN (2), WHATA CHALLENGE (9), LORD DENZEL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TURN TURN FLYER (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

ALWAYS AT NIGHT (5)
has worked his way into some form and claimed victory here three starts back when settled in the running line and then owning the best closing speed. Overcoming a tough second line gate at Marburg last start, he can look to add another win to the tally.

ELLE JAY (1) started from gate 3 last start at Marburg and after setting the speed was out of bullets turning for home and faded back through the pack as ALWAYS AT NIGHT arrived. The gate helps.

LITTLEDEE (7) was sent to sit parked last start from gate 5 with the tough trip taking its toll as she faded. 4m from the winner after being buried here three back and grabbing the silver, she can be probing.

GRETELS GIRL (9) has no favours from the gate but has not been too far from them in recent starts. Grabbed late after setting the speed here two starts back, she can be chiming into the action.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS AT NIGHT (5), ELLE JAY (1), LITTLEDEE (7), GRETELS GIRL (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYS AT NIGHT (5) to win
