Following a Thursday morning track inspection, the Quilpie Diggers' Race Club non-TAB Cup meeting scheduled for Saturday, April 30, has been abandoned.
Approximately 20mm of rain has fallen this week at the track, causing a number of areas of concern on the track, making it unsuitable for racing.
The club will conduct a “phantom” betting meeting at the racecourse of Saturday with all facilities available.
The Quilpie DRC’s next non-TAB race meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, featuring the Quilpie Battle of the Bush Qualifier, with the Quilpie Cup now set to feature at that meeting, along with two additional races.
The amended race program is:
- 2022 Battle of the Bush Quilpie Qualifier Open Hcp - 1200m - $10,000
- Quilpie Cup Benchmark 60 Hcp - 1586m - $15,000
- Benchmark 65 Hcp - 1350m - $8,500
- Class 4 Plate (sw) - 1200m - $8,500
- Benchmark 55 Hcp - 1100m - $8,500
- Benchmark 50 Hcp - 1350m - $8,500
- Maiden Plate (2yo & up sw) (QTIS Bonuses applicable) - 1100m - $8,500
