RACE TWO

MATATOKI (6) has been a model of consistency and been in the money at his past 8 in succession, including a pair of wins. Pressing on to find the front from his 20m tape he set a sharp closing 800m and was only grabbed on the line by MAYBETOTHEMAX. With great manners he looks hard to stop.

SCORCHED (3) will be further tightened from his latest start when grabbing the bronze behind MAYBETOTHEMAX. 2 starts back he used the passing lane to be within 5m of the winner and now that he has had 4 runs back from a spell, the added fitness can see him throw down a challenge.

JETER (1) finished mid-field here 2 starts back when looking to lead all the way from the front tape. Too far back from a 50m tape at Redcliffe last start, he can give plenty of cheek from the front here.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (8) has the big impost to overcome at his 1st run back from a freshen. Striking trouble in the run last start, that had followed a tough run in the breeze. He is still in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MATATOKI (6), SCORCHED (3), JETER (1), NORTHERN MUSCLE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-6-8

RACE THREE

It will be best to forget the latest start of TARGARYEN HANOVER (2) where he took on the star in the making EXPENSIVE EGO on Sat night in the APG Brisbane Sale Final. 2 starts back he loomed up and looked set to score when grabbed right on the wire. With good early speed, today can be the day.

BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (7) has beaten herself at her past 2 starts since joining the Chantal Turpin barn. Fading out last start after setting the early speed, the start prior she caused a false start and ended her chances. A hot filly that gets very keen, if she can relax, she has the talent to feature.

GUY LOOKS GOOOD (5) will take benefit from his latest start when returning from a break. From gate 6 he didn’t have an answer for EXPENSIVE EGO, bit back to maiden company has claims.

THE HUMMER (1) is on debut for Peter Donohoe, with the Hurrikane Kingcole colt showing some nice manners in a recent trial. From the good alley, he can be thereabouts at his 1st outing.

SELECTIONS: TARGARYEN HANOVER (2), BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (7), GUY LOOKS GOOOD (5), THE HUMMER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TARGARYEN HANOVER (2) to win

RACE FOUR

SPEECH IS SILVER (11)
lived up to the hype he had created after a pair of impressive trials and proved far too slick in his 1st Qld appearance. Given plenty of time to balance up, he pressed on to find the front and once in control, was never tested in an easy win. He looks too sharp again.

KEY LARGO (10) has been in great form and if there are any chinks in the fav 2nd up, he can be there to exploit them. Pressing on to find the front last start, he was able to fight them off and claim a deserved victory. Runner-up at 4 of his previous 5, he can be in the firing line in this.

THATS HOW WEROLL (3) has been a hard watch for his supporters in recent starts, being plagued by bad gates and devoid of luck in transit. With an improved gate he might just sneak into the money.

MOTU RAMPAGE (2) caught the eye last start when snagged back from gate 6 he was then making a solid play wide out to get within 4m of the winner. With the improved gate, he has claims and is one to follow.

SELECTIONS: SPEECH IS SILVER (11), KEY LARGO (10), THATS HOW WEROLL (3), MOTU RAMPAGE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 11/ 2-3-5-10

RACE FIVE

ROYAL LINCOLN (4) struck trouble in the run last start when starting from gate 11 and was finding the line in good style when 6m from TENNYSON BROMAC. 2 starts back he grabbed the bronze when only 2m away in the 4YO Championship and from the improved gate he looks to get his chance.

MARETTI (8) should find this much easier than recent starts after campaigning on the Sat night circuit. Locked on the pegs last start, he wasn’t far from the winner ARGYLE BEACH which had followed a close effort behind SECRET JACK, both of which have since won again. Just needs some luck from the tricky alley.

SKYFELLA CAM (2) settled in the 1x1 trail last start when returning from a freshen and just couldn’t go with them when the speed went on behind ONE HELL OF A RIDE. Firing an early shot, he is in the mix.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (3) charged home from back in the pack here 2 starts back when snagged back from gate 7 to arrive for the prize. Only 2m in arrears last start, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL LINCOLN (4), MARETTI (8), SKYFELLA CAM (2), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL LINCOLN (4) to win

RACE SIX

ITS JUST KENNY (5) started from gate 11 last start and didn’t have the best run in transit when not far from the winner SECRET JACK after finding the line in good order over the 2138m trip. The start prior he chased home from the 2nd line behind A GOOD CHANCE and back to this grade looks hard to stop.

FIOKI (2) found running line cover last start from gate 4 and was sound to the line to hold on for 3rd behind the dictating winner IAMBOOGIE. Not suited the start prior in a slippery mile claimed by ONE HELL OF A RIDE, he can settle handy to the speed here and look to offer late.

TOP TRIO (1) hoisted the wide flag last start after a torrid run with an electric closing 800m taking its toll. With an improved gate he will get the options and can be much sharper against these.

LIVING AGAIN (6) struck trouble last start that ended his outing prematurely. The start prior he was good to the line when 7m from A GOOD CHANCE and despite the gate has claims here.

SELECTIONS: ITS JUST KENNY (5), FIOKI (2), TOP TRIO (1), LIVING AGAIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ITS JUST KENNY (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Despite landing a tough gate and yet to win in Qld, this race looks to profile well for RENEE DALE (12). Having an early look on Fri but not quite finding position, she wasn’t too far from the winner TOMMY UNDER FIRE. 6m off the winner in a mares qualifier 2 back, with the right cart home she might just arrive.

NADEEN FRANCO (1) has been plagued by some tough gates on her Qld Winter campaign, with her latest start a luckless run when only 4m from the winner LINCOLNS GIRL after not getting a clear crack at them. 2m from MELANNA BEACH here 3 starts back, with the good gate she gets a chance.

MISS BLUE GLORY (8) proved too strong in the breeze here 2 starts back when angled from the pegs and put into the contest in scoring a new benchmark rate. Wide off the track at Marburg last start, she can enjoy a soft trip here.

THE MONEY BALL (9) has been thereabouts of late from some tricky alleys, the latest when closing strongly to be 4m from the winner. With the early option of a cheap peg run, look for him charging home late.

SELECTIONS: RENEE DALE (12), NADEEN FRANCO (1), MISS BLUE GLORY (8), THE MONEY BALL (9)
SUGGESTED BET:
