RACE TWO

SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (4) has 3 placings to his name and with all of those recorded here on the triangle, might just find this a shade easier than recent outings as he searches for a maiden breaking success. Striking trouble 2 starts back, he was a neat 2nd over the 2040m 3 back and gets his chance.

RANCHO MAN (6) has the tough gate to overcome, yet his past 2 have been handy efforts. Taking on the Marburg Derby last start, he was 1st to the pegs and with a cosy trip behind the leader, went within a neck of victory. This is easier than what he met here 2 back and he is a threat.

CHASIN DREAMZ (3) transfers to the Chantal Turpin stable and will appreciate getting back to her own age here. Too far back last start, she has had a string of tough gates and can be sharper here.

SURFER JOE (2) has been to the races 3 times this campaign with the runs spaced, lining up here 4 weeks since his last outing. With good early speed he can fire the 1st shot and has exotic hopes.

SELECTIONS: SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (4), RANCHO MAN (6), CHASIN DREAMZ (3), SURFER JOE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (4) to win

RACE THREE

In a tricky maiden contest to assess, ASHLEE NITRO (2) gets top billing by way of an improved alley after facing some tricky gates in recent outings. Buried away 3 starts back after starting inside the 2nd line, she closed out well behind CALL ME TRISH. If able to get to the pegs 1st, today could be the day.

BELLA BLONDIE (9) will take benefit from her latest start when having just her 3rd career start and 1st run back from a spell. Finding the pocket trail from the 2nd line, she closed out nicely along the passing lane to be 3m from the winner. With the added experience she won’t be too far away.

FRANCO NEVAEH (10) should take enormous benefit from his run here last week when having just his 2nd race start, 3 years after his initial outing. Sent to the breeze, he fought on well and can show further improvement here.

SHAKIN SHAKIRA (3) was crossed in the early stages at her Qld debut at Marburg on Sunday and then couldn’t go when the sprint went on. Fitter for the outing she can be sharper in this.

SELECTIONS: ASHLEE NITRO (2), BELLA BLONDIE (9), FRANCO NEVAEH (10), SHAKIN SHAKIRA (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

TORQUE FEELS GOOD (3)
made the most of conditions at Marburg last start when finding the front from gate 3 and after a steady opening 800m of the last mile, had too much in reserve to claim a 5m victory. Grabbed late in a much stronger contest 2 starts back at AP, she can look to dictate again.

FEELING CLASSY (1) will be further tightened from her latest start when 4th up from over two years away from the track. Capitalising on gate 1, she was able to take them all the way and break her maiden tag over the 1780m trip. Stepping up to the middle distance for the 1st time, she options.

MONTANA EXPRESS (6) shoots for the hattrick after successive wins at the 1780m and then the 2040m trip. Rolling to the breeze last start from gate 6, he fought hard to claim a head margin and can give this a shake.

ARBIT MAJOR (5) should find this a shade or two easier than recent outings, despite the tough alley. Not far away behind MAJOR GENERALJUON from the 2nd line last start, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE FEELS GOOD (3), FEELING CLASSY (1), MONTANA EXPRESS (6), ARBIT MAJOR (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE FEELS GOOD (3) to win

RACE FIVE

Facing a sharp class drop and fitter from his 1st start after a long break, SIR MACADOR (9) gets into this contest nicely. Angled to the pegs from the 2nd line when 1st up, he worked home well to grab the bronze behind TOMMY UNDER FIRE. He only needs an even slice of luck to arrive in this.

FLYING WINGARD (10) has been thereabouts in stronger races of late, the latest when finishing within 6m of COBBLER ROAD to hold on for 3rd. Grabbed on the line when looking to take them all the way 2 starts back over the AP mile, he can look to make career start 50 a profitable one.

COAST WARNING (1) worked home strongly from gate 10 here 2 starts back to power past them and take a 22m victory in handy time. A tidy 3rd last start at AP, he can capitalise on the ace gate here.

DONT CALL ME (2) found his race here 5 starts back against softer opponents when packing too many guns in the breeze. 3 back he was a handy 2nd to LIFES BLACK and can place in this.

SELECTIONS: SIR MACADOR (9), FLYING WINGARD (10), COAST WARNING (1), DONT CALL ME (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR MACADOR (9) to win

RACE SIX

AUNTY BESSY (1) features in a stable change and will line-up for Donny Smith for the 1st time. Fading under the pressure last start when sitting outside the talented up-and-comer SPEECH IS SILVER, her previous run in the breeze was solid when 3rd and only 2m in arrears. This looks ideal.

SWAFFHAM WATER (7) settled in a handy spot here 2 starts back and with the right trip was able to finish hard in the closing stages to get within a half-head of victory. Too far back last start, she will appreciate the mares only conditions and with the cosy trip can look to take the closing shot.

TASSINI (5) has the wide gate to negotiate here but will find this much easier than recent outings. Luckless when only 9m from BRADNESS ELDEFUEGO last start, she looms as a genuine chance.

ANNAS BEST (8) had a look for the front last start but was repelled before finishing down the line. Only grabbed in the closing stages when leading them up 2 starts back, she can get a soft trip here.

SELECTIONS: AUNTY BESSY (1), SWAFFHAM WATER (7), TASSINI (5), ANNAS BEST (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-7-8

RACE SEVEN

With speed out of the machine to match his name, HEZ RAZOR SHARP (1) will pounce on the poles and look to dictate from the ace. Taking on a qualifier last start, he wasn’t suited when forced to retreat, with his previous 2 handy efforts that had followed successive wins. He can bounce back.

AINTNOBETTOR (7) started from this same gate over this same trip last time and after securing the cosy run in transit, packed too many guns up the passing lane to score. Not suited when trying to work home from the rear his previous 2, he will be coiled and ready to strike in the stretch.

MISS PATRIOT (4) was banished to the trials last start after a succession of below par efforts. A smart winner 5 runs back, both trials have been solid enough to suggest that the issues are resolved.

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (9) will be fitter for the latest outing when returning from a let-up. Finding the pocket trail over the sprint trip, he only faded in the closing stages. With the right cart home, he has exotic hopes.

SELECTIONS: HEZ RAZOR SHARP (1), AINTNOBETTOR (7), MISS PATRIOT (4), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: HEZ RAZOR SHARP (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

HAPPY FEELINGS (7)
looked to take them all the way last start over the sprint trip when grabbed up the passing lane by AINTNOBETTOR. Her run 2 back was a nice effort when not far from the in-form SECRETAGENT TYCOON and with the benefit of the soft trip here can make the closing shot a winner.

BROADWATER (1) looked to have found his race last start over the AP sprint trip and from gate 3 was able to pounce on the pegs and get away with a steady opening 800m. Unable to fight them off, he wilted. A passing lane 2nd to AQUA MISS 2 runs back, he will be gripping on again.

PROJECTILE (8) started from gate 9 last time out and was a long way back in the pack when making a closing play to finish mid-field. He can get a cheap run here and be probing for openings.

ELMAUR JOY (9) retreated from gate 6 last start before making a wide run in the closing stages and wide off the track, grabbing 3rd when 4m from the winner. A winner at 2 of her past 4, she will swoop late.

SELECTIONS: HAPPY FEELINGS (7), BROADWATER (1), PROJECTILE (8), ELMAUR JOY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: HAPPY FEELINGS (7) to win
