RACE TWO

DONT CALL ME (1) looked to take them all the way last start over the mile at AP and after a slick opening 800m couldn’t see it out, fading in the closing stages. Forced to work in the breeze 2 starts back when beaten 4m, he can look for a mid-race breather to provide an early double for the Elkins/Smith combo.

TRENT FROM PUNCHY (6) sat back at his Qld debut on debut as DONT CALL ME set the tempo and when making his run arrived to claim a 6m victory. Only 2m from the winner at Mildura 2 starts back, he will take good benefit from his Qld debut and despite the tricky gate can feature.

GOALKICKER (5) sat in the pocket trail here 2 starts back and with the benefit of the cosy trip made the closing shot a winning one. Fading after working in the breeze last start, she is in the mix here.

DEADLY ROCKER (7)
started from gate 1 last start and after landing the trail packed too many guns to score up the passing lane. Not really suited his past 2 starts, he can secure another soft run here.

SELECTIONS: DONT CALL ME (1), TRENT FROM PUNCHY (6), GOALKICKER (5), DEADLY ROCKER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-5-6-7

RACE FIVE

KISS CAM (7) looks set to enjoy the right type of trip here and can be coiled and ready to strike in the stretch. He took them all the way over this trip 3 starts back in a sizzling rate and followed that with a 3rd to TRENT FROM PUNCHY. Backing up from a nice effort on Thurs where he dis his share of early work to find the front, he has the early options to challenge.

He comes up with the tough gate here, but with an even tempo look for MONTANA CHIEF (6) to work home strongly. Snagged back from gate 4 over this trip 2 starts back, he was too far back chasing against the tempo. Hitting the line in good order for the silver to COBBLER LANE last start, he can swoop.

STEVIE DEE (1) was probing for runs when taking on mares company on Thurs and with clearer space could have been closer than the dead heat 2nd. With the speed to hold up, she will be in the fight.

VADER (2) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon 3 back when sound to the line behind a big winner. He can look for a cheap trip again and chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: KISS CAM (7), MONTANA CHIEF (6), STEVIE DEE (1), VADER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: KISS CAM (7) to win

RACE SIX

PEGGY STARDUST (3) is another on the back-up from Thurs and should find this assignment slightly easier. Finding the front here 2 starts back, she set an even tempo when gunned down in the closing stages. 3rd from the pocket trail 4 starts back, there looks to be limited pressure and that gives her a big hope.

ART EGO (1) is taking on the older horses again after finishing with the bronze last start from this same gate. Locked away he tracked home for a nice 3rd behind the big winner THE DOORMAN. From the gate he can enjoy another economical trip and poised to strike can offer in the stretch.

LIGHTHORSE (7) speared across from the outside at Marburg last start and was in for the fight when falling 1m short. From the gate he can enjoy a soft trip and be probing for openings.

WECANONLYHOPE (9) was last seen here back on Jul 28, however fitness will be no issue after competing through the EKKA. Despite the 2nd line gate she won’t be too far away against these.

SELECTIONS: PEGGY STARDUST (3), ART EGO (1), LIGHTHORSE (7), WECANONLYHOPE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: PEGGY STARDUST (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

RITCHIE BEE (5) looks to find a nice target here and with a drop in class to what he has been facing can look to overcome the tricky gate. Leading them up here 3 starts back he was only grabbed on the line when 2nd and last start didn’t have much luck when buried away on the pegs. This looks within his capabilities.

BERTILS FIREFOX (1) broke his maiden status last start when angled to the pegs for some luck and was able to finish best to score. That was his 8th career start and while he faces a sharp rise taking on some tried performers in this, he will secure the soft trip and can probe for the gaps.

TELL THE FUTURE (4) has been runner-up at her past 3 attempts, beaten 2m and a half-head the past 2. Working home in nice style last time behind STUDLEIGH WILL, she won’t be far away in this.

HALF MOON BEACH (6) started from gate 12 last time over the AP mile and form back in the pack was closing out strongly to be 7m from the winner. Runner-up his previous 2 which had followed a win, he can be thereabouts again here.

SELECTIONS: RITCHIE BEE (5), BERTILS FIREFOX (1), TELL THE FUTURE (4), HALF MOON BEACH (6)
SUGGESTED BET: RITCHIE BEE (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

3 of the 4 horses selected to run the money in this all come out of the same race on Thursday with
ART SUNSET (5) scoring the victory in that race. Looking to be in all sorts of trouble in the pocket trail and carted back behind a tiring leader, she somehow found a way to finish best to score. She can go back-to-back.

KAMEKONA (2) showed no early speed in that race and ended up a long way back in the pack and trying to work home. Claiming the bronze here 3 starts back when buried back against the pegs, he can look to earn a cheque from this alley.

OUR MASQUERADE (1) lands her best gate for some time and with the benefit of the improved alley can be right in the mix. Settling in the running line here on Wed, she will find this much easier when down the line behind CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM. Striking OUR DOUG 2 back, this looks her chance.

SELECTIONS: ART SUNSET (5), KAMEKONA (2), OUR MASQUERADE (1),
SUGGESTED BET: ART SUNSET (5) to win
