RACE TWO

This looms as a very tricky qualifier to nail down, with the 2138m and the front-line speed throwing out more questions than answers. Despite the inside 2nd line gate, MY ULTIMATE STAR (8) will strip fitter following his latest outing when 1st up from a break. Only a 3YO taking on the older horses, he was completely luckless here last week from this same gate when probing for gaps that never arrived. He is worth a chance.

PADRISIMO (5) has claimed the bronze at his past 2 starts, placed in 3 of his 4 since joining the Charlie Cini operation. Settling in the 1x1 last week over the mile, he was making some late ground when 4m in arrears of the winner. He is in the mix once again.

OYSTER STRIDE (2) is better suited at the mile, but from this gate he can settle close enough. Holding on for the bronze 2 starts back, he can be thereabouts.

SHANWAY (9) is the query runner, a new arrival for the visiting Cross barn. A Newcastle winner 3 starts back, he was game in the breeze last start behind the in-form MAN HANDS at Menangle, finishing mid-field. Big watch.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE STAR (8), PADRISIMO (5), OYSTER STRIDE (2), SHANWAY (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

CRUZ (6) lines up for the hat-trick after dominating wins here at his past 2 starts. Spearing out from gate 4 to take control over the mile here 2 starts back, he kept the power on in taking them all the way and equalling the track record. With the benefit of leading again last start over the 2138m, he again did not let the chasers in on the action. The threepeat looks on the cards.

OUR UNCLE SAM (7) sat back in the pack from gate 10 here last week when trying to make a closing play, finishing 5m in arrears of the winner KID MONTANA. Luckless the start prior when locked away on the poles as CRUZ was dealing in front, he has been given no favours with the extreme alley but will be in for the fight.

BRIGHT ENERGY (10) is the query runner, lining up here for the Craig Cross barn 1st up from a spell. Taking huge in-roads last campaign, including a sub 1.50 win at Menangle, he was sharp in a recent trial and cannot be overlooked despite the tough gate.

ROCK WITH SAM (1) started from this alley last week when sent to the post as fav. Releasing the pressure. Angled to the outside as they swung for home, he chased hard as SCOOB OPERATOR pinched the break. The gate aids his chances.

SELECTIONS: CRUZ (6), OUR UNCLE SAM (7), BRIGHT ENERGY (10), ROCK WITH SAM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CRUZ (6) to win

RACE FOUR

ESCALERA (2)
backs up from a mid-week outing where he settled in the pocket trail, chasing gamely in holding on for the silver behind the airborne AT WEST POINT. Forced to tough it out from the breeze the start prior over the 2138m as MISTER BRAZIL put them away, he has the gate to capitalise.

KILLARA KAOS (6) made the most of circumstances last start to take control over the mile and once in front dictated to claim a qualifying victory. Chasing hard to grab the silver the start prior when 4m in arrears of the winner ROCKNROLL CLASSIC, he can look to issue a challenge.

OUR LITTLE DIGGER (9) found his race at Redcliffe 3 starts back when finishing best to claim a 3m victory. Not much has gone his way in the 2 starts since and if settling closer to the action, be chiming in late.

DAPPER (1) has placed at his past 2 starts, the latest from this gate when best of the chasers behind MISTER BRAZIL. With the cosy trip available, he can be ready to rally in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: ESCALERA (2), KILLARA KAOS (6), OUR LITTLE DIGGER (9), DAPPER (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

He may not have tasted success in 2020, yet the conditions might just be right for CLASSIE AMERICAN (9) to rectify that here. Using the passing lane here 2 starts back, he grabbed the silver behind SUBTLE DELIGHT and then last start he was battling traffic from well back in the pack. With the right tempo off the front, he can arrive.

MIDNIGHT MAN (8) will need plenty of luck from this gate as he looks in danger of being snookered in the run. Hitting the line in good order here on Tuesday when 4m in arrears of the returning SECRETAGENT TYCOON, he set the tempo here the start prior when unable to see it out. He will be probing.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (5) found the front from gate 4 over the 2138m here 3 starts back when looking to take them all the way. Fighting hard when 4m from the winner, the gates at his past 2 have proved costly. He can feature in this.

SPARKLING CULLECT (7) was shooting for the hat-trick last start when retreating from gate 5 to look for short-cuts. Mid-field behind SCOOB OPERATOR, he has podium claims here despite the gate.

SELECTIONS: CLASSIE AMERICAN (9), MIDNIGHT MAN (8), MAFUTA VAUTIN (5), SPARKLING CULLECT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CLASSIE AMERICAN (9) to win

RACE SIX

MOHS EM DOWN (1) powered home over the top of them here 2 starts back in claiming a strong victory over the 2138m trip. Beaten by gate 6 here on Tuesday when retreating as AT WEST POINT carved out a 51.6 mile in front, he looks to get his chance to score a dictating victory.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (3) is flying at present but isn’t having much luck along the way either. Getting close to a qualifying win after some smart efforts, that was franked with a 2138m win 4 starts back. Placed in all 3 outings since, he just needs some luck to feature in this.

MYMATEPOG (5) was sent forward from the 2nd line last start to position outside the leader and from there was in for the fight, 2m in arrears of the winner. In this line-up he looks a podium player.

WITH AUTHORITY (8) had gate 1 here last week over the 2138m when holding on for the bronze after sitting in the pocket trail. Not that far away the start prior after retreating from gate 7, the economical trip suits.

SELECTIONS: MOHS EM DOWN (1), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (3), MYMATEPOG (5), WITH AUTHORITY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR GENERALJUJON (3) to place

RACE SEVEN

TUAPEKA LIGHT (8) has really hit her straps this campaign and lines up here looking to strike off the tally after 4 successive wins at Redcliffe. Pressing forward from gate 4 last start over the 1780m, she was able to secure cover before finishing best to claim a2m victory. Following a smart beginner, the light can shine bright.

JENDEN STRIKE (7) steps up to take on the older mares after tackling the SE Derby last start. Looking to take them all the way, she was game in defeat when within 10m of GOVERNOR JUJON after copping heat in the run. The gate is the obvious concern for the SE Oaks winner, but she can rise to the challenge.

TAJIE BABY (1) steps out in Qld for the 1st time, joining the Dixon stable. Not too far from the winner COWBOYS N INDIANS last start at Menangle, she has the options with her early speed to feature.

MOREAU DRIVE (10) was making her AP debut here back on Jul 4 when after setting the tempo, faded badly and was subsequently banished to the trials. After a tidy trial, she can search for atonement.

SELECTIONS: TUAPEKA LIGHT (8), JENDEN STRIKE (7), TAJIE BABY (1), MOREAU DRIVE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-7-8-10

RACE EIGHT

SPECIAL RESERVE (10) has the tough gate to overcome but looks to get into this race nicely under the conditions. Sent to the breeze from the 2nd line last start, she was in for the fight when within 3m of the winner WICKED AZZ. Not far from UNCLE JORD the start prior in a slick mile, with the right run in transit, this race looks within reach.

JILLIBY GIZMO (1) is on the back up from Thursday where he looked a solid chance. A winner over the Redcliffe 2040m trip 3 starts back, he took them all the way from gate 2 to claim the prize. Too far back at his next outing when buried in the run, he can make the most of the gate.

MONTEREY JACK (3) has been to The Creek on 12 occasions and is yet to hit the board. His form at Redcliffe in recent starts has been good with a win 2 starts back a reward following 3 successive placings. He can chime in.

JEROSH (8) struck some trouble in the run last start but was still able to grab the bronze behind THE DEMOCRAT over the Redcliffe 2040m. With a cosy trip on offer in this, he can be ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: SPECIAL RESERVE (10), JILLIBY GIZMO (1), MONTEREY JACK (3), JEROSH (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SPECIAL RESERVE (10) to win

RACE NINE

OUR OVERANOVA (11) is knocking on the door of another victory after placings in his past 2 starts. Starting from 40m here 2 starts back, he was closing strongly for the bronze behind GALLEONS VICTORY. Last start from the mobile, he was game when sent to the breeze and only grabbed in the closing strides. He loves this trip and can move 1 win closer to 50 wins here at headquarters.

WEE MAN TROUBLE (8) has been kept fresh since his last victory when claiming the Redcliffe Cup, securing the perfect trip to make the closing shot a winning one. Only beaten his handicap after a scratchy start over this trip 2 starts back, if he can secure position cheaply, he can land a blow here.

LAVROS TEXAS (2) found the front under the mobile conditions last week when trying to take them all the way, falling 4m short of the prize. With the good lane off the front tape, he can feature again.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (10) started from gate 10 last time out under mobile conditions when wide off the track trying to make a closing play. Mid-race workload will be all important to his chances.

SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (11), WEE MAN TROUBLE (8), LAVROS TEXAS (2), NORTHERN MUSCLE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (11) to win

RACE TEN

SAINT KILDA BEACH (8) went into the Queen of Hearts over the mile here 2 starts back looking to complete a hat-trick of victories. Landing this same gate, she was soon buried as they sorted their positions, hitting the line strongly to be 8m away. Too far back from gate 10 in the Fleur De Lil, the small field, this grade and early options look to suit.

WEEKS END (6) went within a half-head of landing the Fleur De Lil 2 starts back after securing the pocket trail and then being out-sprinted by JUSTA LITTLE TORQUE, beaten a half-head. Fading last week after setting the tempo over the 2138m trip, the return to mares only company is a big plus.

JUST DEAL IT (1) took up the lamp lighting duties last start when working to the front from gate 3, falling 4m short of the prize. With the gate to call the shots, she will be in the mix.

JERADAS DELIGHT (5) made a successful start to her Qld career when proving too strong in claiming a mares qualifier last start. Winning from a breeze over the mile, she steps up here but can’t be dismissed.

SELECTIONS: SAINT KILDA BEACH (8), WEEKS END (6), JUST DEAL IT (1), JERADAS DELIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SAINT KILDA BEACH (8) to win
