RACE TWO

The capacity field makes this a tough race with a few in the field possessing questionable manners. Working towards a victory after some nice performances, THE REAPER (12) franked that assessment when charging home to a stylish win here 2 starts back. Chasing gamely as ALADDIN SANE cleared out last start, if he can stay out of trouble, he can take this.

HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (5) was banished to the trials last start after 4 successive runs where she had made errors that ended her chances. Her run 3 starts back despite the error was huge when grabbing the bronze. Earning the return ticket, if she can trot throughout, she will give this a shake.

SPIDERS DEVIL (2) was safely into stride here 3 runs back from the front and was giving plenty of cheek out in front when collared in the closing stages. If he is finding the front, he will give a sight.

PUMA ROAD (6) secured the right trip without spending a cent here 2 runs back and had plenty of open space to charge down the outside to score. Run down by VAN SANK last start after leading them up from the mobile, he can feature once again.

SELECTIONS: THE REAPER (12), HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (5), SPIDERS DEVIL (2), PUMA ROAD (6)
SUGGESTED BET: THE REAPER (12) to win

RACE THREE

CUZIN LYNDAL (5)
arrives with the Narissa McMullen stable and brings a Charlton win in Western Victoria 2 starts back. Sent straight to the front in that 2100m event, she was never headed in claiming a 6m margin. Grabbed in the closing stages last start when setting the speed, she can show early hustle and be gripping on.

LADY AVANA (3) when found the pocket trail from the two-hole here last start and chased hard for the silver behind the impressive winner HEMSWORTH. That had followed successive runs out of the money in the Redcliffe and then Qld Oaks. Yet to breakthrough here in Qld, she can challenge in this.

WHICH HUNT (6) started from gate 10 last time out and from back in the running line was against the tempo as HEMSWORTH zipped them home in 27.4 from the front. Too far back the start prior as the smart LAMANDIER capitalised, in this grade she has podium claims.

PRESS STATEMENT (8) is still searching for his first victory here at The Creek and backs-up from Friday. Using the passing lane behind CHARMING CHARLOTTE here 2 starts back, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: CUZIN LYNDAL (5), LADY AVANA (3), WHICH HUNT (6), PRESS STATEMENT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: CUZIN LYNDAL (5) to win

RACE FOUR

HAPPY PUBLICANS (9)
had his chances evaporate soon after the start here last time out when making a costly error as a red figure favourite. Considering how much ground he forfeited after the break, it was a stylish effort to be just 12m in arrears at the finish. With the right early trail, he can make a challenge.

A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (5) has placed in both starts behind the smart HEMSWORTH since arriving from NZ. Forced to sit parked last start, it was a brave effort as the 3YO zipped home in 27.4 from the front end to take the win. With the fitness and experience she can look to throw down the challenge.

KOTARE ELITE (1) has some early speed to utilise and has the gate to burrow through. Sitting parked and giving the leader the stink-eye at Marburg last start, she only wilted late in sharp time. The gate is a big plus.

MAFFIOSO GIRL (3) was stared down by KOTARE ELITE last start but had the answers in front to claim a smart win around the tight Marburg track. The winner of just 1 from 21 here at The Creek, she has place claims.

SELECTIONS: HAPPY PUBLICANS (9), A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (5), KOTARE ELITE (1), MAFFIOSO GIRL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: HAPPY PUBLICANS (9) to win

RACE FIVE

A tricky one here where FRONTLINER (8) will be sweating on the pole marker holding them wide. Returning from a spell with a first-up 3rd from gate 7 when 8m from LUVHAVINFUN, nothing went right from gate 6 last start as CAPTAIN NEMO scored a smart win. Back to the mile suits, he just needs the gap.

SHADOW MINISTER (6) resumes from a spell to have his first outing in Qld. Last seen at Menangle back in May, he was strong to the line over the mile to get within a head of the in-form FAIRY TINKABELL. Running up behind them in a strong trial here last week, he can challenge fresh.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when 3m from CAPTAIN NEMO over the 2138m after releasing the speed. He has all the options again here from the ace.

RAANI (3) had no luck at all here 3 starts back when easing from gate 6 and then stuck in traffic and never sighting a gap. Closing out in nice order for the bronze 2 back in a mare’s qualifier, she was again closing soundly for 3rd last start and can chime in.

SELECTIONS: FRONTLINER (8), SHADOW MINISTER (6), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1), RAANI (3)
SUGGESTED BET: FRONTLINER (8) to win

RACE SIX

Stepping out in Qld for the first time back on June 25, CAPTAIN NEMO (6) was sent to the post as the favourite over the mile. Three-wide the trip, the effort was full of merit when within 9m of the winner. Kept fresh, we saw him last week over the 2138m and from gate 7 he was far too classy in claiming a strong win. This is a tougher test, but he will be tighter and can repeat.

KEAYANG MARVEN (4) started in red figures last time out from gate 1 but did not have the hustle to hold them out. Quickly away from the pegs to the running line, he had no answer to LIFE LAVROS. Securing position cheaply here will be vital but with an even tempo he can challenge late.

OUR ACTION MAN (2) has been in great touch and takes his place here with 3 wins and 2 minors in his past 5 starts. Claiming a qualifier here 2 back in a sub 27 closing split he was game in defeat when sitting parked from gate 7 to hold 2nd behind BITCOIN last start. The gate can see him feature here.

MEGA STAR (1) was wide off the track at Marburg last start when running home crazy sectionals on the tight track, breaking 56 the last 800m With the easy trip in behind the action, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN NEMO (6), KEAYANG MARVEN (4), OUR ACTION MAN (2), MEGA STAR (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-4-6

RACE SEVEN

FIRST STRING (5)
is at his best when able to roll in front and his past 2 starts he has been unable to find that position. A winner 3 back when taking them all the way at Redcliffe, in that race he was sent straight to the front to control the speed before turning and burning in a 27.7 closing panel. He can take a good shot here and finding the front will get every hope.

SIMON (10) was shooting for the hat-trick last start when tackling a qualifier over the mile from gate 1. Holding the front through a steady opening half, he could not maintain the advantage and faded in the stretch when 9m from the winner. A return to this grade looks suitable and he can bounce back.

TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (1) has not been too far away of late against some smart performers, the latest when she could not go with them when the closing speed went on. From the gate in this line-up, she gets every chance for a minor.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (8) does not have much figure form to boost his recommendation, however in 3 runs back from a spell he has not been too far from them with 7 weeks between his 2nd and 3rd up outings. With added fitness he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: FIRST STRING (5), SIMON (10), TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (1), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FIRST STRING (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

Making full advantage of taking a few steps down the ladder here last week BOMBADIER JUJON (9) was sent straight to the front to dictate. Keeping an even tempo, he had too much to offer after meritorious efforts behind TOMMY LINCOLN and SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS. The tempo looks right to go back-to-back.

MONTANA CHIEF (3) added another minor to his tally on Saturday night to make it 4 from his previous 5 where he had been the runner-up. Charging late when a half-head from BOMBADIER JUJON here last week, he was best of the chasers behind the power running CRUNCH TIME on Saturday night. Look for him swooping late here.

JUMPING JACK JIMMY (2) had a shot for the lamp lighting duties last start but was repelled before settling with 1x1 cover but could not cope in a 55.7 middle 800m. Back to this grade looks more suitable.

MAJORDOIT (1) eased from the six-hole over the 2138m 3 starts back and was attacking the line with power over the closing stages when 4m from the winner SLINGSHOT. He will be probing.

SELECTIONS: BOMBADIER JUJON (9), MONTANA CHIEF (3), JUMPING JACK JIMMY (2), MAJORDOIT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BOMBADIER JUJON (9) to win
