RACE TWO

Stepping out in Qld for the first time here last week as the race favourite, SUGARINSPICE (7) did it all perfectly. Stepping straight to the front and then with a perfect gait took them all the way to claim an impressive first up win. Back to the 20m tape she will need to negotiate traffic, but with the added fitness, she can repeat.

GRAT FANTASY (8) will take great benefit from his latest outing when resuming from a spell. A winner in both starts after crossing the Tasman, he found the pocket trail from the 10m tape here last week when 1st up. Chasing to be 5m in arrears of the winner, he can throw it down once more.

HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (3) has been struggling to put it all together until finally it clicked here 2 starts back and pressing on to take control, she was able to land the prize. Midfield last start after working early to press forward, she can be thereabouts here.

ROSEHILL MAGIC (2) has been without a victory for some time but comes up with the right conditions to look for improvement. Chasing last start behind SUGARINSPICE, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: SUGARINSPICE (7), GRAT FANTASY (8), HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (3), ROSEHILL MAGIC (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SUGARINSPICE (7) to win

RACE THREE

There may be just the 6 horses in this small field, but it is a tricky little battle flush with early speed. The mare JUST ROKIN (2) eased to the poles from gate 4 here 3 runs back and was strong to the line for the bronze behind TOTAL DIVA. Only 4m away in slick time behind FRANCO HAMPTON 2 back, this looks within reach.

SABRAGE (4) tackled a veteran’s event last start when finding the pocket trail from gate 7 after flying out early and sliding in behind the speed. Chasing hard in holding the silver, he can take a good shot as the mobile pulls away here and will get his chance to throw down the challenge.

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (3) was a winner over the 2138m here 3 starts back when firing off the arm before taking the trail. Inside the 2nd line was his undoing last start, but he looks better suited here.

SELECTIONS: JUST ROKIN (2), SABRAGE (4), SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (3),
SUGGESTED BET: JUST ROKIN (2) to win

RACE FOUR

With just the one win to his name OFFICE BAD BOY (4) is giving away some experience in this contest. Joining the Trent Dawson barn since his last outing, he will line up here fresh since July 13 when finishing 7m in arrears from gate 9. Hitting the line in nice order the start prior, he lands the improved gate to capitalise.

SHEZ GOT BLING (7) has no favours from outside the front line but at her best when saved for the last shot can look to ease across early to find position. 6m from KWASII last start after settling in the 1x1 trial over the Redcliffe 1780m, she was runner-up here 3 starts back and if the tempo is upbeat can be finishing strongly.

WOODLANDS WONDER (5) pounced on the poles last start from gate 3 and was looking to take them all the way when the winner eased off his back to snipe. Wide off the track the start prior, he will be thereabouts again here.

BEEF CITY STARZZZ (1) used the inside gate to advantage last time out at Redcliffe when leading throughout to claim a 3.5m victory. With the early options, he can get the right trip to feature.

SELECTIONS: OFFICE BAD BOY (4), SHEZ GOT BLING (7), WOODLANDS WONDER (5), BEEF CITY STARZZZ (1)
SUGGESTED BET: OFFICE BAD BOY (4) to win

RACE FIVE

WHICH HUNT (6) eased to find position last start when pegged away 3 back against the poles. Making some nice metres in the closing stages when 5m from the dictating winner CHARMING CHARLOTTE. Wide off the track when making a closing play behind LADY AVANA 2 starts back, this looks within reach.

KOTARE ELITE (2) found the pocket trail last start and with the right trip in behind the speed held on for the bronze behind LADY AVANA. Chasing behind HAPPY PUBLICANS the start prior, she has slowly started to build form after 5 runs back from a break. With early bullets to fire, she can throw it down.

MAGICOL IDEAL (9) has some ordinary numbers next to his name but may just have found the right race to turn that around. Unable to secure position and forced to retreat last start, the effort was sharper, and he has podium claims here.

SNUGGLES BANYULA (5) features in a stable switch to join the Dixon stable after a luckless campaign for the visiting Scott Hewitt team. Midfield in a mare’s qualifier last start when only 5m in arrears, she is not out of this.

SELECTIONS: WHICH HUNT (6), KOTARE ELITE (2), MAGICOL IDEAL (9), SNUGGLES BANYULA (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

This race over the mile has 5 contestants that all clashed in the same race last week over the 2138m. Runner-up in that event was A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (3) who worked to the front and was fighting hard when beaten a head by HAPPY PUBLICANS. With the gate advantage over her main rivals, she can look for redemption.

HAPPY PUBLICANS (10) has been in nice touch with his only blemish in his past 4 starts when making a costly error that put him out of business. Sitting parked over the 2138m last week, he was able to worry A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE out of the prize in claiming victory by a head. The gate stings but he can throw it down.

LETS HUSTLE (4) started from gate 10 last start in an easier battle than he faces here when making some late metres to grab the bronze. Gunned down in front here 3 starts back, he can be thereabouts.

SO MUCH MORE (9) sat in the running line from gate 4 last start and looked to making a strong charge in the stretch, only to have his inexperience at start number 3 cost him a closer result as he ducked in. He looks set to furnish into a nice type.

SELECTIONS: A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (3), HAPPY PUBLICANS (10), LETS HUSTLE (4), SO MUCH MORE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

LADY AVANA (8)
will need some factors in her favour here but following a good beginner that likes to lead, should give her every opportunity to be ready to strike in the stretch. Shooting for the hat-trick after wins at the mile and then the 2138m trip, she was too slippery late last start and can take the snipers shot once again.

FOR FOUR FOUR (1) was content to sit parked over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back and had too much grit in putting away the leader, running a nice last 800m in the process. Again, forced to work hard in the run last start when only wilting late, she can look to take control here and be gripping on.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (3) eased from gate 6 last start over the mile and was making some nice metres in the closing stages. Not too far from BRAEBEACH the previous start, he has podium claims.

ASCALBUS (7) is only lightly raced and has had a long break between runs, his lone Qld start back in January off the back of over 12 months off. Trialling in nice order in readiness for the return, he should improve off his achievements in this.

SELECTIONS: LADY AVANA (8), FOR FOUR FOUR (1), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (3), ASCALBUS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LADY AVANA (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

Last seen back on July 10 in a strong 6-75 race during the Constellations, ANOTHER STATEMENT (1) should appreciate this line up from this gate. He could have finished closer with a clearer passage in that outing and the start prior was nabbed in the closing stages by ADAM CROCKER. He can strike fresh.

AMILLION PROMISES (9)
will take benefit from his latest outing when returning from a spell over the mile where he was hitting the line strongly over the closing stages behind VIRGIL who has since claimed another victory. Trailing through early to secure position, he will get a chance to challenge.

THE HERVEY BAY (8) has placed at his past 4 on the bounce and has a great top-3 strike rate here at The Creek where he has hit the board in 11 of 14. This gate is probably not ideally for his pattern, but he cannot be ignored.

BEEF CITY BLAZE (5) faces a sticky gate here but has good speed when saved for a closing shot. Too far back last start as VIRGIL landed the loot, finishing strongly the start prior, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: ANOTHER STATEMENT (1), AMILLION PROMISES (9), THE HERVEY BAY (8), BEEF CITY BLAZE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ANOTHER STATEMENT (1) to win

RACE NINE

CAPTAIN NEMO (5) started from gate 6 last start and was wide for along way when trying to chase down OUR ACTION MAN who was rolling out in front. His win the start prior was a stylish effort over the middle tri when looming up strongly and then putting them away. His wins have all been over longer, but he can change that anomaly here.

OUR ACTION MAN (8) has been in great touch on his Qld sojourn and lines up with 3 wins from his past 5 and finishing as the runner-up in the other 2 attempts. Too strong out in front last start when claiming an 8m victory over the 2138m trip, he has the 2nd line options to throw it down here.

FRONTLINER (2) had his chances wiped out 2 starts back before they even got going. 8m away last start he can look to take advantage of the gate and looms as a podium hope in this.

KEAYANG MARVEN (3) was never in the contest last week when settling at the rear and then running gup behind them in the stretch. Finding a spot without overdoing it early are key to his chances.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN NEMO (5), OUR ACTION MAN (8), FRONTLINER (2), KEAYANG MARVEN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN NEMO (5) to win
