RACE TWO

Needing some factors in her favour from the gate, ROYAL PRINCESS (7) can be in a striking position if she can get to the passing lane with momentum. Sent to the post as fav from the six-hole last start, she was asked to hang tough and wilted from the trip. With the cosy trip, she looks to get her chance.

PIN CODE (4) will be tightened from her last start when resuming from a spell. Snagging back from gate 6 in the early stages to look for some short-cuts, she was angling for runs in finishing midfield. With an even slice of luck in securing a position, she can be thereabouts.

PRINCE JOY (3) will take further benefit from his latest offering when 3rd up from a break. Making an error when resuming, he was then wide off the track 2nd up before hitting he line smartly last start. He is in the mix here.

AUNTY FRANCES (9) rolled forward at Marburg last start and was obliged to sit parked and was sound to the line for the bronze when 4m in arrears of the winner. The gate is a stinger, but she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL PRINCESS (7), PIN CODE (4), PRINCE JOY (3), AUNTY FRANCES (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL PRINCESS (7) to win

RACE THREE

PACIFIC COIN (9)
will take good benefit from his latest offering when 2nd up from a break. Returning from gate 2 when finding the pocket trail, he could have been closer than the 6m margin with clearer space and followed that with a late charging 2nd at Marburg. There looks some tempo which is a big plus.

CLARENDEN DAZZLER (2) tackled a much tougher race last start and never had much go his way when forced to retreat after unable to secure position. Shooting for the hat-trick of victories in that contest, he had scored here at The Triangle at his only attempt the start previous and back to this grade can challenge.

BETTOR WATCH HIM (1) started from inside the 2nd line at Marburg last start and was soon buried in the run and searching for the opening as SCHEU CREEK broke free to score. The improved gate helps.

MONTANA FLASH (7) will be returning from a spell and opened the pipes with a smart hit out at the Marburg trials in readiness for this. Last seen when down the line behind BIG WHEELS, the cosy trip first up suits.

SELECTIONS: PACIFIC COIN (9), CLARENDEN DAZZLER (2), BETTOR WATCH HIM (1), MONTANA FLASH (7)
SUGGESTED BET: PACIFIC COIN (9) to win

RACE FOUR

MANOFLISA (2)
was in a purple patch of form before just tapering and sent for a freshen. His effort was sound at his last start when 4th in the Showcase Final from behind the tapes. With a tidy trial in readiness for the return, he has the gate to look for a successful resumption.

RISKY BUZINESS (4) used his early speed to fire out of the machine and take control over the AP mile last start and from the front took them all the way. Better from the front over the sprint trip, his effort for the bronze here 3 starts back at the 2040m was good when chasing and he looms large.

MISTER DECORUM (9) was shooting for the hat-trick here 2 runs back when settling in the 1x1 trail and holding on for 3rd. Gunned down in front last time out, the gate hurts but he can chime in.

MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (5) was a passing lane winner here 4 runs back after securing the perfect trip in behind the leader. Charging home to grab 3rd at his next attempt, his past 2 have been in much stronger contests and back to this grade can see him feature.

SELECTIONS: MANOFLISA (2), RISKY BUZINESS (4), MISTER DECORUM (9), MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

Another race that shapes as a wide-open contest with the runner with the best run or luck or combination of both can cash-in. CANNAN (8) has been to the track 4 times since resuming from a break, the latest when starting from this gate and not able to get warm. Only 7m from SHEZ GOT BLING the start prior, he can arrive here.

ABERCROMBIE TAB (3) was put out of play last start in a scrimmage that ended his chances. Only a head way here 2 starts back when making a closing play after settling in the 1x1 trail, he can look to settle handy again here to make the closing challenge.

WHATA CHALLENGE (5) secured the perfect trip last time out at Marburg and despite there being no passing lane at the Burg, he had gaps to right line and power over the top. The gate stings but he is in the mix.

FORTYFIVE ROCK (4) has been out of the money at his past 3 and been at the tail of the field his past 2 outings. With good early hustle he can look to bounce back to some form from this alley.

SELECTIONS: CANNAN (8), ABERCROMBIE TAB (3), WHATA CHALLENGE (5), FORTYFIVE ROCK (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CANNAN (8) to win

RACE SIX

WESTERN SHOWGIRL (1)
was a winner over the AP mile 5 starts back when settling in the running line from the five-hole. Deserted by luck last start from inside the 2nd line, this looks a nice drop in grade and coming up with the perfect alley will get every chance to take advantage.

ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (6) has no favours from this tough gate but somewhere near his best in recent times might just be enough in this contest. Angled to the poles from the 2nd line last start, he was midfield. Freshened since that outing, he is challenging chance.

MAYWYNS JEWEL (3) was pegged away from inside the 2nd line last start and was trying to make play when only 2m in arrears of the winner. Meeting some stronger types of late, she looms here.

MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (7) has been to the track twice since returning from a spell, the latest when starting from this gate and shuffled back in the run before finishing soundly. With a cosy trip he has claims.

SELECTIONS: WESTERN SHOWGIRL (1), ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (6), MAYWYNS JEWEL (3), MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: WESTERN SHOWGIRL (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

TULHURST LOVER (2)
is still searching for her first win since arriving in Qld and might just have found the conditions to change that. Eased from gate 4 to find the poles here 3 starts back, she was making some closing metres to grab the bronze. Chasing hard last start at AP, this looks ideal.

JOHNROD (1) had a good shot for the lamp lighting duties last time out at Marburg but could not quite muster the early hustle. Chasing late when 2m shy of the winner, he comes up with the options from this gate and will get his chance for a drought breaking 2nd victory.

WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (7) found the front from gate 3 before releasing the speed over the 1780m last time out and then chased hard for the silver when 2m from the winner. With an economical trip, she is a podium hope.

TACTFILLY MIRACLE (6) will take further benefit from her latest outing when 2nd up from a spell. Eased from gate 4 at Marburg before finishing in nice order for the bronze, the gate stings here.

SELECTIONS: TULHURST LOVER (2), JOHNROD (1), WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (7), TACTFILLY MIRACLE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TULHURST LOVER (2) to win

RACE NINE

Keeping with the theme of wide-open races, this is another that could go any which way. A Marburg winner 4 starts back when sitting parked and grinding it out to score CHANG (3) can look to settle close to the action from this alley. Snagged back from gate 6 last start, he can be looking to chime in.

MUSTANG DUDE (4) tried to take them all the way last start at Marburg and after an easy opening half really dialled it up in a 28.1 3rd panel that left him vulnerable late. AUORORA ROSE took advantage of the tempo to nail him on the wire. With even luck he can make the challenge.

TRACES OF TARA (8) looked for an advantage from gate 2 here 2 starts back and was in front until the last strides when a half-head in arrears. With even luck she can feature.

LIVING FREE (9) does his best work when rolling out in front so will not have that luxury from this alley. Sound to the line last start at The Creek after retreating from gate 5, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: CHANG (3), MUSTANG DUDE (4), TRACES OF TARA (8), LIVING FREE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CHANG (3) to win

RACE TEN

YANKEE DANCER (1) set the speed for the first 1400m of the mile trip at headquarters last time out before wilting to finish at the rear as LANCELOT BROMAC swept to victory. It has been 12 months since she scored her only win, but in this grade from this gate, the ball is firmly in her court.

STUDLEIGHS ONLY (7) struck some trouble last start that hampered his chances when in the second half of the pack. A winner from gate 9 here 5 runs back when wide off the track, he can get the cosy trip here and look to make a stretch drive challenge.

LEAPING LEO (8) eased from gate 4 last time out when trying to make some late metres. Running on to finish midfield to THE LAST DRAGON, he is a podium hope in this line up.

ROCK SUPREME (9) settled in the 1x1 trail last start in a sound effort behind MAC SWEENEY. Grabbing the bronze here 2 starts back, he can be chiming into the minors.

SELECTIONS: YANKEE DANCER (1), STUDLEIGHS ONLY (7), LEAPING LEO (8), ROCK SUPREME (9)
SUGGESTED BET: YANKEE DANCER (1) to win
