Racing Queensland will extend its full payment option for owners and breeders seeking to register their 2019 foals as QTIS horses until August 31, 2021.
With the global pandemic continuing to impact the Queensland racing industry, RQ has opted to extend the initial deadline by a further month, offering respite to those who may be financially impacted at present.
RQ EGM Operations Adam Wallish said the decision had been made in the best interest of the industry as a whole.
"The Queensland Thoroughbred Incentive Scheme continues to go from strength to strength," Mr Wallish said.
"We know it has been a difficult time for certain members of the industry, and with this in mind, it seems only reasonable that we extend the full payment option for owners and breeders wishing to register their horses as QTIS.
"We believe it’s the pre-eminent breeding scheme in the nation, and we want to encourage people to breed, buy and back Queensland.”
