The performance of the Eagle Farm course proper continues to be monitored by Racing Queensland and the Brisbane Racing Club.
For the past three years, RQ and the BRC have jointly managed Eagle Farm through a Maintenance Control Group, conducting fortnightly meetings, and in recent times, inviting industry participants to provide feedback following concerns relating to track firmness.
Following an industry meeting in January, a timeline was developed to review the racing surface following the recent Winter Carnival with the Australian Trainers’ Association and the Queensland Jockeys’ Association, which was conducted earlier today.
During this morning’s track review, there was acknowledgement that the cushion in the racing surface had improved, but that further work is still required.
Over the next month, RQ and the BRC will utilise today’s feedback from key stakeholders and leading industry experts in order to determine the best long-term outcome for Eagle Farm.
This includes laying a test plot of Kikuyu, whilst finalising next steps, to ensure the best possible racing surface at Eagle Farm.
