RACE ONE

After starting from gate 9 last time out and settled back in the pack, FRANCO NANDOR (8) was the best of the chasers to grab 2nd behind the dictating winner GENERAL MONTANA. Using the passing lane for 3rd two starts back when he just needed stronger momentum, he can be ready to strike.

SCOTCH EN ICE (3) has copped a second line gate at his past four in succession, the latest when also striking some trouble in the run and finishing at the rear behind ONE BIG SHEW. Strong to the line two starts back when midfield and 7m from HEZ DUSTY, the improved gate is a huge help.

MISTERY ROAD (6) faced gate 5 last start and was soon snagged to the rear and with it all in front of him at the bell. Making some nice metres in the closing stages against the tempo, he can feature.

GLENLEDI COMMANDER (1) should appreciate the improved gate after some tough alleys in recent starts. Asked to graft it out first over last start, he has the speed to make them chase.

SELECTIONS: FRANCO NANDOR (8), SCOTCH EN ICE (3), MISTERY ROAD (6), GLENLEDI COMMANDER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANCO NANDOR (8) to win

RACE TWO

This is a strong Band 5 contest with some talented performers ready to progress through the grades. With his runs spaced this season, UNCLE SHANK (8) has won 3 of his past 4, the miss coming in the Qld Sun when the 2138m and gate 7 was against him. A winner from the trail three runs back, he possesses electric speed and can be stalking them here.

KASHED UP (1) started in red figures last start from gate 5 where he drifted back before looking to improve but with no spot had to retreat. Strong to the line under the circumstances when 5m from the winner THE HONEY QUEEN, it followed a head margin to BEYOND DELIGHT. He holds the keys to the contest.

TIZ A SIZZLER (9) has returned from a long break in great order and was brave in defeat last week after covering plenty of extra ground wide out in the run. Blasting home to score two back, he can chime in.

ROCKIN WITH ELVIS (4) was a smart winner here last week when powering home in the closing stages from the second line to score. The early scratching’s make it a tougher ask to cross but he is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: UNCLE SHANK (8), KASHED UP (1), TIZ A SIZZLER (9), ROCKIN WITH ELVIS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: UNCLE SHANK (8) to win

RACE THREE

Second up from a spell last start, SHES MISS DEVINE (1) showed early hustle before finding 1x1 cover and then had the power to charge over the top to claim a mare’s qualifier. Gate 6 was her undoing first up, but with the added fitness, this being not much tougher and the good gate, she gets the chance to go back-to-back.

SLICK SOPHIE (3) fired out from gate 2 and held the front here two starts back and controlling the tempo was able to take them all the way. Beaten by gate 7 last start when easing early for position before trying to make ground as BALLERINI took the prize, she can settle closer to the action here.

IAMAJOYRIDE (2) has been returning some top efforts in recent outings, the latest when sitting parked and working hard to the line for 3rd behind BALLERINI. Settling handy from this gate, she can feature.

OAXACAN DREAM (4) eased from gate 6 last time out and was making good metres in the closing stages to grab 2nd. Fitter again now after four runs back from a spell, she can be joining in again.

SELECTIONS: SHES MISS DEVINE (1), SLICK SOPHIE (3), IAMAJOYRIDE (2), OAXACAN DREAM (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SHES MISS DEVINE (1) to win

RACE FOUR

Given a freshen after the Wondais Mate where he wilted in the closing stages NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (5) was taken to The Triangle to open the pipes in a trial hit out. It was a scintillating effort in front, never really asked for too much yet stopping the clock in 1.53.7. He might just have the zip to get across to the front here and would take some stopping in that scenario.

COLT THIRTY ONE (4) was sent around the field through the first 600m last start at the mile and was outside MACH DA VINCI and doing it the tough way. Fading to a midfield finish, he was 4m from STAR GALLERIA two runs back and from this gate can find position to challenge for his 50th victory.

MACH DA VINCI (7) took control over the mile last week and from the front was never in danger, ripping home a sizzling closing half highlighted by a 26.2 closing blitz. The outside gate dents the repeat hopes.

STAR GALLERIA (1) opened his Albion Park account here last start when securing the prefect trip on the back of the leader before landing the winning shot up the passing lane. He has the options from the ace.

SELECTIONS: NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (5), COLT THIRTY ONE (4), MACH DA VINCI (7), STAR GALLERIA (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

A tricky qualifier here where some of the stronger types looks drawn off the back line which makes early mapping interesting. GOOD AS IT GETS (8) has no worries with the trip and last start was game from gate 6 when sitting parked as TIZ A SIZZLER arrived. If gets the gap with momentum, he can arrive.

NICKS PICK (9) was back in the pack last start and struck a wheel issue with 600m to travel but made up a stack of ground between bends and loomed ominously, only to plateau in the closing stages.  Just a neck in arrears of OBI ONE here three starts back, he can be making a play here.

FALCONS (2) couldn’t get traction last week and was wide off the track from gate 10 over the closing stages. At his best in the closing stages, he will be looking for open road.

ISOLATION (10) pressed on with it at Redcliffe last start and worked to the front where he was hen able to dictate in claiming a 2m margin. With even luck he can be making a closing play.

SELECTIONS: GOOD AS IT GETS (8), NICKS PICK (9), FALCONS (2), ISOLATION (10)
SUGGESTED BET: GOOD AS IT GETS (8) to win

RACE SIX

With 2 wins in 5 starts here at The Creek, UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (2) probably deserves to have better figures than that after some top performances. Gate 7 was her undoing last week as CAPTAIN SHUFFLES blitzed them in front which followed a tough win. With the improved gate she can dictate.

DIGYOURHEELSIN (1) has placed in mares qualifying grade at her past two starts, beaten a half-head behind SLICK SOPHIE and then last week when eased to the poles from gate 6 and chasing DANCE IN THE SUN. With the chance of a perfect trip, she can be ready to take the snipers shot.

CALA JANE (10) looked to get every chance here last week from gate 1 and after securing the ideal trip in behind the speed, had to settle for the silver when 2m in arrears of the winner. The gate hurts.

LADY AVANA (9) was sent forward to sit parked from gate 5 last start and after the tough trip faded to finish midfield as DANCE IN THE SUN controlled it in front. With the right trail she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (2), DIGYOURHEELSIN (1), CALA JANE (10), LADY AVANA (9)
SUGGESTED BET: UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

A tricky race here for the mares balloted from race 6 with many of these searching for a turnaround, GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA (9) was a beaten fav last start when midfield behind JACCKA WALLY at the 2138m. She found the open mares out of reach the start prior but should appreciate conditions.

PLATINIM REVOLUTION (7) has had zero luck since arriving in Qld with Trent Dawson and cops another stinker at the barriers. Eased last week but unable to get warm as SHES MISS DEVINE took the prize, she charged home two back to be just a neck away. In this grade she can challenge.

DANCINTOTHEBEAT (5) secured the perfect trip in behind the speed last start from inside the second line and chased all the way behind DANCE IN THE SUN. The gate hurts but she can chime in.

SHESA POCKETROCKET (1) has hit the board at her past five in succession, including victory when charging home in the closing stages two starts back. This is her best gate in some time.

SELECTIONS: GUNNA NEEDAMARGARITA (9), PLATINIM REVOLUTION (7), DANCINTOTHEBEAT (5), SHESA POCKETROCKET (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Firing out from gate 4 in the 4YO Championship last start, BIG WHEELS (4) was looking for an all the way victory. With a strong tempo, he led deep into the stretch, only to be collared in the last stride and go under by a flared nostril. Runner-up in the Qld Sun three starts back, he can take this.

DELIGHTFUL DUDE (2) found an ideal contest midweek two starts back and pressed on to the front and controlled the temp over the mile to claim victory over subsequent winner TIZ A SIZZLER. Tackling the FFA last start when not helped by gate 6, the improved gate can see him throw it down.

MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (8) has been sectionally superb in the past two months but just cannot seem to land a win and is fast approaching 12 months since his last success. The second line options help.

SOHO SINATRA (1) resumes from a spell and has been to the Redcliffe trials twice to prepare for the first up effort. Claiming a pair of metro wins on The Triangle last campaign, the cosy trip suits fresh.

SELECTIONS: BIG WHEELS (4), DELIGHTFUL DUDE (2), MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (8), SOHO SINATRA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG WHEELS (4) to win

RACE TEN

VAN SANK (5)
started from the 20m tape last start and from the running line could only get within 7m of the winner GEE UP NEDDY. Charging home in the Qld Cup two starts back after giving away a stack of ground form the second line, he has the speed and should appreciate conditions here.

SIR FAHRENHEIT (6) has not fully hit his straps this campaign and has been freshened since his last appearance in the first round of the DJA Series. Just a half-head from WEE MAN TROUBLE three runs back, he was asked to work hard two back. The gate dents the chances again, but he cannot be overlooked.

FATHER CHRISTMAS (2) will need to take another step up in tougher grade but comes up with a handy gate to make a play. A tough winner from the tapes two starts back, he can join in.

IM THE COMMANDO (3) was safely into stride before releasing over the 2647m trip here last week and then held on for 3rd behind GEE UP NEDDY. Settling handy to the action will help his chances.

SELECTIONS: VAN SANK (5), SIR FAHRENHEIT (6), FATHER CHRISTMAS (2), IM THE COMMANDO (3)
SUGGESTED BET: VAN SANK (5) to win
