RACE TWO

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (6) has had 3 runs back from a break and been drawn wide in each and lands another wide alley here. He was finding the line strongly last start when the widest runner around the home turn. With some early pressure and tempo he can look to be sailing home late.

EVERYTHING (2) put together successive wins when finding the front and taking control over the mile. At his next 2 starts he put in some nice efforts for no reward and at his most recent run was working in the breeze when holding on for the bronze. He can ask the questions here.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1) was buried away on the pegs last start and never had a decent shot at them when finishing within 5m of the winner. With good early speed and options he can be thereabouts.

LUCIFERS LEGEND (9) returns from a spell and has been to the trials twice to open the pipes for his return with the 2nd of those a nice effort. With the early trail through he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (6), EVERYTHING (2), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1), LUCIFERS LEGEND (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (6) each-way

RACE THREE

BALLYMORE BOY (5) has been knocking on the door with some strong efforts at his past 3, all from 2nd line gates. Last start he was angled to the pegs to look for short-cuts off gate 11 and never had a crack at them when under 5m. In a similar position 2 starts back, he looks well placed to breakthrough.

PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (3) was finding the line nicely over the AP mile 3 starts back after snagging back from gate 7 and didn’t have much luck at his next run from another wide gate. Sent forward to try to get across them in the middle stages last start, the improved gate can see him challenge.

THATS HOW WEROLL (1) started from gate 12 last start and was always facing a task with all the speed set from the front. He found the line nicely 2 starts back and from the gate will be in the mix.

TED WEST (4) was sent forward from gate 7 last start and was working in the run when the effort told and he faded late. With good early speed he can find a handy position and will be fighting hard.

SELECTIONS: BALLYMORE BOY (5), PRINCE OF ZANZIBAR (3), THATS HOW WEROLL (1), TED WEST (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BALLYMORE BOY (5) to win

RACE FOUR

MARETTI (3)
does his best work when able to roll along in front and since returning from a spell he has been unable to find condition to suit. Last start from gate 4 he was doing all the hard yards outside the leader which followed a wide run from the 2nd line. He looks to get every chance here.

BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (1) features in a stable switch and will be 1st up from a break for Richard March. He hasn’t been seen a the trials and gets the perfect gate for hi return to get the cosy trail and be ready for a closing shot. Effective when saved for the closing run he can be ready to strike.

TOMEARA (7) has no favours from the wide gate but can do his share of work in the run. Winner in 2 of 3 runs since returning from a break he found the line strongly last start and can feature again.

THE BOYS GNP (10) missed a top 3 finish for the 1st time in 11 starts in Qld last time out but the run was still full of merit when doing plenty of work and only 5m from the winner. He will be in the fight.

SELECTIONS: MARETTI (3), BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (1), TOMEARA (7), THE BOYS GNP (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MARETTI (3) to win

RACE FIVE

OHOKA PUNTER (9) was solid in defeat in the Christmas Cup at Redcliffe when racing wide off the track and chasing hard behind the all the way winner SAMS A CHAMP. The start prior saw him have no luck in the Qld Cup when landing gate 7 and forced to snag back he can look to atone in this.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (10) started from the 2nd line last start but was able to display his class when finishing to strongly over the top to arrive for the prize. Run down when setting the speed in the Qld Cup the start prior at his 1st run back from a break, with the added fitness he will give this a big shake.

OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1) wasn’t suited last start when forced to do some early work before receiving cover yet she still finished in good style. Best suited when saved for a swooping shot, look for rattling home.

THE SPACE INVADER (2) secured the perfect run in the trail last start and was hitting the line hard to get within a neck of GLENFERRIE HOOD. With the speed to find the pegs he will then have options.

SELECTIONS: OHOKA PUNTER (9), GLENFERRIE HOOD (10), OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1), THE SPACE INVADER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OHOKA PUNTER (9) to win

RACE SIX

OFFICIANADO (1)
doesn’t have the best of numbers next to his name but he might just be going better than those returns suggest. Luckless last start in a slick mile when trying to find position he wasn’t suited the start prior when forced to face the breeze. With the ace gate he can look to dictate.

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (9) was sent to the pegs last start and didn’t see space when needed behind COREY WILLIAM. That followed a run from the breeze in a slick closing 800m which took the wind out of his sails. He can settle in a handy position from this gate and be looking to challenge late.

READILY (8) stuck to the pegs at Redcliffe 2 starts back and with the cosy trip was able to hold on for the bronze. With a similar trip here behind the likely leader he will be looking to find the podium.

ROCKNROLL MUSIC (3) will strip fitter following his return from a break when 1st up at Redcliffe he worked home from a long way back to grab the silver. This is harder but he can settle close to fill the exotics.

SELECTIONS: OFFICIANADO (1), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (9), READILY (8), ROCKNROLL MUSIC (3)
SUGGESTED BET: OFFICIANADO (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

COLD IDEAL (4) has been runner-up in 2 runs back from a spell the latest when beaten the barest possible margin. Starting from inside the 2nd line he was in the pocket trail and along the passing lane was only grabbed on the line. He charged home from well back when 1st up and can go 1 better.

MAJESTIC MAJOR (2) started from the 2nd line last time out and found the line in good order to be 7m from the winner. Forced to do it tough 2 starts back from gate 7 when facing the breeze, he gets his chance to dictate from the good gate in this and will be gripping to the lead.

CLARKEY (1) was hitting the line strongly last start when settling a long way back in the pack and running some tidy sections. From the gate he gets a perfect trip and be ready to take the snipers shot.

FLAMING HERO (8) will be needing his share of luck in the run but from the gate won’t have to spend a cent until the gaps arrive. After 4 runs back from a break he can be swooping hard.

SELECTIONS: COLD IDEAL (4), MAJESTIC MAJOR (2), CLARKEY (1), FLAMING HERO (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-4-8

RACE EIGHT

OUR OVERANOVA (11)
was chasing last start but was unable to pick up MAYBETOTHEMAX who was able to take control from the front over the 2647 stand last start. That was a tidy return after a pair of sub-par returns in the DJA heats and with the return to the AP mobile trip he can bounce back.

NEEDLE (10) was game in defeat in the DJA Final off a 10m mark when rolling forward and doing all the work in the run when 3rd to MONARO MIA. Her 1st round heat win was a strong effort as was her 2nd round placing and despite the gate she will be throwing down the challenge.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (7) had been runner-up in successive starts at Redcliffe including a solid effort behind NEEDLE. Too strong last start when finding the front, he will be in the mix despite the tricky alley.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (2) has good early speed from the mobile and from gate 2 can pounce on the pegs and from there she will have the options. She found the line nicely last start and is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (11), NEEDLE (10), MAYBETOTHEMAX (7), QUIETLY SPOKEN (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (11) to win

RACE NINE

MIGHT AND MAIN (2)
has been freshened since her last outing when hitting the line strongly to be 5.5m from the winner EVERYTHING. The start prior she run into the star COLT THIRTY ONE which followed a strong 3rd. Back to mares only company from a good gate she can look to land the prize.

ROCKNROLL EMMA (8) dominated her opponents at Redcliffe 2 starts back when pushing on to the front to take control, scoring by 11m with a further 20m back to 3rd. Wide off the track last start when trying to make ground in strong sections, she will be ready to take a closing shot here.

JUST ROKIN (5) was forced to work in the run last start after having a solid early shot and faded off after a tough run over the 2138m trip. Back to the mile suits and she can be thereabouts.

VALTONA (1) can look to capitalise on an improved gate after finding some tricky alleys in recent starts. Yet to be seen in front in 9 Qld starts, she will be hustling to protect but does have the options.

SELECTIONS: MIGHT AND MAIN (2), ROCKNROLL EMMA (8), JUST ROKIN (5), VALTONA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MIGHT AND MAIN (2) to win

RACE TEN

VILLAGE CRUISER (3)
chased gamely for the bronze over the mile here 5 starts back in a strong rate. Not entirely suited at his next 3 starts, he made the most of the gate in the heats of this series when getting to the front and taking control for a 9m victory. He can look to take control here.

JACKS GAMBIT (4) has been racing well without getting much reward for his efforts but was able to prove too strong from then breeze in his heat. Starting fav from gate 2 he cut the breeze and forged clear to a 7m victory. A tough 2nd 3 starts back from gate 7, he can be asking the questions here.

DIAMONDSFROMHEAVEN (10) had finished mid-field in successive mares qualifiers and made the most of the drop in class to take them all the way in her heat of this series. Despite the tough gate she can feature.

ELZBOY (5) will be fitter following his return from a break in these heats when returning a solid run wide off the track. With even luck in transit he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: VILLAGE CRUISER (3), JACKS GAMBIT (4), DIAMONDSFROMHEAVEN (10), ELZBOY (5)
SUGGESTED BET:
