RACE TWO

LEFT A TERROR (6) returns for his 3YO term without a trial after a 16 start 2YO season that saw him in the money in 10 appearances. Starting in red figures at his final run for the season from gate 1 he was burned in a 27.1 opener and fought gamely to go under by 3m. He is worth a shot first-up.

A LOT OF COST (3) also returns to start his 3YO term after 1 win and 3 placings from 7 starts as a 2YO. Showing improvement he was nearing a win after 3 successive placed runs and then cashed-in with an all the way win over the mile here at AP. Given an easy trial to prepare he can feature.

MISS MIA (2) will strip fitter for her first up effort when working hard in the run when cutting the breeze and finishing 9m from the winner MONTANA CHIEF. With the good gate she is in the mix.

GODDESS JUJON (1) will be tightened from her return to the track after chasing gamely behind MONTANA CHIEF. A two-time winner at 2, she should enjoy a great run in transit and be ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: LEFT A TERROR (6), A LOT OF COST (3), MISS MIA (2), GODDESS JUJON (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

MATT BELFORD (2) circled them early from the 2nd line to get in the action at Redcliffe 2 starts back and was strong to the line to finish a 3m 2nd. Last start from gate 6 he again was forced to do plenty of work in the run which took a toll. Back to the main draw he looks to get every chance to dictate.

SNAKES N LADDERS (3) was buried away on the pegs last start and chased in vain when the winner opened the field up at the 300m. He worked home in good order 2 starts back and with the right cover in transit can be working home into the money late.

SLIPPERY JADE (11) will take further benefit from her latest outing when 2nd up from a break. Taking the trail off gate 1 she chased hard over the 2138m to grab the bronze. The gate hurts but she has a class edge over some of these.

CAESARS ASTRUM (6) chased gamely from the pocket trail last start to hold on for 3rd behind the all-the-way winner FEEL THE CHARM. That followed a nice effort in a strong mares race and despite the gate has place hopes.

SELECTIONS: MATT BELFORD (2), SNAKES N LADDERS (3), SLIPPERY JADE (11), CAESARS ASTRUM (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MATT BELFORD (2) to win

RACE FOUR

MAJESTIC KIWI (1) has not been having the best of luck with barriers in recent starts and lines up here at his Qld debut with the ace gate. A Penrith winner 3 starts back over the sprint trip when making a strong run wide out, he was too far back last start. From the gate he can look to dominate.

BLINGITTOTHEMAX (6) has no favours from this alley but will be tightened from his latest start when resuming from a break. Settling in the pocket trail he was trying to take a closing shot when 2.5m from the leader and winner THE BOYS GNP. He will need some favours in transit but can swoop.

PACIFIC DRUMS (7)  finally broke through for a Qld win when taking them all the way over the Redcliffe 2040m trip and backed that up with a nice win off gate 9. The 7 hurts but he can’t be ignored.

OASIS DREAM (8) hasn’t been too far away of late and last time was working home in good order behind EVERYTHING. With the benefit of a soft run in transit he can look for the gaps to finish in the money.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC KIWI (1), BLINGITTOTHEMAX (6), PACIFIC DRUMS (7), OASIS DREAM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC KIWI (1) to win

RACE FIVE

MARETTI (5) was 2nd up in a heat of the AYDC when forced to cover plenty of extra territory off the 2nd line and the effort took its toll when fading out. He started fav when resuming at Redcliffe from gate 4 when fighting hard from the breeze. From the gate he ca force the issue and look to control.
SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (2)
will be 1st up in Qld after joining the Grant Dixon barn and arrives with some handy form references. Beaten behind THE DEMOCRAT 2 starts back, he was forced to cover plenty of ground last start behind HOSIER LANE. With good early speed, moving in to gate 1 is a big plus and offers the options.

ONE WISE MAN (4) had some gear issues last start which hampered his chances when running into COLT THIRTY ONE. His run 3 starts back was a tidy effort at Redcliffe and he can look for a podium.

RANFURLY RULZ (7) has no favours from the wide gate but arrives with some handy form prior to being sent for a break. Grabbed in the closing stages last start when resuming he has place hopes from the tough alley.

SELECTIONS: MARETTI (5), SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (2), ONE WISE MAN (4), RANFURLY RULZ (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MARETTI (5) to win

RACE SIX

TRILIGHT BRIGADE (8) has yet to miss a quinella finish in Qld in 4 appearances with a pair each of wins and 2nds. Last start from gate 6 she did all the work outside the leader an winner THE BOYS GNP and went down fighting when 2m from victory over the 2138m. The gate will see her relying on some factors in her favour, but is worth the chance.

KEY LARGO (6) was forced to work hard in the breeze last start over the Redcliffe 2040m trip and was game to the line when 6m from the winner PATERNITY SUIT. That followed an all the way win from gate 1 at Redcliffe and despite a tough gate he can be right in the fight here.

THE BOYS GNP (9) is in great touch and last start went all the way from gate 2 in scoring a strong 2138m victory. He chased gamely the start prior and will be looking to swoop home late here.

ITSADANCEOFF (2) makes his Qld debut for Trevor Lambourn after having started 4 times in Sydney since resuming from a spell. A tidy Penrith winner from gate 10 3 starts back he will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: TRILIGHT BRIGADE (8), KEY LARGO (6), THE BOYS GNP (9), ITSADANCEOFF (2)
SUGGESTED BET: TRILIGHT BRIGADE (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

TOMEARA (3) will strip fitter following his return from a break where he was able to lead all the way from gate 1 over the Redcliffe 2040m trip. A passing lane winner here at AP 3 starts back his last run before going for a break had merit behind OUR CHITTYBANGBANG. He can have an early look here.

ANNA BAY AL (9) was shooting for a hat-trick of victories last start when meeting a much stronger line-up than he faces here and striking trouble in the run. He took them all the way at Redcliffe 2 starts back and with the right early trail here will be looking to throw down a challenge.

GRINVIL (5) sat in the pocket trail off gate 1 over the mile 2 starts back and was strong to the line when only 5m from GANGSTER BOY. Only 7m from BODHI TREE last start she faces a class drop and is in the mix.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1) was looking to take them all the way over the mile last start and was only grabbed in the closing stages when gunned down by SHARDS HALO. The middle distance is not his ideal trip but he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: TOMEARA (3), ANNA BAY AL (9), GRINVIL (5), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TOMEARA (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

MARK OF INTEGRITY (6) started from gate 4 here last week and was charging home wide out when getting within a half-neck of the winner EVERYTHING, who has since won again. That followed a strong finish when 7m from NUI TOC TIEN at Menangle and he will be flying late again.

POLISHED ROCKS (11) has the tough gate to negotiate but should appreciate getting back to this class of contest. Only 6m from BODHI TREE last start he chased hard behind THE SPACE INVADER 2 starts back and can feature here.

GASMONKEY (3) will strip fitter following his return from a spell last start. Crossed early from gate 1, the pocket trail is not really his go but he fought hard when 4m from the winner. He can look to apply some pressure and is an exotic player.

SELECTIONS:  MARK OF INTEGRITY (6), POLISHED ROCKS (11), GASMONKEY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: POLISHED ROCKS (11) each-way
