RACE TWO

ONLY ONE PROMISE (2) started from the 2nd line and finished best to score a nice win at Redcliffe 3 starts back over the 2040m trip and followed that with a tough run when fighting hard to the line behind TOMEARA. He covered plenty of territory last start from gate 7 and with the improved gate gets his chance.

ELMS CREEK (1) started from the 2nd line here on Tues at his 1st Qld appearance and worked home in good order over the 2138m. A Newcastle winner 2 starts back when hitting the line nicely from gate 6 to arrive as a short priced fav, he can make the most of the options from the ace here.

CHARMING MAJOR (9) will strip fitter following his latest run at Newcastle when resuming from a break. Making a mess of the start early he closed out in good style. Trailing through early he has claims.

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (8) lands the right gate for his preferred pattern and will be coiled and ready to issue a closing challenge. A passing lane winner 3 starts back, look for him probing for the run.

SELECTIONS: ONLY ONE PROMISE (2), ELMS CREEK (1), CHARMING MAJOR (9), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ONLY ONE PROMISE (2) to win

RACE THREE

SPIRIT WALKER (1) is in great touch this season and came into this series off the back of a big win at Redcliffe where she posted a 24m winning margin after starting from a 40m tape. In the round 1 heat she released the front after stepping cleanly and was 3rd to NEEDLE. She will be right in the fight.

SPUD (11) was 4th in the 1st round heats and should take further benefit from the run after being 2nd up from a break. His 1st up run was a tidy effort over the mobile 2138m trip when buried away on the pegs and with the right run in transit here can issue a challenge.
MONARO MIA (2) found the line in good style in round 1 after being slowly into gait and settling back in the pack in the run. A strong mobile winner 2 starts back, from position 2 she is in the mix.

ANY OLD WAY (9) was somewhat of a surprise round 1 winner when charging home strongly to arrive for the win. That was his 2nd run in Qld and with further improvement can challenge.

SELECTIONS: SPIRIT WALKER (1), SPUD (11), MONARO MIA (2), ANY OLD WAY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SPIRIT WALKER (1) to win

RACE FOUR

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1)
has found his mojo again and looked to be knocking on the door after successive 2nd placed runs at the mile. With the hoof on the till he made full use of gate 1 on Tues over the 2138m and took them all the way for a 5m victory. From the gate he can repeat the dose.

SOMEROSESOMEWHERE (2) worked home in good order here last start when buried on the pegs and making good closing ground to grab the bronze behind COLT THIRTY ONE. From this gate she can look to drop in behind the 1 for the cosy trip and be ready to issue the closing challenge.

MARK OF INTEGRITY (7) has been unable to convert his effort to success at his past 2 starts, racing with no luck at all. His run on Tues was huge when 3-wide the trip and with a tough gate the place looks the best play.

LENNY THE LEGEND (5) rolled forward early from gate 5 before finding cover and then angled into open air in the stretch showed his closing power to score over the 2138m. He can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1), SOMEROSESOMEWHERE (2), MARK OF INTEGRITY (7), LENNY THE LEGEND (5)
SUGGESTED BET: PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1) to win

RACE FIVE

NEEDLE (10) was in another league in the first round when sent forward in the middle stages to find the front and after taking control was eased down to score by a big space. That followed a tough 1780m mobile win at Redcliffe and with the strength of the last win the hat-trick is well within reach.

MIRACLE RISING (4) worked hard in the run when sitting in the breeze outside NEEDLE and fought gamely to hold on for the silver behind the dominant winner. He hit the line nicely the start prior when 8m from OUR OVERANOVA under mobile conditions and over the 2138m is a big threat.

OUR OVERANOVA (12) had scored 2 strong wins including a Redcliffe win off 50m leading into the first round last week. Not at his best last week, he will be much sharper here with a big finish needed to secure a ticket to the final.

MATATOKI (6) was an eye catcher in the first round after making an early error and losing valuable ground. Resetting he was able to chase gamely when 6th to ANY OLD WAY. Staying in his gear he will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: NEEDLE (10), MIRACLE RISING (4), OUR OVERANOVA (12), MATATOKI (6)
SUGGESTED BET: NEEDLE (10) to win

RACE SIX

OUR MELS DREAM (3)
was luckless last week and in a blanket finish with runners all across the track, he was in behind them with nowhere to go looking for a gap and although officially last, he was under 5m from the winner. With his best gate for some time he can take control of this.

RORY MACH (1) was working home in good order to be close up behind CLASSY GUY last start which followed a 3rd when under 3m from the winner COMPLY OR DIE. He led them up in that race and with the benefit of the cosy trip here can look to issue the closing challenge.

CLASSY GUY (4) was sent to the front last start from gate 3 over the mile and after taking control was able to stave off the challengers to score. The 2138m trip is a query but he can be thereabouts.

COMPLY OR DIE (5) is never far from the action and last start was hitting the line strongly to get within a half-neck. With the right cover he can be challenging late.

SELECTIONS: OUR MELS DREAM (3), RORY MACH (1), CLASSY GUY (4), COMPLY OR DIE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MELS DREAM (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

GIVE ME A GO (1) returns for his 3YO season and has been to the trial once to prepare. A winner once form 8 appearances in his maiden season, he scored a tough win from the breeze and followed that with a nice run when 4m from GINGER MICKY. With the options from the gate he can make a wining return.

TAXI METER (5) will be tightened from his run here on Tues when starting from inside the 2nd line he used the passing lane to get within a head of the winner GODDESS JUJON. He might need to work at some stage from this gate but can look to ask the questions at the finish.

MAYWYN TOUGH (2) worked forward early to take control over the 1780m at Redcliffe 2 starts back and was only grabbed late up the passing lane. He can take an early shot here and be gripping on.

SEA HAWKE (3) scored the lone victory from 9 attempts during his 2YO season and will line up here for the 1st time at 3. Not pushed in a trial to open the pipes, he won’t be too far away.

SELECTIONS: GIVE ME A GO (1), TAXI METER (5), MAYWYN TOUGH (2), SEA HAWKE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GIVE ME A GO (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

DUKE OF ALBANY (2)
resumes from a freshen and drops back to the claiming ranks after transferring to  trainer Ryan Veivers. Plagued by bad barriers, some as a result of his own manners, his form was solid without being able to land a winning blow. From the gate he can look to fire the 1st shot and break his Qld maiden status.

DIVAS DELIGHT (4) did some early work in the run 2 starts back and was still giving in the run to the judge when 6m from the winner FIOKI. Buried in the run last start he was hitting the line hard in a nice effort behind ILLAWONG DREAMTIME. In this type of claiming event he is right in the mix.

WATTLEBANK FLYER (5) is another dropping into the claiming ranks for this series and was luckless last start when buried in the run and striking trouble. Only beaten a head 4 starts back he took on a strong race taken by FRANKIE ROCKS 3 starts back and has claims here.

SELECTIONS: DUKE OF ALBANY (2), DIVAS DELIGHT (4), WATTLEBANK FLYER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: DUKE OF ALBANY (2) to win
