Jockey Robbie Fradd will be out to extend his dream run since returning from a successful stint in Mauritius when he rides a host of key chances at Doomben on Saturday.

The South African native signaled his return to Queensland with a winning treble at Doomben on December 19, which kick-started a run of 10 winners in the past nine days.

The run continued at the Sunshine Coast on Boxing Day when he landed an early double aboard the Matt Dunn-trained Sunlit and the Kris Lees-trained Sasso Corbaro.

“I’ve been lucky enough to get a few winners but as we know, racing can be an up and down game so hopefully we can keep it going,” he said.

“My manager Glen Courtney has done a great job and it has been good having the support of trainers like Matt Dunn and Chris Waller again.”

Fradd looks set to take four rides at Ipswich on Friday before he steers Krameric (BJ McLachlan Stakes) and Tumultuous (Shoot Out Qlty) for Waller on Saturday.

He’ll also partner the Ben Currie-trained Kay Kay Boy (Bernborough Hcp), Mishani Hustler (Falvelon Qlty) and Fomo (Summer Provincial Final).

The 1999-2000 Hong Kong jockeys’ champion will look to end 'Road To Magic Millions' Day on a winning note with the Godolphin-trained Demerara in the Listed Nudgee Stakes for Fillies and Mares.

“I had a couple of rides for (Godolphin) last year during the winter and am looking forward to getting back on some of their horses again, especially for James Cummings who is a young, ambitious trainer,” Fradd said.

Fradd sat second behind countryman Jeff Lloyd in the metropolitan premiership upon his departure in May and, remarkably, held on to finish third despite a three-month absence.

His decision to fulfil a contract in Mauritius for the first time in 25 years was justified when he claimed his second jockeys’ title with 34 winners.

Fradd relocated to Queensland in 2014 and has twice finished third in the Brisbane premiership, with fellow South African Jeff Lloyd winning the past three.

Fradd arrived back in Brisbane to see the Jockeys’ room bolstered by the arrival of Victorians Ryan Maloney and Dale Smith, who have both enjoyed early success.

“They’re good riders and very nice guys,” Fradd said.

“It’s good to have competition. It makes you up your game a little bit and you try your best to beat them.”
