RACE TWO

TOPNOTCH MACH (1) started from gate 2 last time out but didn’t have the speed to get across to the pegs and settled in the breeze early prior to receiving some cover. He couldn’t go when the sprint went on, but with the chance to lead here, where he is a much better proposition, he can cash-in.

KISS CAM (5) wasn’t bothered in holding on to the front here last start from gate 1 over the sprint trip and once in control kept the tempo on to score a strong victory. He didn’t have much luck the start prior from gate 6 when forced to retreat yet only 4m from the winner. He can challenge again.

JANIES GOT A GUN (9) settled in the pocket trail last start in a mares qualifier when charging late but falling 3m short of the winner. Her record here is handy and with the right trail can get close.

HES NOVAK (10) has the tough gate to overcome here but should find these opponents easier than recent outings. Wide and working behind PACIFIC DRUMS last start, he will be working home late.

SELECTIONS: TOPNOTCH MACH (1), KISS CAM (5), JANIES GOT A GUN (9), HES NOVAK (10)
SUGGESTED BET: TOPNOTCH MACH (1) to win

RACE THREE

LETS DIG IT (9) held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start and was chasing hard to hold the bronze behind DOLLARBILL. Only a half-head from the winner 3 starts back, his run 2 starts back was full of merit. Coming into this fresh with a 6-week break between runs can arrive for the prize.

GIVE ME FIFTY (3) settled in the running line from the 2nd line here 4 starts back and with the right run in transit arrived to claim a narrow victory. Not entirely suited through the heat and final of the Marburg to Albion series at his next 2, he was buried and against the tempo last start. This suits.

TRACES OF TARA (2) worked across from gate 6 here last start but couldn’t find the pegs and was forced to cut the breeze throughout. Only 5m away the start prior, she can look to dictate.

REDDY FIRE (1) fought hard for the silver last start after letting the eventual winner go the front and then popping off the pegs to face the breeze. With a softer trip on offer, he can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: LETS DIG IT (9), GIVE ME FIFTY (3), TRACES OF TARA (2), REDDY FIRE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LETS DIG IT (9) to win

RACE FOUR

MAYWYNS HONEY (7)
didn’t have things work out last start from inside the 2nd line when she struck trouble and finished down the line behind PRETTYINTHEOUTBACK. Her effort was sound the start prior behind OUR ULTIMATE VICKI and with the right run here can be ready to take the closing shot.

CHARAS ACCENT (1) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when fading out after working hard in the run to get to the breeze from a 2nd line gate. Game in defeat when fighting hard to be 3m away and claim 2nd here 3 starts back, he can look to capitalise on the ace to dictate.

BELLA GODIVA (9) has been off the 2nd line at all 3 starts this prep and will have to overcome the nine-hole once again here. Returning to maiden company is a big plus and look for her chiming in.

MELTON MAX GENTLE (8) made an error 2 starts back that saw hi excluded from the draw. Sound to the line last start, he earns the return to the main draw and sneaking along the inside can place here.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS HONEY (7), CHARAS ACCENT (1), BELLA GODIVA (9), MELTON MAX GENTLE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-7-8-9

RACE FIVE

In a tricky race to close out the UTAB Quaddie, it might be winning form that can get the job done and GIGANTIC JASPER (4) can bring that to this contest. Finishing over the top to claim victory here on Sun night, it followed a good 2nd under the circumstances after a pre-race incident saw him dump the driver. This is no harder.

THE LAST DRAGON (1) went to the pegs looking for the short way home last start and from 3 back on the inside just missed a minor number when 5.5m from the winner WHATA REACTOR. From the gate he will have the options and gets his chance to chase down career win number 2.

A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (8) is racing well without winning and has now been runner-up at his past 2 appearances. Tough in the breeze 2 starts back when beaten 5m, he can be thereabouts again here.

AT RANDOM (2) will take benefit from his return to the track last time out when setting the speed in front before fading late. Fitter from that run, he can settle handy and has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: GIGANTIC JASPER (4), THE LAST DRAGON (1), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (8), AT RANDOM (2)
SUGGESTED BET: GIGANTIC JASPER (4) to win

RACE SIX

TROUBLESOME DAVE (5) started fav last time out from inside the 2nd line and soon after the start was buried in transit and needing plenty of luck. When the opportunity for space came, he was left flat-footed. Game in the breeze the start prior, the smaller field suits and he gets a chance to atone.

BACK PAGE NEWS (7) has early options as the lone 2nd line runner here and will be further tightened from his latest offering when 3rd up from a spell. Chasing in vain from gate 10 as PACIFIC DRUMS ran them ragged in front last start, he can be in the right position to strike in the stretch.

BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (2) will also strip fitter from his latest start when 3rd up off a 10-month break. That was from gate 9 behind PACIFIC DRUMS and with the right run he is in the mix.

IN THE PAPER (3) pressed on from gate 6 last start and was doing his share of work in the breeze when fighting hard to the line behind COMMODORE JUJON. With an improved gate he has claims.

SELECTIONS: TROUBLESOME DAVE (5), BACK PAGE NEWS (7), BUCKHORN EXCHANGE (2), IN THE PAPER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: TROUBLESOME DAVE (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

CANNAN (3) finally broke through to claim his 1st career victory here last start when finishing over the top and arriving on the line to score. He was building towards the moment of glory with placings in 4 of his previous 6 and from this gate can use the confidence building win to repeat the dose.

VILLAGE CRUISER (5) has worked his way back in the ratings and finds himself a suitable target here despite the sticky gate. He chased hard from the 1x1 when mid-field to BLACKSADANCE 2 starts back and then last start was just too far back. Settling near the speed he can throw down a challenge.

CHASIN DREAMZ (4) should be nearing a fitness peak after 3 runs back from a break with all 3 coming from tough draws. With good early speed she can fire the 1st shot here and give some cheek.

ROCK THE HOUSE (2) is another that busted his maiden tag last start and from the gate gets his chance to go back-to-back in quick succession. Working home to score at Marburg, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: CANNAN (3), VILLAGE CRUISER (5), CHASIN DREAMZ (4), ROCK THE HOUSE (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

MY PRECIOUS YANKEE (5) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when working hard in the breeze over this trip and fading in the latter stages when mid-field to LAVROS SEGIL. That followed a similarly tough trip in a stronger race behind REGAL ASSASSIN. Pressing forward, he can take this.

MYRTLE BEACH (4) should enjoy the return to the sprint trip from the 10m tape after her past 3 have been over the longer 2280m trip. 4 starts back over this trip she was hitting the line nicely to get within a half-head of the winner and with the right cart into the contest can be challenging.

DAY TOURER (8) did some early work when pressing ahead from the 20m tape and was still trying hard when 4th over the 2280m last start. Brilliant from the tapes, he will be in the mix.

ROSEHILL MAGIC (10) made an early move from the 30m tape and kept pushing to find the front here 2 starts back and once in control held them all off. The 40m over the sprint hurts, but she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: MY PRECIOUS YANKEE (5), MYRTLE BEACH (4), DAY TOURER (8), ROSEHILL MAGIC (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MY PRECIOUS YANKEE (5) to win
