RACE TWO

TACTICAL RESPONSE (4) landed gate 6 in the Band 5 Final when wide before easing to find position and was then too far back when trying to launch a closing raid. In a muddled run the start prior when working early outside the leader, if he can settle close enough, he can cash-in for a well-deserved win after some terrific runs have not given a winning reward of late.

PARAVANI (1) was left in front in a heat of the No Band Series 2 starts back and allowed to dictate cruised home to the easiest of victories. Landing inside the 2nd line in the Final, he was soon buried in the run, but when the gap opened, he really exploded to be only a head from the winner FRANCO HAMPTON. He steps up in grade but has the gate to challenge hard.

COURAGEOUS SAINT (8) was buried away from this gate last start when probing for the gaps to be 9m from the winner LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN. Likely to be locked away again here, he will be just waiting for some space.

BUMPER (6) was wide for the last lap at The Triangle last time out and still had bullets to fire in the stretch when landing a narrow victory. The wide gate stings his chances here, but with some tempo he can be working into the money.

SELECTIONS: TACTICAL RESPONSE (4), PARAVANI (1), COURAGEOUS SAINT (8), BUMPER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TACTICAL RESPONSE (4) to win

RACE THREE

After a strong victory in the Be Good Johnny Sprint COLT THIRTY ONE (1) continued his infatuation with poor gates when landing gate 6 in the Qld Cup and then 10 in the Blacks A Fake. Dead game in defeat on both occasions when doing all the bullocking in the breeze, he will need to hustle early but, in this line-up, he can flex his muscle.

ONE CHANGE (4) found himself buried away 3 back against the poles from gate 1 when stepping up to the Blacks A Fake last start. Sound to the line behind the star winner, it followed placings in the lead-up events when only beaten a neck and 2m. Early position will be key to what sort of challenge he can launch.

BRIGHT ENERGY (12) is drawn poorly because of his manners which let him down in the Qld Cup when chasing gamely to be 5m from the winner CRUZ. Trying to make a closing bid wide off the track last start, he will be better suited in these conditions to feature.

ESCALERA (8) takes the step-up to take on the FFA ranks after a smart win here last week. After doing some early work before cover arrived, he will be the recipient of a soft trip here to make a claim for the podium.

SELECTIONS: COLT THIRTY ONE (1), ONE CHANGE (4), BRIGHT ENERGY (12), ESCALERA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 4-8-12

RACE FOUR

ARNOLD (8) has found his mojo in the Cross barn and lines up here looking to complete a quintet of victories since transferring. Safely away from the mobile last start to find the front, he kept the speed up to ease down to the wire for a comfortable 7m victory. The rise to the 2647m does not look a concern and he can go 5 for 5.

MAJESTIC SIMON (9) was sent around them in the early stages from the 2nd line last start when trying to out-muscle ARNOLD. Unable to go on with it, he faded to be 12m in arrears of the winner. That followed a sharp DJA Final victory over this trip when in front after 300m. Back to the 20m stings, but he has the class to challenge.

NEEDABACARDI (6) rolled forward from gate 5 under the mobile conditions last start and was still whacking away when claiming the bronze behind ARNOLD. The wider position stings, but he can be right in the fight with even luck in transit.

OUR OVERANOVA (10) loves these conditions and lands a bonus of having to come off just 30m. Tackling the DJA series of that impost, the smaller field here will suit and with not much going his way his past 2, can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: ARNOLD (8), MAJESTIC SIMON (9), NEEDABACARDI (6), OUR OVERANOVA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: ARNOLD (8) to win

RACE FIVE

Crying out to claim one of these qualifiers, B MAC C (5) may just have finally found the conditions. Fighting hard last start when finishing 5m in arrears of the winner, he was charging home the start prior after retreating early from gate 7. Limiting the early burn without getting too far back is the conundrum, but he can strike.

LITTLE BOLT (2) was given a shot at the 4YO Championship last start and was far from disgraced behind BALRAJ after retreating from gate 7. The start prior nothing went to script when trying to slide in but forced to go back. With the improved gate, he can be in the mix.

ONE OFF (1) had been building towards something with some handy efforts and then loomed when 1m from the prize 2 starts back. Cashing in last start when swooping late, he can get the right trip to feature.

LOOKING FABULOUS (4) took on a much stronger contest last start when 3-wide for a long way with the effort taking its toll. Runner-up at her previous 2 starts, she can settle close enough to be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: B MAC C (5), LITTLE BOLT (2), ONE OFF (1), LOOKING FABULOUS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: B MAC C (5) to win

RACE SIX

STRADDIE (2)
sat back in the pack from the 2nd line last start and with a solid tempo being set from the front, was able to swoop home over the top to claim his 1st win in Qld. Mid-field when using the passing lane the start prior behind BALRAJ, he can capitalise on the conditions.

BOMB SUIT (1) set the speed in the JC McMullen over this trip 2 starts back and was left vulnerable in the closing stages as WILL THE WIZARD descended from the clouds to claim victory. Looking to take them all the way last start in the BILL DIXON, he led for every stage bar the most important. With the options, he looks hard to stop.

GEORGIE MARTIN (5) secured the pocket trail from gate 1 last start in the Forever Gold Mares Classic when trying to launch a closing raid to be 2m from the winner NO WIN NO FEED. With even luck in transit, she can be thereabouts.

BOHANNAN (8) was asked to do it the tough way last start and sent forward from gate 4 was in for the fight after cutting the breeze and holding on for the bronze behind PACIFIC DRUMS. With a soft trip he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: STRADDIE (2), BOMB SUIT (1), GEORGIE MARTIN (5), BOHANNAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

LISA LINCOLN (8) faced a tough gate last start in a much stronger contest when closing out strongly in the stretch to be 5m in arrears of the winner CHEVRONS REWARD. Down the line behind that same mare the start prior in the Queen of the Creek, she has the 2nd line options as the only runner off the back and returning to mares company looks ideal.

FOND MEMORIES (2) is a 3YO filly taking on the older mares after a luckless run last time out in the Bill Dixon. Landing gate 7 for that assignment, she did well to within 5m of the winner STRADDIE. Runner-up at both previous starts in 3YO fillies’ company, she can settle close enough to challenge.

MILLWOOD TILLY (3) rolled the sleeves last start when asked to work hard in the run and she was in for the fight when grinding out a smart win over the 2138m trip. This is slightly tougher, but she can feature.

ALE ALE KAI (1) will get the economical trip against the poles and will be ready to take her shot in the stretch. 5m from RUN BOY RUN here mid-week, with even luck she is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: LISA LINCOLN (8), FOND MEMORIES (2), MILLWOOD TILLY (3), ALE ALE KAI (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

LENNY THE LEGEND (6) has placed at his past in succession, the latest when doing his share of early work to find position from gate 5 before holding on for the bronze behind the in-form CHEVRONS REWARD. Using the passing lane when only 1m from MISTER DONALD 2 back, he can look to arrive off the speed.

LITTLE CHANGE (1) settled back in the pack from a 2nd line gate last start and was trying to join in late when not that far from the winner CHEVRONS REWARD. Soon buried away here 2 starts back, he was charging in the closing stages to get within a flared nostril of success. He has the early options to throw down the challenge.

SMOKEY QUARTZ (4) shoots for a hat-trick of victories after successive wins here at the mile. Finding the front before releasing and making the passing lane shot a winner last start, the threepeat is well within reach.

SIR JULIAN (7) hits the triple-7 jackpot landing the outside front line gate for the 3rd spin in succession. Only 4m in arrears of SMOKEY QUARTZ 2 start back, he can be joining in late again.

SELECTIONS: LENNY THE LEGEND (6), LITTLE CHANGE (1), SMOKEY QUARTZ (4), SIR JULIAN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-6-7

RACE NINE

FRANCO HAMPTON (2) completed a threepeat of victories here last Saturday when claiming the Qualifying Final. Sent straight to the front, he was getting weary on the line but held a margin to claim victory. Fitter again after being 2nd up following his heat win, he can look to dictate at a short quote.

KEY LARGO (7) has been in nice touch, but he has no favours from the car park here. Too strong in an easier event 2 starts back when able to grind out a win when racing first over from gate 5, he was worried out of it last start when MISTER DONALD grabbed him on the line. He will chase hard to challenge.

SPEEDY DOMINIC (4) has landed the bronze in 3 of his past 5 starts following a passing lane win here 6 runs back. Closing stoutly behind LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN last week over the 2138m trip, he can be thereabouts again here.

MISSINMEMATE (1) was gunned down over the 2138m here 2 starts back to finish mid-field. Backing up from Thursday at Redcliffe, he lands the right gate to get a slice of the minor money here.

SELECTIONS: FRANCO HAMPTON (2), KEY LARGO (7), SPEEDY DOMINIC (4), MISSINMEMATE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANCO HAMPTON (2) to win
