RACE TWO

MODERN THOUGHT (2) will find this easier than her last start when off the 2nd line and chasing hard when down the line behind JACKS ON THE BEACH. 3 starts back from gate 3 she was sent to the front and was grabbed in the closing stages and from the alley she can look to hold on in front.

KYLIE BROMAC (9) resumes from a spell following a short prep last campaign where she faced the starter on just 4 occasions. A winner from gate 2 in restricted company when resuming she was forced to start from the 2nd line at each of her next 3 starts. With 2 trials to prepare she has claims.

HALF MOON BEACH (3) made the most of his draw over the sprint trip here 2 starts back when leading throughout. Locked away on the pegs last start when down the line he can be sharper here.

MAESTRO MAC (8) resumes from a spell and was seen at the trials back on Dec 18. A beaten fav here 2 starts back, he should get a nice trail through early and has exotic hopes 1st up.

SELECTIONS: MODERN THOUGHT (2), KYLIE BROMAC (9), HALF MOON BEACH (3), MAESTRO MAC (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MODERN THOUGHT (2) to win

RACE THREE

DATSGOOD (5) found the pegs early from gate 3 last start and then made an error and was forced to retire from the event. Banished to the trials she has gained the ticket back to the races and despite the wide gate she can use her early speed and look to turn it around.

WHATA STRIDE (8) was locked away on the pegs here 2 starts back and was making a late charge when finishing 5m from the winner. Unable to find position from gate 3 last start she found herself well back in the pack when trying to chase. Freshened since her last run she has claims here.

SHIMANSHYNE (4) resumes to start her 3YO term following a 2YO season where she started on 10 occasions for a lone placing. Not seen at the trials, she will take benefit from this hot-out.

MISTER FARENHEIT (3) will find this easier than his last outing where he met a much stronger line-up over the AP mile. This is his best gate since resuming and he can be sharper here.

SELECTIONS: DATSGOOD (5), WHATA STRIDE (8), SHIMANSHYNE (4), MISTER FARENHEIT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: DATSGOOD (5) to win

RACE FOUR

RORY MACH (8)
took on this claiming grade last Thursday and was forced to go forward to the breeze which isn’t his best pattern. Knuckling down for the challenge he held on for the bronze when 8m from the winner. His effort was sound on Sat night and saved for 1 shot can arrive here.

TIWANAKU (5) pressed on to the front from gate 5 here last week and once in control was able to bring them home in a tidy closing 800m panel to take the win. A winner of a 2nd division qualifier 4 starts back he can look to roll forward again here and will be in for the fight.

MOTU REAL STYLE (2) took on claiming company at AP 2 starts back and from gate 1 was buried away on the run and hit the line in good order. With good early speed she can be in the mix here.

ITS ALL GO (9) was 1st to the pegs before releasing here last start and then chased all the way when 2nd to TIWANAKU. He has no favours from the 2nd line but can be looking to chime in to the exotics.

SELECTIONS: RORY MACH (8), TIWANAKU (5), MOTU REAL STYLE (2), ITS ALL GO (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (2) will strip fitter following his latest start when resuming from a break. Sent to the breeze from gate 4 he was forced to work in the run and faded out in the latter stages. An all the way winner at his last start of his previous campaign, he can look to bounce back here.

ONE LAST ROLL (1) was returning last start when finding the running line he was trying to work home wide out in the closing stages. Holding on for the bronze from the pocket trail behind SMILINGA ARMADA her 2 starts back, he will get the cosy trip and can be ready to strike.

TAYLOR HOOD (6) has no favours from the wide gate but might just find this a little easier than his 2 starts since arriving in Qld. Only beaten a half-head 1st up he found the 2138m too steep last start and can improve here.

RUTHLESS ARMBRO (8) returns from a spell after a last start 3rd when working in the run to get forward to the breeze from the 2nd line. Following through in the early stages he can place.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR GENERALJUJON (2), ONE LAST ROLL (1), TAYLOR HOOD (6), RUTHLESS ARMBRO (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR GENERALJUJON (2) to win

RACE SIX

MICKEE CULLEN (8)
made the most of the passing lane to dive through for the win here 3 starts back after starting from inside the 2nd line. Working home wide off the track at his next start when claiming the bronze, he can look to settle handy and issue a closing challenge in an open contest.

TAKITIMU EXPRESS (5) was buried away against the markers after looking for the short-cuts from gate 10 here last start. That was his 1st outing in over 5 weeks and he should be taking good benefit from the run where he was hitting the line strongly in the closing stages. He looms as a threat here.

TRAIN WRECK (6) started from this gate last start over the 2040m trip and after snagging back early was able to arrive for the prize. He can do some work in his races which is a bonus and he can chime in here.

HAVANA MOON (4) was taken back from gate 6 in an Aspirational race at AP last start and was too far back to challenge. A passing lane winner here 3 starts back he can be looking to charge late.

SELECTIONS: MICKEE CULLEN (8), TAKITIMU EXPRESS (5), TRAIN WRECK (6), HAVANA MOON (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MICKEE CULLEN (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

BIG BEAT (2) had been landing some bad gates and then struck trouble in the run here 2 starts back but was still strong to the line to finish mid-field. Making the most of gate 1 last start over the sprint trip, he went straight to the front and was never in danger. Pressing on to take control he can take this.

COULDNTBETOLD (1) resumes from a spell and was last seen back in April in a Rising Stars Final when finishing well down the line behind COLT THIRTY ONE. A winner over the sprint trip here 3 starts back, he trialled in good order to prepare and has the options over the long trip 1st up.

ELMS CREEK (9) was taken back from gate 6 last start and was then facing a task trying to work home wide out with a strong tempo being set from the front. He can work home strongly here.

BOB GAGE (8) is after the hat-trick after wins over the 2040m and then the 1780m here last start. Buried on the pegs he was too slick up the passing lane to arrive. He can be thereabouts

SELECTIONS: BIG BEAT (2), COULDNTBETOLD (1), ELMS CREEK (9), BOB GAGE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG BEAT (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

SKYFELLA CAM (1)
went down to the pegs last start from gate 9 in a qualifier at AP and was strong to the line in a slick mile taken by TOMEARA. That followed a good run from gate 11 when hitting the line in good order behind AQUA MISS. With the improved gate he looks to get his chance for a breakthrough.

THE MUSE (7) went straight to the front from gate 2 over the 2280m here last start and taking control as a red figure fav was never in danger in scoring a 9m victory. That followed a tough run when only beaten a neck and she will be coiled and ready to strike when the gaps arrive here.

JAX NAVARO (3) went straight to the front here last start from gate 2 and after a pedestrian opening 800m was able to get home well to land a narrow victory.  He is right in the mix again here.

CELTIC CRUZA (4) settled back in the pack and came with a well-timed run to arrive for the prize here last start over the 2040m trip. Freshened leading into that, he will be tightened from that effort and can feature.

SELECTIONS: SKYFELLA CAM (1), THE MUSE (7), JAX NAVARO (3), CELTIC CRUZA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SKYFELLA CAM (1) to win
