RACE TWO

The 2nd 2YO race of the season in Qld with 4 of the 5 from the 1st race backing up and will be challenged by another 5 ‘babies’. NONE GRATER (2) is a Betterthancheddar gelding on debut for Narissa McMullen and looked good in a recent trial. Following them home and never really asked for an effort, he can show up 1st up.

ONLYSBEST (7) made the most of his trip last week and when angled to the passing lane had bullets to fire in sprinting home to take the prize. With the added experience of the outing coupled with the number of debutants in this race, he can overcome the tough gate.

TORQUE IN CONTROL (5) made an error on debut and under the circumstances returned a nice effort in running on late to grab 3rd. If she can pace all the way, her trials have suggested she can be in the mix.

BAILEYS WITH LEGS (6) is an Artistic Fella filly on debut for Ricky Gordon and has looked a nice type in recent trials. Narrowly beaten at her most recent hit-out, she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: NONE GRATER (2), ONLYSBEST (7), TORQUE IN CONTROL (5), BAILEYS WITH LEGS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: NONE GRATER (2) to win

RACE THREE

CLARRY (2) had an early look form gate 4 on Sat night but with no lead on offer in a sub 27 opening panel secured the 1x1 trail. Racing there throughout he wasn’t shown open road until hitting the home stretch and finding the line in to order when 3m in arrears. This is easier and he gets his chance.

GOTTA MOMENT (5) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts both at the mile. A winner here 4 starts back over this trip when finishing swiftly after securing a soft trip 3 back on the poles, his latest placing was in a sharp mile taken by CARDLESFROMHEAVEN when 2m away. Look for him swooping.

SOLE AMBITION (7) was a smart winner at the mile here 1st up in Qld 2 starts back when doing his share of work in a strong rate. He was just too far back last start and can look for atonement here.

BIG BANG LEONARD (6) sat back in the pack from gate 11 last start and was always facing a task in trying to make up ground from the rear. The smaller field suits and he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: CLARRY (2), GOTTA MOMENT (5), SOLE AMBITION (7), BIG BANG LEONARD (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CLARRY (2) to win

RACE FOUR

IFYOUBELIEVE (2)
added another minor to his tally last start to make it 13 from 16 for the season in the top three and his past 8 in succession. Firing out from gate 3 to take up the lamp lighting duties, he was best of the pack behind the smart winner MUMMYS BOY. This looks within reach.

LEFT A HURRICANE (8) settled in the pocket trail last start and chased hard when best of the rest behind STREET APPEAL. He will need a slice of luck form this gate as he looks set to be buried away early, but with the right trip can force into open space to challenge.

ALL GOOD WALLY (3) has some ordinary number against his name, but he hasn’t been too bad. With good early speed, he can fire out and might even enough create space to tuck in. Look for a sharper effort in this.

OASIS DREAM (10) was sent forward last start and racing tough in the breeze was still in the fight when holding the silver. The 2nd line hurts but he can be in the mix

SELECTIONS: IFYOUBELIEVE (2), LEFT A HURRICANE (8), ALL GOOD WALLY (3), OASIS DREAM (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

STREET APPEAL (2) finding the front over the mile last start and after a 2nd panel breather, was able to ramp the tempo to get home in 55.4 from the front. His run was sound in the Rising Stars Final behind the talented JIGGLE AND JIVE and from the good gate looks to hold all the aces.

OUR FRIEND (1) has faced some tough gates in recent starts, the latest when working home wide off the track from gate 9. Claiming the silver behind TIZ A SIZZLER in a Rising Stars heat from gate 2 when doing his share of work, he will secure the perfect trip here to challenge.

JAMIES BADY BOY (4) is yet to miss the quinella in 6 appearances here at The Creek, the latest when working hard in the breeze and claiming 2nd behind THE CRUISE MISSILE when beaten a neck. He can work in his races and will be in for the fight

WILL THE WIZARD (5) started in red figures last start when leading them up from gate 3 over this trip. Grabbed in the closing stages he held on for the silver. In the money at 4 outings this term, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: STREET APPEAL (2), OUR FRIEND (1), JAMIES BADY BOY (4), WILL THE WIZARD (5)
SUGGESTED BET: STREET APPEAL (2) to win

RACE SIX

CRACKA STRIDE (1) rolled forward from gate 5 last start in a stronger race and was working in the run when forced to cut the breeze prior to fading out. That followed a run when buried away from inside the 2nd line. He has the gate to hold the front here and back to claiming grade gets every chance to capitalise.

COMPLY OR DIE (8) found the step to Sat night company from the 2nd line a little too far last start and will appreciate the return to his bread and butter. Leading them up here 2 starts back, he was grabbed on the wire by the passing lane power of KETUT. With an easy ride, he can take the closing shot.

KETUT (2) secured the perfect trip last start when tucked in the pocket trail and when the passing lane presented, he had the speed to cash-in. He can settle handy again and will be swooping.

THREO (9) is going OK of late and with the chance to drop down to the pegs for a soft run, can be probing for space in the stretch. Within 3m of KETUT 2 starts back, he was far away at Tamworth last start.

SELECTIONS: CRACKA STRIDE (1), COMPLY OR DIE (8), KETUT (2), THREO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CRACKA STRIDE (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

IFOUNDTHEBEACH (1) HAD AN EARLY LK AT Redcliffe last start but as forced to ease back to find position. When needing space, he was locked away and would have been closer if able to break-free sooner. His run 2 back in a qualifier had merit over his less-preferred 2138m and with the options from this gate gets his chance.

THE DOORMAN (4) wasn’t suited on Sat night from the 2nd line yet was strong to the line when 7m in arrears of the winner COLONEL JOY. Only beaten a half-neck 2 starts back, he capitalised when finding the front here 3 starts back with a big 10m victory. He will come out of the gate hard and has claims.

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (7) has the tough gate to negotiate but is in nice touch. In the money at his past 6 in succession, with a pair of wins included, with even luck in transit he can chime in here.

CALLMEDEMARO (5) had been knocking on the door and last start was invited in when finding the front over the 2138m and taking them all the way. This is a step up, but with the right trip is in the mix once again.

SELECTIONS: IFOUNDTHEBEACH (1), THE DOORMAN (4), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (7), CALLMEDEMARO (5)
SUGGESTED BET: IFOUNDTHEBEACH (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

PSYCHEDELIC (1) doesn’t have the greatest numbers to help in recommending his chances, yet his runs have been thereabouts without challenging. From gate 10 last start he was angled to the pegs for the shortcuts and found the line well from a long way back. Settling closer here, he might just make the closing shot a winner.

MAYWYNS BEST (4) started from gate 7 here on Fri night when snagged back early. With the leader able to pinch a 32.3 panel from the 1200 to the 800, it was always going to make it tough for the chasers. Making the play 3-wide, he was strong to the line to be 3m from the winner. With slick early moves, he can find the front and can give this a shake.

SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (9) returns from a freshen and although better suited at the 2138m, he should enjoy a nice run in transit here. Too far back from gate 12 last start, he has podium claims.

CHAPTER ONE (8) will be locked away on the poles here searching for open road to issue a challenge. Only grabbed in the closing strides here 3 starts back, he can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: PSYCHEDELIC (1), MAYWYNS BEST (4), SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (9), CHAPTER ONE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-8-9
