RACE TWO

ELLE JAY (4) has a tricky gate to overcome but she might just have enough pace to take control here and from the front she will take some stitching. Chiming in for the bronze at Kilcoy 2 starts back, not much went her way last start when snagging back to secure position. 3 from 5 here at the track, she can add another.

KID CALVERT (2) burrowed through from gate 1 to hold them wide last start at AP over the mile. Trying to stave off the challengers, he was no match for ILLBEWATCHING who had the cold sit on him throughout. Placed at his past 3 in succession, he will be trying to challenge once again.

MOLLIGUANNA (7) worked hard in the run last start at Kilcoy and was still fighting in the closing stages when not that far from the winner. With well-spaced runs, she is a podium hope in this.

MODERN THOUGHT (8) returns from a spell after being sent to the paddock back in October. Placed in 2 of her 3 starts here at the track, she can be chiming into the money in the latter stages.

SELECTIONS: ELLE JAY (4), KID CALVERT (2), MOLLIGUANNA (7), MODERN THOUGHT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ELLE JAY (4) to win

RACE THREE

The first of 4 Heats of the ever-popular Marburg to Albion Series can see DONNY JONES (3) fire the early bullets to take control. Fighting on gamely for 3rd at The Creek 2 starts back after the lamp lighting duties from gate 5 came at the expense of a sub 27 opening panel, he can look to dictate the tune here.

SCHEU CREEK (2) resumes from a spell and was last seen when mid-field at Redcliffe behind the in-form RUM DELIGHT. His past 2 outings here at Marburg have been off the 2nd line and the return to the front here is a huge plus. Crowned the Marburg Horse of the Year last season, he can throw it down at his return.

KAY NORA SHANNON (7) was a Redcliffe winner 2 starts back when sent to the post as fav and then finishing over the top to score. Working home wide off the track to gran the silver last start, she can be thereabouts again here.

LAVAZZA (8) makes her 1st appearance in Aus for Hayden Barnes, arriving a 3-time winner in NZ. A last start winner at Manawatu over 2500m back in December, she stays under notice here 1st up with no public trials.

SELECTIONS: DONNY JONES (3), SCHEU CREEK (2), KAY NORA SHANNON (7), LAVAZZA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: DONNY JONES (3) to win

RACE FOUR

GLENLEDI CAMMANDER (1) returns from just on 2 years off the scene and has joined the Ryan Veivers barn in the break. Given just 2 starts as an early season 2YO back in 2019, he has trialled twice in readiness for the return. Both trials have been tidy outings and landing this gate 1st up gives him every chance.

GOSLING IN FLIGHT (6) has a smart record here at Marburg, lining up here with 3 wins and a 2nd in 5 outings. Tackling a strong qualifier last start, he looks to get back into this race nicely but has been dealt a blow from this alley. A close 2nd 2 starts back, he will be probing for the gaps to challenge.

KENDYS BUTTERFLY (5) arrives with the Jonah Hutchinson barn with some tidy figures that show a win and 3 minors in 6 career starts as a 2YO. With a sound trial to prepare, she can chime in 1st up for her 3YO term in this.

MONTANA FLASH (3) was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when sent straight to the front and taking them all the way. Kept fresh since his last outing over the AP 2138m trip, he is in the mix in this.

SELECTIONS: GLENLEDI CAMMANDER (1), GOSLING IN FLIGHT (6), KENDYS BUTTERFLY (5), MONTANA FLASH (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENLEDI CAMMANDER (1) to win

RACE FIVE

The 3rd heat will likely be decided in the run to the first turn with a few of these all having a dip for the lamp lighting duties. SEAMARK (3) resumes from a spell and might be the one with enough early firepower to get across and from there would take some stopping. His last start 2nd was a tidy effort against far more experienced rivals and after an easy trial to prepare can strike.

MAKINMEFEELGOOD (4) was working in the run over the Redcliffe sprint trip 2 starts back and while could not reel in the winner, was best of the chasers to hold the silver behind SWEET LOMBO. Finding the front from gate 5 the start prior and powering home to a big victory, he can challenge.

GUTS (2) will be hustling off the arm trying to get to the pegs and his stock will rise if able to keep them wide. It has been a while between drinks, with his last win back in August, but he can be thereabouts.

HIGH ON MONTANA (6) has no favours at all from this alley and will be requiring some luck to get into open space. A tidy 2nd over the AP mile 2 starts back, if he can get into the clear, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: SEAMARK (3), MAKINMEFEELGOOD (4), GUTS (2), HIGH ON MONTANA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SEAMARK (3) to win

RACE SIX

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (2)
is yet to land a win here after 12 attempts, but the bakers dozen might just be the right number for him to strike. Beaten by gate 7 over the AP mile last start when retreating to get to the pegs, he closed in nice order the start prior when grabbing the bronze. He can look to fire the opening shot and is worth a ticket in this line-up.

BRILLIANT ART (5) has the wide get to negotiate but at her 1st look at the track find a race that is not out of reach. Too strong for them last start when rolling the sleeves and putting them away from the breeze, she can get in the action here and look to land another winning blow.

MISTER DECORUM (8) has hit the board in 7 of his 10 starts here at Marburg which include 3 wins. Doing it the tough way last start at Redcliffe, he could not see it out, With even luck he can feature here.

NON PASSARE (4) eased from gate 4 at Redcliffe last start and from back in the pack was not able to get into the contest but was still only 10m in arrears of the winner. With even luck he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (2), BRILLIANT ART (5), MISTER DECORUM (8), NON PASSARE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

The 4th of the Heats for the Marburg to Albion Series where OUR FRIEND (1) can look to make full use of his gate. A previous winner here at the track from 2 attempts, he has good early speed and provided he can get the start right which has been an issue previously, he looks to get every chance to dictate.

JINGLES BROMAC (8) has been in super touch at headquarters in recent outings with his latest win completing a hat-trick of victories. All those wins have been when either leading or working in the breeze. From the 2nd line here, if he can find the chair cheaply, he can look to throw it down.

QUICK STEP (6) will need a slice of luck from this alley and be probing for gaps to make a closing play. Stepping out for the Darrel Graham barn for the 1st time, she arrives with a win 2 starts back and can feature.

SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (7) is a 3-time winner here at the track and last start was aiming for a hat-trick of wins when 8m in arrears of JINGLES BROMAC. The gate does no favours for his winning hopes.

SELECTIONS: OUR FRIEND (1), JINGLES BROMAC (8), QUICK STEP (6), SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR FRIEND (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

GWENDALION (3)
has early speed when asked for it and might just have the right dose to find the pegs first in this. Beaten by gate 6 last start, she was taken to the rear to hope for short-cuts and some luck with neither prevailing. With a field searching for form, she can look to capitalise.

UNDERTHEKILT (1) was pinned down against the poles at Redcliffe 2 starts back when charging home int eh closing stages to grab the silver behind ROCKNROLL DUDE. Locked away again last start as HOT EMBERS landed the prize, if he has the hustle to hold them out, he comes right into calculations.

OLIVER WINKLE (7) has been to the track 3 times this campaign, with each run spaced. Down the line last start behind NEWPORT DREAMZ at The Creek, he can be joining in here.

MISS MIA (5) has no favours from the wide gate but should be tightened from her latest offering when returning from a spell. Tackling a much stronger contest in that, she can feature back to this grade.

SELECTIONS: GWENDALION (3), UNDERTHEKILT (1), OLIVER WINKLE (7), MISS MIA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GWENDALION (3) to win
