RACE TWO

Returning from a freshen after his last start CLASS TO THE MAX (6) can look to kick-off his 3YO term with success. Dead game last start when attacked in front and setting the tempo of a new 2YO track record at Redcliffe when beaten a head. Despite the gate he can arrive.

ROCKNROLL TIMES (4) made a critical error last start and then still asked to grind it out when parked before wilting over the closing stages. A smart winner here the start prior when putting them away down the back stretch, he can look for redemption.

ROCKNHOLME (2) was beaten by gate 7 last start when retreating and then too far back chasing against the tempo. He lands his best gate in recent times to aid his chances.

TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC (7) shoots for the hat-trick after a win to end his 2YO term in late December was followed with an all the way victory at his 3YO return. The gate is the stinger.

SELECTIONS: CLASS TO THE MAX (6), ROCKNROLL TIMES (4), ROCKNHOLME (2), TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CLASS TO THE MAX (6) to win

RACE THREE

He faces a tricky gate to negotiate but if MAYWYN TROUBADOR (8) can find the right space, this is a race that looks to be within reach. Looking to take them all the way last start from gate 1, he led deep into the stretch, only to be collared by AYE AYE CAPTAIN. Just needs that opening.

SHEZ GOT BLING (6) added another minor to her tally after being sent to the post as favourite last start. That was in a mare’s qualifier here on Saturday where she secured the 1x1 trail when finishing 5m in arrears of SUNNY RICE. Runner-up at her past 3 starts, she is in the mix once again.

GOLDEN SAND (7) was taken back to the rear last time out and from back in the field was sound to the line when 7m from the winner. Starting troubles have proven costly of late.

MOTU AMETHYST (2) overcame a long win drought to score here back in November but has been unable to do much since. 4m away to hold 3rd last time, the gate will aid her chances.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (8), SHEZ GOT BLING (6), GOLDEN SAND (7), MOTU AMETHYST (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

EH EF EL (5)
started from outside the 2nd line last start when angled to the poles to look for the short-cuts home as THREE IN HEAVEN carved it out in front. An error ended any chance he had thee start prior and back to this grade, if he can position cheaply, can strike in this open contest.

MAJORDOIT (7) should appreciate a return to this grade after facing a tough battle here on Saturday as GOVERNOR JUJON flexed his muscle in front. Asked to grind it out over the 2138m 2 starts back, he was game in defeat when just a head shy of the prize. He can throw it down again here.

GOODBOY COWBOY (1) started from inside the 2nd line last start when sent out as the fav, but his chances were made harder when unable to hold the leaders back. The gate gives him a hope.

BOHANNAN (8) comes up with the 2nd line options here and can work away from the poles early if required. Wide off the track last start when chasing to be 6m from ARTHUR LOWE, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: EH EF EL (5), MAJORDOIT (7), GOODBOY COWBOY (1), BOHANNAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: EH EF EL (5) to win

RACE FIVE

Settling in the 1x1 trail last start after pressing forward from the start, AYE AYE CAPTAIN (10) was rewarded for his consistency by arriving for the prize. Knocking on the door after finishing runner-up at his previous 3, the gate is not ideal, but this race looks open and he has the form to capitalise.

MISS MIA (2) has placed at her past 6 starts in succession, the latest when asked to do it the tough way when parked at Redcliffe. Finishing 3m in arrears of the winner over the 2040m, it was a brave effort which followed a head deficit to VOODOO FELLA. The gate is a big plus to her chances.

WOODLANDS WONDER (5) pressed on to take control over this trip here 3 starts back and with the right tempo was able to cling on for the prize. He can fire some early bullets again.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (6) has the wide gate to negotiate but does have a tidy record at the middle trip and comes into this with a last start victory when grafting out a gritty win. She can feature again here.

SELECTIONS: AYE AYE CAPTAIN (10), MISS MIA (2), WOODLANDS WONDER (5), SHEZ ALL STYLE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: AYE AYE CAPTAIN (10) to win

RACE SIX

SLIP THE HUNDY (6)
will take good benefit from his Aus debut here last week when running some smart closing panels to grab the bronze behind a dictating MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR. That was his first start since November and despite the sticky alley, he can open his AP account.

BETTOR ROMANCE (1) is a big winner from the draw after facing tough gates in recent time, the latest when retreating from gate 5 and then facing a task against the tempo. With the gate come the options and she should be in the ideal position to make a challenge.

IM JIMMY JAMES (10) started from the ace last start when taking the trail and chasing for 2nd when within 2m of the winner CALL ME KEITH. He has podium claims.

IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (3) was buried in the run last time from inside the 2nd line and never really saw space to challenge. Finishing strongly when just a neck away 3 starts back, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: SLIP THE HUNDY (6), BETTOR ROMANCE (1), IM JIMMY JAMES (10), IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SLIP THE HUNDY (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

OUR BALOU (8)
will be requiring some factors in his favour but if he can spot the gaps and still have momentum, this looks firmly within reach. Eased in the early stages last start before trying to make a closing raid as OHOKA CHOPPER took the short-cuts, his previous start saw him strike trouble. He will be stalking them ready to strike.

HARPS (10) returns from a Tamworth campaign where he finished 4th in 2 appearances after starting from the 2nd line in each. Wide off the track last time in the Golden Guitar Consolation, it was a tidy effort and despite another tough alley can be making a challenge.

DIKERRY (6) is not helped by the tough gate, but he should find this a little easier than what he has been meeting in recent starts. Fading after being asked to sit parked last start, he can feature.

REGULUS (4) has finished at the rear in 2 starts since joining the Battle stable, the latest when fading as CALL ME KEITH claimed the cash. Fitter for the outing, he can be an improver.

SELECTIONS: OUR BALOU (8), HARPS (10), DIKERRY (6), REGULUS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR BALOU (8) to win

RACE NINE

Arriving with a smart NZ record that shows 3 wins in 6 starts, AMERICAN OUTLAW (8) faces a tricky gate for his first Aus attempt. A last start winner at Addington back in July, he has been impressive in a pair of trials in readiness for his return. Sweating on the 1 leading, he can strike fresh.

MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (1) made the most of his opportunity from an improved alley last start when taking control early and keeping them chasing to claim a 2m victory. With the alley to hold them wide once again, he gets his chance for the repeat.

CALL ME KEITH (4) fired off the arm last start and once in charge, kept them chasing to score a tidy win over the 2138m trip. A winner from the front 3 starts back, he is right in the fight once again.

VALENCIA (2) struck trouble in a Golden Guitar heat that ended his chances 3 starts back before placing at his past 2 on the Tamworth circuit. From the gate he can firs some early bullets.

SELECTIONS: AMERICAN OUTLAW (8), MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (1), CALL ME KEITH (4), VALENCIA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: AMERICAN OUTLAW (8) to win
