Racing Queensland advises that the Gold Coast Turf Club race meeting tomorrow, Saturday, February 26, has been transferred to the the Sunshine Coast Turf Club Polytrack.

The transfer comes as a result of a track inspection which deemed Aquis Park unsuitable for racing, following heavy rainfall this week.

The transfer of the meeting has necessitated changes to some of the distances on the program. They are:

  • Race 1 – was 900m, is now 1000m;
  • Race 2 – was 1800m, is now 2000m;
  • Race 3 – was 1200m, is now 1100m; and
  • Race 6 – was 1300m, is now 1400m

The transfer has also resulted in an adjustment to the starting limits for Races 4, 5 and 7 from 14 to 12 horses.

Trainers should note that in accordance with RQ protocol (and wagering service operator requirements), any scratchings made prior to the race meeting being transferred are unable to be reinstated.

There will also be no fees applicable for scratchings made at the meeting, irrespective of the time they were transacted.

The updated race fields will be available this afternoon on the Racing Australia and RQ websites.

Participants with engagements at the race meeting have also been advised via SMS.
