RACE TWO

LAUGHING EMOJI (8) has mixed numbers in recent starts but her most recent 2 outings can be forgiven where she has drawn wide as a result of poor barrier manners. A passing lane winner in a stronger race 3 starts back, she got it all wrong at her next outing. Following a good beginner, she can look to make the closing shot a winner.

TRUNKEY DIGGER (10) is racing in consistent fashion and has now been in the money at 7 of her past 8 appearances. Last start from the pocket trail she chased gamely to grab the silver behind GOTTA MOMENT which followed a nice effort from gate 6 at Redcliffe. The gate hurts but back to mares only company is a plus.

VICTREE MIKAYLA (1) resumes from a spell and has opened the pipes in a recent trial that has already produced 2 winners. She found ISLAND BANNER a little too slick last start and 2 back was only collared in the closing stages.

ARTFUL MAID (2) was buried away in the run last start from an inside 2nd line gate and never really saw the space to issue a challenge. Working home in good order the start prior over the 2138m, she has podium claims here.

SELECTIONS: LAUGHING EMOJI (8), TRUNKEY DIGGER (10), VICTREE MIKAYLA (1), ARTFUL MAID (2)
SUGGESTED BET: LAUGHING EMOJI (8) to win

RACE THREE

HARD TO HEAR (11) has another tough gate to negotiate but he has been racing well without any reward for the effort in recent outings. He found the line in good order last start after retreating form gate 6 and the start prior was strong late behind BALLACHULISH. He will need some factors in his favour here, but is worth a ticket.

DAPPER (3) was a winner over this trip 5 runs back when settling in the 1x1 trail from the 2nd line and packing too much power to claim a smart win. Tough in the breeze last start when 3m in arrears of the winner TULHURST SANTANNA, he can settle handy from the good gate to make his challenge.

LITTLE BOLT (8) wasn’t suited from gate 11 last start when trying to chase and will be better positioned here with a cheap run against the poles. Runner-up at Redcliffe 2 starts back from an inside run, he will be probing for the gaps here.

CELTIC CRUZA (4) will take further benefit from his latest appearance when 2nd up from a freshen. Hustling hard to protect the inside advantage, he went down swinging when 4m in arrears. He can grind it out here.

SELECTIONS: HARD TO HEAR (11), DAPPER (3), LITTLE BOLT (8), CELTIC CRUZA (4)
SUGGESTED BET: HARD TO HEAR (11) each-way

RACE FOUR

ROCK WITH SAM (4)
will be nearing a fitness peak following 3 runs back from spell. 2nd up at the mile he was charging home to be under 2m from the winner CLINTAL DO. His run last week was super from gate 7 when restraining early and then charging home late in sizzling splits as BODHI TREE dictated in front. This looks his chance.

INNOCENT CROCKER (1) has also had 3 runs back from a spell and lands the options from the peg-line here. Striking trouble in the run last start, it was a nice effort to finish not far away and with a nice closing sprint when saved, will be coiled and ready to take the snipers shot here.

TULHURST ACE (3) was snagged back from gate 6 last start and once he was back in the pack was never going to feature as the 54.5 set from the front ended the chasers hopes. He can press forward here for a sharper return.

DREAM TO SHARE (8) took every blade of grass up the stretch to arrive last start at Kilcoy after settling a long way off the speed. With options as the lone 2nd line runner, he can find cheap position and be utilising his closing power to feature.

SELECTIONS: ROCK WITH SAM (4), INNOCENT CROCKER (1), TULHURST ACE (3), DREAM TO SHARE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK WITH SAM (4) to win

RACE FIVE

He lands the ace and with his best work looking to be when saved for a closing attack, TIN ROOF RAIDER (1) should secure the ideal run in transit to take the final shot. Starting in red figures last start, he was too powerful late in setting a new career benchmark which followed a slashing 2nd from the clouds when charging home. He looks to get the favours.

SABRAGE (4) has great speed out of the machine and can look to capitalise on that here. Lighting the lamps from the six-hole last start, it was TIN ROOF RAIDER that swept on by as the expense of a sub 27 opening panel took its toll. Nabbed by BEE GEES BANDIT the start prior, he will be gripping on.

OUR MAJOR DAY (8) looks set to be buried away in transit from this gate, the same scenario that he faced last start. Grabbed late after setting a strong tempo in the Redcliffe Christmas Cup, he will be probing for the gaps here.

SIR JULIAN (11) was taken off the arm from gate 7 last start to look for luck when attacking the line in the closing stages. Charging home to grab the silver behind BIG BANG LEONARD the start prior from this same gate, he can be finishing hard.

SELECTIONS: TIN ROOF RAIDER (1), SABRAGE (4), OUR MAJOR DAY (8), SIR JULIAN (11)
SUGGESTED BET: TIN ROOF RAIDER (1) to win

RACE SIX

EMPIRE BAY (10) was out the back looking for a cart home in the DJA Final where nothing from back in the pack made any ground wide out. Pushed 4-wide the last 400m, he was the widest runner and never looked set to eat into the margin. His 2nd round heat was a big effort and he can bounce back hard.

ANY OLD WAY (4) will be further tightened from his latest outing when 3rd up from a 12-month break. Working hard in the run in the DJA final, he was brave after being forced to roll the sleeves. Placed in both rounds of heats, he can press forward here to give this a big shake.

QUIETLY SPOKEN (7) grabbed the silver last start and may have been closer with a clearer passage when 4m from the winner. Finishing over the top 3 starts back, she will be right in the fight here.

OUR OVERANOVA (11) stuck to the inside off his 40m tape in the DJA final and was really the only runner to make ground from the rear. With his impeccable record, he can never be discounted.

SELECTIONS: EMPIRE BAY (10), ANY OLD WAY (4), QUIETLY SPOKEN (7), OUR OVERANOVA (11)
SUGGESTED BET: EMPIRE BAY (10) to win

RACE SEVEN

ZAHVEN BANNER (2) lands the perfect gate to complement his power running pattern and looks set to be free-wheeling in front off a cheap lead. Forced to do plenty of work in the run last start, he was game when denied by a head margin behind DANCE FOR GLORY. Looks a case of catch me if you can.

TULHURST SANTANNA (1) pressed ahead to find the front last start and once in control kept the tempo up throughout to land a career PB. Runner-up at his previous 2 attempts, the writing was on the wall for the win and with the cosy run on offer can look to take the closing shot.

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (9) returns from a spell and faces a tough ask 1st up from the 2nd line. Opening the pipes with a pair of solid trials, he will take great benefit from his outing here.

TYGAR (6) was a well-supported fav last time out and eased back off gate 6 was never in the contest. Fighting hard for the bronze the start prior, limiting the early burn here can see him chime in late.

SELECTIONS: ZAHVEN BANNER (2), TULHURST SANTANNA (1), SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (9), TYGAR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ZAHVEN BANNER (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

RACE EIGHT

BIG BANG LEONARD (3) has been a revelation since arriving in Qld and should really be lining up for 5 wins in succession here. A tragedy beaten 4 starts back, he has atoned for that defeat victories at his next 3, albeit the latest when sharing the spoils in a dead-heat victory. Back to the claimers he looks too sharp.

CRACKA STRIDE (1) has been kept fresh since his last start victory when he packed too many guns in the closing stages after racing in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line. A tough winner 3 starts back when pressing to the front and dictating, he can look to set the tempo here.

KETUT (7) doesn’t have any favours from outside the front line, but his best work is done when sprinting late. Sliding across heels to find position, with a hot tempo look for him swooping.

IMA TOP TYCOON (6) drops back to claiming company after a last start mid-field finish when buried away behind BODHI TREE. Putting together successive wins here 3 starts back, he is right in this.

SELECTIONS: BIG BANG LEONARD (3), CRACKA STRIDE (1), KETUT (7), IMA TOP TYCOON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG BANG LEONARD (3) to win
