RACE TWO

RUN BOY RUN (1) lands his best gate since arriving in Qld and with good speed out of the machine can look to dictate. A winner over the 2138m here 2 starts back when leading throughout from gate 4, his effort had merit last start when snagging back from gate 7. Off the ace, he gets every chance.

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (5) was after a hat-trick last start after successive Redcliffe wins at 1780m. Landing gate 6 he retreated early to find position before working home in good order to be 3m in arrears of the winner. Strong in front 2 starts back, he can settle handy here and is in the mix.

RUTHLESS ARMBRO (4) was a long way back in the pack last start from gate 11 when working home in good order behind JUST SEDUCE ME. Luckless when not far from FAME ASSURED the start prior, the improved gate helps.

SPEEDIE MCARDLE (2) was a winner from this gate over the 2138m 5 starts back after finding the pocket trail. He has been sound without really getting conditions to suit since, but has place claims.

SELECTIONS: RUN BOY RUN (1), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (5), RUTHLESS ARMBRO (4), SPEEDIE MCARDLE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: RUN BOY RUN (1) to win

RACE THREE

GETOUTNWALK (1) angled to the pegs from gate 10 here last start to look for the cheap runs and found the line in good order to be 9m from the winner JUST SEDUCE ME. Luckless the start prior when stuck wide early, her run 3 starts back was strong. From the gate she can take the snipers shot.

BRADS LUCK (3) was good in defeat here last Friday when doing the heavy lifting in the breeze he was then nabbed up the passing lane. On Tues he found the line nicely from gate 11 when only 3m from the all-the-way winner WITHALOTOFLUCK. Limiting the early burn, he can challenge hard here.

LISA LINCOLN (2) had to dig in for the fight at Redcliffe last start when cutting the breeze from gate 5 and then getting within a head of victory. From this gate she can pounce on the pegs and will be gripping on.

WITH AUTHORITY (6) doesn’t receive any favours from a tricky gate, but he should take further improvement from his latest start when 3rd up from a break. Finding early position will be key to his chances.

SELECTIONS: GETOUTNWALK (1), BRADS LUCK (3), LISA LINCOLN (2), WITH AUTHORITY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GETOUTNWALK (1) to win

RACE FOUR

SCHOUTEN ISLAND (5)
transfers to Team Frisby and has been knocking on the door with placings in 4 of his past 5 AP appearances. Locked away on the pegs last start he found the line well to be 8m from the winner in a slick closing panel. Beaten a lip in a qualifier 3 starts back, he looks the test.

LUCKY LYLA (2) has been unable to land a marble in recent starts and should appreciate starting from the two-hole in this. Tough from the breeze in a mares qualifier 3 starts back when 3m from the winner, she can settle handy and look to capitalise on the good alley.

CC JONES (7) has been in the money at 4 of his past 5 starts, the latest when arriving in time to claim victory over the 2138m from gate 10. Only beaten a hair the start prior, he has claims despite the 7.

TRAIN WRECK (9) made the most of gate 3 and the mile here last week and taking control was able to open them in 27.7 and bring them home in 27.5 for a 2m margin. With even luck he has claims.

SELECTIONS: SCHOUTEN ISLAND (5), LUCKY LYLA (2), CC JONES (7), TRAIN WRECK (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

IM WITH LEXY (2) was a winner here 5 starts back when using the passing lane to arrive for a narrow victory over the 2138m trip. Her follow up run in a mares qualifier was full of merit when 5m off the winner and her latest run behind SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW was also good. This is within reach.

AINTNOBETTOR (3) was a passing lane winner here 5 starts back when arriving for victory over the 2138m. In the 4 runs since that win, he hasn’t really had conditions to suit, the latest offering when buried back in the pack on the pegs at Redcliffe. With even luck, he can throw down a challenge.

TASSINI (1) did plenty of work in the run last start over the Redcliffe sprint trip and faded late under the workload. Forget her start 2 back when making an error, from the gate she can chime in here.

INVITE ONLY (7) faces another horror gate and will be relying on some luck in transit here. Chasing home against a strong tempo 2 starts back, she found the line nicely last time and can chime in.

SELECTIONS: IM WITH LEXY (2), AINTNOBETTOR (3), TASSINI (1), INVITE ONLY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: IM WITH LEXY (2) to win

RACE SIX

After taking on stronger opponents than she will meet here, CHARLYSE (4) looks well positioned to breakthrough for a deserved win. Snagging back from gate 7 last start, her closing panels were strong when mid-field behind SOMEWHEREOVARAINBOW in a qualifier. This looks within reach.

SHADOW HUNTER (7) doesn’t have any favours from this alley but he was good last time over the 2138m behind IN THE PAPER. He found the Derby Bound MAKE WAY a little too smart 2 starts back, while he was tough from the breeze when winning 3 starts back. Will be rolling the sleeves in this.

WEE JIMMY (12) took on a 2280m stand last start at Redcliffe when pressing ahead in the early stages. Fighting on to place, he has been in the money his past 3 and can be thereabouts again.

WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (6) didn’t have much luck when trying to find position last start and after restraining early, then came around them again. The gate hurts but he can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: CHARLYSE (4), SHADOW HUNTER (7), WEE JIMMY (12), WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CHARLYSE (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

THE BIG SHOW (2) caught the eye here last week at his 1st AP outing after settling back in the pack from a 2nd line gate. Attacking the line strongly, his closing sectionals were strong over the 2138m to grab the bronze when within 2m of the winner. Settling closer from this gate he can capitalise.

ARCACHON (8) hasn’t been far away since returning to Qld for her Winter campaign, hitting the line in good style to grab 3rd behind subsequent winner ITZ MY GENERATION last time out. Tough from the breeze 2 starts back when within 3.5m, if she can sight space with momentum, she can feature.

GOTTA MOMENT (3) had to do plenty of work in the run last start at Redcliffe and under the load faded in the closing stages. Game in chasing LIFES BLACK the start prior, he is in the mix in this.

MISTER DIAMOND (6) made the most of the speed and tempo being set up front here last time out when arriving in time for a tidy win. Finding position without getting too far back are key to his chances.

SELECTIONS: THE BIG SHOW (2), ARCACHON (8), GOTTA MOMENT (3), MISTER DIAMOND (6)
SUGGESTED BET: THE BIG SHOW (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

CASINO TOMMY (5)
was snagged back last time over the 2138m trip and attacked the line strongly when making his run to be 2m from the winner ONE WISE MAN. A claiming winner over the 2138m 3 starts back when too strong from the breeze, he looks to get his chance in this line-up.

BIG BRUCE (7) steps into the claiming ranks after winning a Band 5 contest just 3 starts back. Going straight to the front from ate 4 over the mile in that, once in control, he put the bite on them to score narrowly. He did his share of early work last start when fading late but can bounce back here.

COMPLY OR DIE (4) was fast out of the Hilux here last start over the 2138m and setting a solid tempo couldn’t see it out. Always preferring the mile, look for further improvement here.

CROWNING GLORY (3) was locked away last start after starting from inside the 2nd line and never worked into the contest. Given no peace in front here 2 starts back, he can be around the mark.

SELECTIONS: CASINO TOMMY (5), BIG BRUCE (7), COMPLY OR DIE (4), CROWNING GLORY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CASINO TOMMY (5) to win

RACE NINE

While it is a bit too ask a 1st starter to take on some very experienced campaigners, there was plenty to like about the trial of GAME SET MAJOR (4) to suggest he can go well in this. A well-bred 3YO out of the handy race mare Daniela Hantuchova, he looks to have his share of ability.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (2) has now had 4 runs back from a beak and will start from his best gate since returning. Forced to be running on from back in the pack at his past couple, 3 back he wasn’t far away behind IM NO OUTLAW. Doing his best work when able to get forward, he can be sharper.

MISS BLUE GLORY (3) will appreciate this grade of contest after facing the SE and Qld Oaks at her past 2 starts. Snagged back from gate 6 last start, it was always a task and she can be thereabouts.

ARES (1) ran home in good order last time out from gate 4 to finish mid-field behind LIVING GRAND. A tough winner from the breeze here 5 starts back, he can enjoy the perfect trip here.

SELECTIONS: GAME SET MAJOR (4), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (2), MISS BLUE GLORY (3), ARES (1)
SUGGESTED BET:
