RACE TWO

LIFES BLACK (2) was a big winner here 2 starts back when sent on a forward mission from the 2nd line to take control and keep the power on throughout, breaking a long-standing record for 3YO’s over the 1780m in the process. This will be a big drop from his latest run in the JC McMullen and he can return to the triangle with a bang.

BROADWATER (9) has placed at his past 2 starts, the latest when finding the line in some handy closing sectionals behind the all-the-way-winner BURNING AMBITION. 2 starts back he chased gamely in a strong mile behind RANDOM TASK to grab the silver and despite the gate is in this.

MIRACLE SMILE (7) makes his Qld debut for Mark McNee and will be having his 1st race appearance in over 12 months. Sharpened with 2 trials to prepare and with a soft trip 1st up, he can chime in.

PITTSWORTH MAN (1) found the line in good style last start and wasn’t far away. The start prior over the AP 2138m trip he was mid-field and with a cosy trip on offer here is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LIFES BLACK (2), MIRACLE SMILE (7), BROADWATER (9), PITTSWORTH MAN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFES BLACK (2) to win

RACE THREE

Put a line through the hopes of BRIGHTON PRINCE (2) from his latest outing when his race ended at the 500m after locking wheels. 2 starts back he took on a stronger AP 2YO event when back in the pack and trying to chase. His run 3 starts back was solid off the 2nd line and this looks his chance.

SIR BULSKI (5) had his hopes ended in the same contact as BRIGHTON PRINCE, with the pair coming to a near stop. That was his 1st look at the triangle with his previous starts at AP enough to suggest that a 2YO win isn’t too far away when conditions suit. Finding the line nicely 3 starts back, he is in the mix.

MAYWYNS JEWEL (8) returns from a break after her 1st racing campaign returned a lone placing in 5 outings. Her latest run came when down the line behind PELOSI and she stays under notice here.

ART EGO (9) will take some benefit from his latest outing when returning from a break, he made an error and ended his chances. Needing a slice of luck from this alley, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: BRIGHTON PRINCE (2), SIR BULSKI (5), MAYWYNS JEWEL (8), ART EGO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BRIGHTON PRINCE (2) to win

RACE FOUR

ELMAUR JOY (5)
finds the right type of race to return to some wining form and despite the wide gate can arrive for the prize in this. Her latest effort was full of merit from gate 6 when making a 3-wide move a lap out when 8m in arrears of the winner, following a half-head 2nd at AP. This looks ideal.

FLYING WINGARD (6) speared out from gate 6 over the AP mile last start when looking to take them all the way, fading in the closing stages to finish 5m from the winner. Only 3m away in a sharp run when grabbed by WE SALUTE YOU 2 starts back, he will give this a shake.

MIRACLESDOAPPEN (8) pressed ahead from gate 6 last start to find the front and was nabbed in the closing strides by KISS CAM. The gate hurts but there should be some good tempo up front.

STUDLEIGH WILL (3) was locked away on the pegs last start when mid-field which had followed a tough effort when facing the breeze and only beaten 4m. Settling handy, he can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: ELMAUR JOY (5), FLYING WINGARD (6), MIRACLESDOAPPEN (8), STUDLEIGH WILL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ELMAUR JOY (5) to win

RACE FIVE

STUDLEIGH STRIDE (1) is going better than his numbers suggest and should appreciate this class of contest after what he has been facing of late. Forget his last start when buried away too far back, his run 2 back was similar when probing for openings but closed out in good order. This looks his chance.

RITCHIE BEE (6) has the tough gate to negotiate, but will find this class of opponent a step down from what he has been meeting. Only 6m from TAXI METER last start, the start prior he found the line soundly in a slog fest over the AP 2138m. Finding position cheaply will be the key to his hopes.

SPORTS STORY (4) will take further benefit from her latest outing when 2nd up from a break. Hitting the line strongly from back in the pack, she was only a half-neck off the winner and is in the mix.

SNAKES N LADDERS (3) didn’t have much luck last start from gate 10 over the sprint trip and went to the line looking for space. His previous 2 were both sound performances and he isn’t far away.

SELECTIONS: STUDLEIGH STRIDE (1), RITCHIE BEE (6), SPORTS STORY (4), SNAKES N LADDERS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: STUDLEIGH STRIDE (1) to win

RACE SIX

ZARAS ALL GOOD (9)
lands the tough gate, yet she has been meeting stronger opponents than she squares off against here. Leading them up and only grabbed in the closing stages in a good mile 2 starts back, her latest start was full of merit behind ALLABOUTDREAMS. This looks hers to claim.

MONTANA EXPRESS (10) will be further tightened from his latest appearance when 3rd up from a break. Settling back in the pack, he was finding the line in good style to grab the silver. With the right trip in the closing stages, he can look to throw down the challenge.

NO ESCAPE (3) was lighting the lamps last start over the AP 2138m and the pressure appeared too much as she faded out. This looks a more suitable target and from this alley can be sharper.

GIGANTIC JASPER (1) has had 2 runs back from a break and been dealt some tough barriers in each, the latest from gate 5. With the improved gate he gets his chance to fill the minors.

SELECTIONS: ZARAS ALL GOOD (9), MONTANA EXPRESS (10), NO ESCAPE (3), GIGANTIC JASPER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ZARAS ALL GOOD (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

In a tricky Band 5 event where the conditions see a field looking to recapture winning form, SWEET AS CANDY (3) has been good in 2 runs back from a break and with an improved gate is worth a ticket. Mid-field in a stronger race claimed by MAFUTA VAUTIN last start, her return run was a nice effort and this looks within reach.

TOP TRIO (6) claimed a conditioned event 4 starts back when finishing over the top from a pegs position after the speed and pressure up front opened it up for the chasers. His next run at Redcliffe was a tidy effort behind OUR WALL STREET WOLF and despite the gate he is right in the fight.

LOCHINVER (7) landed the pocket trail last week and chased home gamely when 7m from the winner. Buried away against the pegs the start prior, he will need some luck but can flash home.

COMIGAL (5) was snagged back early from this same gate last time out and with the leader making it near impossible for the chasers, it was always going to be a battle. With even luck she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: SWEET AS CANDY (3), TOP TRIO (6), LOCHINVER (7), COMIGAL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SWEET AS CANDY (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

DYNAMIC DEEJAY (5)
worked to the front from gate 3 over the 2040m trip last start before taking the trail. Making full use of the passing lane he went within an eyelash of landing the prize. That followed a tough run from gate 7 over the AP mile and despite the gate he might just sneak away with this.

JUSTATIC (7) was a winner over this trip 2 starts back when securing the pocket trail from this same gate and finishing best up the lane to claim the prize. Buried away on the pegs last start he found them a bit sharp. He will need some luck here and be hoping to get to the lane with momentum.

KISS CAM (6) doesn’t receive any favours from the wide gate here and comes into this after a solid run when snagged back early and then finding the line nicely. A winner here 2 back, he is in the mix.

FORTES IN FIDE (2) will strip fitter from his latest start when resuming from a break. Opting for cover from the pole, he was 6.5m from the winner. With another handy alley, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: DYNAMIC DEEJAY (5), JUSTATIC (7), KISS CAM (6), FORTES IN FIDE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-5-6-7

RACE NINE

LISA LINCOLN (5)
took on a mares race last time out and after firing out struck trouble with a break that saw her banished to the trials. Earning her ticket back to the races with a smart trial hit-out, she can overcome gate 5 with her blazing gate speed to take control and dictate in front.

INVITE ONLY (9) was wide off the track last start when trying to make ground as HEZ RAZOR SHARP made in near impossible for the chasers with a sub 56 closing 800m panel. She found the line in good order to grab the bronze. Luckless the start prior on a mares qualifier, she can chime in here.

TROUBLESOME DAVE (10) was the best of the chasers behind the big winner BILL HALEY here 2 starts back and followed that with a nice win here last start. With even luck he is in the mix.

STEVIE DEE (1) started fav here 2 starts back from this same gate when holding on for 3rd behind HEZ RAZOR SHARP. Too far back when retreating from gate 6 last start, she will get a soft trip.

SELECTIONS: LISA LINCOLN (5), INVITE ONLY (9), TROUBLESOME DAVE (10), STEVIE DEE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LISA LINCOLN (5) to win
