RACE TWO

ARBIT MAJOR (8) retreated in the early stages from gate 5 last start prior to working home in nice order to grab the bronze when 6m from the dictating winner ARK ME over the sprint trip. In super consistent form, he looks to get the right spot in transit and with tempo can arrive for the prize.

ONLY IN ROME (3) was forced to snag back from gate 6 over this trip last start to settle back in the pack. When asked for the effort he sprinted home nicely when wide off the track to get within 4m of the winner. In the money his previous 6 in succession, if he can get across them early, he can throw down the challenge.

ASHKII (1) has started from inside the 2nd line at his past 2 starts and looks set to have the options for the cosy trip once again here. 5m in arrears last start, he can be probing for the gaps in this.

ROGER THAT (9) should find this a shade or 2 below what he has been meeting in recent starts, including taking on qualifiers at 2 of his past 3 attempts. The gate stings, but the tempo should suit.

SELECTIONS: ARBIT MAJOR (8), ONLY IN ROME (3), ASHKII (1), ROGER THAT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ARBIT MAJOR (8) to win

RACE THREE

This looks a tricky contest with the early speed and position in running looking keenly contested. With that in mind, TUAPEKA LIGHT (4) might have the versatility to make it 4 successive wins after completing the hat-trick last start when grinding it out from the breeze. She can maintain her perfect record here at the triangle, with another victory.

IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (1) started from gate 9 last start over the middle distance 2040m. settling back in the pack, she was attacking the line in nice order to get within a neck of the winner. Not suited when sent around them early the start prior, she looks set for the perfect trip to challenge.

SHOWEM SIMON (6) was wide off the track when making his challenge last start after landing a 2nd line gate. A close runner-up his previous 2 starts, he might just put some heat into this from the gate.

ROCKNROLL DUDE (3) worked forward to face the breeze last start from gate 4 and when applying the heat through the 3rd quarter, couldn’t quite see it out. He can fire the early shots again and has claims.

SELECTIONS: TUAPEKA LIGHT (4), IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (1), SHOWEM SIMON (6), ROCKNROLL DUDE (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

ALLSTAR SEA (9)
needs to overcome the wide gate, but he might just have found the right race to finally open his Qld account. Locked away 3 back from inside the 2nd line last start, he was searching for the gaps that didn’t arrive in time. That followed 3 successive placed runs and with the right trip, can arrive.

PITTSWORTH MAN (8) was runner-up to the in-form mare TUAPEKA LIGHT here 2 starts back after securing a nice trip in behind the leader. Over the sprint trip last start, he was looking to offer but couldn’t quite pick them up. Relying on some factors, he should get the trip to challenge.

MONTEREY JACK (5) had been knocking on the door after 3 successive placings and that read was justified last start when securing the perfect trip behind the speed and making the closing shot a winner. The gate stings, but he is up to this.

REGAL NIGHTSHADE (3) should be further tightened from his latest start when 3rd up from a break. Fading after doing it tough outside the leader, the 2040m is the query, but if he can pinch a panel in front, a placing is attainable.

SELECTIONS: ALLSTAR SEA (9), PITTSWORTH MAN (8), MONTEREY JACK (5), REGAL NIGHTSHADE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ALLSTAR SEA (9) each-way

RACE FIVE

MORESCO (2)
started her Northern sojourn in fine style here last week when starting a short-priced elect over this trip and taking them all the way to score a sharp win. That had followed a sound effort at Menangle when finishing mid-field after doing some work. From the gate she can go again.

MADAMOISELLE JUJON (3) has put together a handy record thus far in her career, missing a cheque just once in 9 career appearances. Returning from a 12-month break with a nice effort for 2nd to MUCHO GUAPA, she franked that with a s strong win here last start. She might need to roll the sleeves but can throw it down.

MISS CATALINA (1) does not win out of turn, however when conditions suit, she is never far from the action. The cosy trip will be ideal from this gate after coming from a long way back in recent starts and she can be ready to snipe in the stretch.

DAPPER BESSIE (9) added another minor to her tally last start to take her figures to 3 wins and 2 minors in 6 outings for the term. The wide gate is a stinger, but she can be swooping into the money.

SELECTIONS: MORESCO (2), MADAMOISELLE JUJON (3), MISS CATALINA (1), DAPPER BESSIE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-9

RACE SIX

BETTOR SPORT (8) takes his 1st look at the Triangle after 2 starts at The Creek since arriving in Qld. Sent to the post as fav last start from the 2nd line over the mile, he was 4m in arrears of the winner SNOOP STRIDE. Tough in the breeze when 1st up behind A RAINBOW DELIGHT, he strikes a winnable contest.

CAPITALIZE (1) will take further benefit from his latest start where he was stepping out for the 2nd time after a 15-month layoff. Working home with a trail wide off the track, he was strong to the line when within 1.5m of the winner MADAMOISELLE JUJON. From the ace, he certainly can capitalize.

SEEKING AMNESTY (7) was having her 1st Qld start here last week when striking trouble in the run that saw her race ended. With a cosy trip in behind the speed, she can be ready to strike late.

PRINCE JOY (5) has landed in the money at 3 of his past 5 starts, the latest when closing in good order to grab the silver behind MEGA STAR. The wide gate hurts, but he is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR SPORT (8), CAPITALIZE (1), SEEKING AMNESTY (7), PRINCE JOY (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

FORBIDDEN FEELINGS (5) rolled forward from the four-hole here 2 starts back over this trip where there was an even tempo throughout. With bullets to fire, he cruised home to a gritty 9m victory. Not entirely suited form the 2nd line last start, he chased gamely for the silver behind MORESCO. The gate stings, but he can take hold of this.

BLACKJEWEL (1) was not too far from the winner last start when doing some early work prior to cover arriving, finishing within 5m of the winner. Too far back the start prior after retreating from gate 5, she will be hoping to get to the passing lane with some momentum to challenge.

TAUMALOLO (8) is the latest member of the Scott Hewitt team to step out in Qld. A Menangle winner 3 starts back when finishing best to score, he can be chiming in late to feature here.

SCHNAPPSHOT (7) will be relying on some luck here as she looks in danger of being buried in the run. Her effort had merit when 1st up in Qld last start when forced to retreat to find position and she will be probing for the space.

SELECTIONS: FORBIDDEN FEELINGS (5), BLACKJEWEL (1), TAUMALOLO (8), SCHNAPPSHOT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: FORBIDDEN FEELINGS (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

There has been a few of these races in recent weeks where horses struggling for form are meeting over the 2040m, making it all the tougher. A consistent performer in recent outings, MELTON LUCKY (4) night just be able to land the loot here after 3 successive placings. Striking trouble and blundering last start, he regathered to chase and still grab 3rd. He is worth a chance.

ARMA AUGUSTUS (7) comes out of the same race as MELTON LUCKY where he was forced 5-wide at the 450m mark and just too wide around the last turns to eat into the deficit. Buried away on the pegs at his 1st Qld appearance 2 starts back, he will need a slice of luck, but can look to challenge.

CARIBBEAN ROCKET (3) has placed at his past 2 outings as he moves closer to a long overdue victory. Releasing the speed last start, he was sound to the line when 3rd and is a podium chance again.

IM SANDY BAY (6) has placed in 4 of 9 appearances at the middle distance and although needing to work or move around them at some point, has some podium hopes in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: MELTON LUCKY (4), ARMA AUGUSTUS (7), CARIBBEAN ROCKET (3), IM SANDY BAY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MELTON LUCKY (4) to win

RACE NINE

PORTSEA PRINCE (2) had an early season start back in March when landing gate 7 and striking some trouble in the run, was down the line and showing he needed more time. Sent for a break, he returned here last week from gate 9 where a flat tyre hampered his chances. With his 1st good gate, he can open his account.

LOVE YOUR WORK (5) was a winner here 4 starts back from gate 6 when finding the pocket trail and then using the passing lane to land the loot. Freshened following his next run, he should appreciate the return to this grade after tackling stronger contests at his past 2. He has claims despite the gate.

JOY MAKER (9) claimed a maiden breaking win here 2 starts back when leading throughout from gate 1 to land a narrow victory. Not much went right last start and she can be chiming in late here.

TACTFILLY MIRACLE (1) is yet to land a blow in 5 career starts, yet from the inside gate can look to secure a nice run in transit. Coming from back in the pack her past couple, she is a place chance.

SELECTIONS: PORTSEA PRINCE (2), LOVE YOUR WORK (5), JOY MAKER (9), TACTFILLY MIRACLE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: PORTSEA PRINCE (2) to win
