RACE TWO

THE CROUPIER (1) has exhibited some handy form here at “The Creek” since joining the Ricky Thurlow stable. Whilst in New South Wales the six-years-old had a handy record and a slick 1.50.9 mile rating beside his name. Keen to forgive the run two starts ago and given the effort when victorious here ten days ago, he can go back-to-back.

CLASSIE AMERICAN (3) showed some really nice speed out of the gate at Redcliffe last time out to lead and win in an easier race. He probably won't find the front like he did last time in this race but can run a sneaky race with cover.

JUST ROKIN (8) is drawn to be at the back of the speed and will get every chance following a handy one. The last few starts have resulted in not many cheques but is going better than form reads.

EH EF EL (9) produced a really nice run from back in the field to score here at AP two starts ago from a trailing draw and will be running home at the end again here.

SELECTIONS: THE CROUPIER (1), CLASSIE AMERICAN (3), JUST ROKIN (8), EH EF EL (9)

SUGGESTED BET: THE CROUPIER (1) to win

RACE THREE

Despite being drawn inside the second line THE GROGFATHER (8) looks well placed here again. The Warrawee Needy three-years-old is prepared by New South Wales based John Boserio. He normally likes to get out in front and dictate, as he has done in two of his three Queensland starts; which have resulted in a narrow defeat in sub 1.53 and a comprehensive victory in sub 1.54. The only query is will he be behind the speed or three back the fence.

EL AGUILA (4) is shaping up to be unbeaten on Queensland soil after recording two stylish victories at Marburg and this track and distance. Another Scott Hewitt prepared visitor, he poses as the main threat to these depending on how the all important start pans out.

FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1) has had the four starts at AP for the Cernovskis barn and has finally drawn a nice alley. The gelding struck bother here at the latest attempt and still managed to produce a nice effort into second placing behind TARGARYEN and if all things go his way in this assignment he'll be on the speed and making his presence felt.

Another border-hopper, OAXACAN DREAM (9), into Queensland for Leonard Cain has produced three really nice tough efforts here at AP and will be going forward to apply the acid here.

SELECTIONS: THE GROGFATHER (8), EL AGUILA (4), FOUR STARZZZ FORSA (1), OAXACAN DREAM (9)

SUGGESTED BET: THE GROGFATHER (8) each way.

RACE FOUR

New Zealand pacer TOMMY LINCOLN (2) was an impressive Albion Park winner at his first look in midweek grade a fortnight ago in 1.53.8. The win was full of upside and he did it super-easy from the same draw as this. The run last start was fair, beaten seven metres after working up from the second row draw in Saturday night class. He comes up with a few handy ones against him here but the draw and the drop from Metropolitan grade to Friday night should counteract.

YOHA (4) scored in some really nice races by some really nice margins whilst in Newcastle. The four-years-old daughter of Terror To Love is now prepared by Stephen Cini here in Queensland and is another dropping from Saturday night grade.

The Bernie Hewitt trained CRAZY SHIPPO (5) is having his first look at Albion Park and possesses some handy Bathurst form including a tough win from back in the field last time out.

JENDEN STRIKE (6) has showed some nice form from similar draws in Saturday night Mares Qualifying races and can fill a slot here again.

SELECTIONS: TOMMY LINCOLN (2), YOHA (4), CRAZY SHIPPO (5), JENDEN STRIKE (6)

SUGGESTED BET: TOMMY LINCOLN (2) to win

RACE FIVE

The son of Art Major, MAJOR LESTER (5), looks one of the main hopes here. He is a six times winner from forty starts from Grant Dixon including back-to-back victories here from similar gates. On both occasions he was able to spear through at the start and lead them.  Nothing went right last time around and he can bounce back here.

NICKS PICK (2) is a very honest pacer for the Garrard stable and won here in a slightly easier race last time around. The son of Changeover is a go forward type that should lead these up initially and be up on the speed for a long way.

THE GENERAL (1) couldn't quite get across last time out and was still tough enough to clock in third here a fortnight ago. The Belinda McCarthy trained gelding comes up with a better draw here and the start is the key.

A new addition to the Trent Dawson stable, YEP GOT CHOOKS (7), is a really speedy pacer who scored in two heats of the Trot Rods series at Redcliffe. The draw is not ideal to use his gate speed but with some form of luck he can fill a place.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR LESTER (5), NICKS PICK (2), THE GENERAL (1), YEP GOT CHOOKS (7)

SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR LESTER (5) & NICKS PICK (2) quinella, THE GENERAL (1) place

RACE SIX

TWO TIMES BETTOR (10) being a 100 rater is the class runner of the field. The Belinda McCarthy trained five-years-old mare has been contesting Band races on a Saturday night here with success. The win as a dominant favourite at “The Creek” three ago was tough, she circled forward to lead them and raced clear in nice time. Expect her to be put into the race at some stage and prove too tough.

HELGART (3) put in a fair effort when down the track eighth here in the Queensland debut performance for Matt Craven but the starts prior in Victoria were nice. She has a handy win strike rate and will be going forward.

FAIRY TINKABELL (5) is one from one at Albion Park which was last time out after leading them up and is drawn to go forward to near the top again here.

ARMA NAUGHTY (6) produced a nice sprint to score here last time out for the Hewitt barn.

SELECTIONS: TWO TIMES BETTOR (10), HELGART (3),  FAIRY TINKABELL (5), ARMA NAUGHTY (6)

SUGGESTED BET: TWO TIMES BETTOR (10) to win

RACE SEVEN

A very open race where the field all have claims.

BETA JEWEL (10) has had three starts here in Queensland this campaign, yet to win but can break through in this race. After getting shuffled along way back in the Redcliffe Oaks the Captaintrecherous filly  made ground to be beaten eleven metres into fourth.

LAMANDIER (8) is having his first start at AP and brings some nice cards to the table.  The Matthew Craven prepared juvenile has some handy Victorian form as credentials and has proved versatile. He has a nice trailing draw and should sprint hard at the finish.

SKIPPYS DELIGHT (1) is yet to win on Australian soil but comes up with the plum alley to get every chance here.  The former New Zealander has nice provincial form in NSW and comes up with the best draw for some time and should make maximum use of it.

HOT N GOLD (5) proved to be very tough at her maiden win at Newcastle in March and her Queensland starts since have echoed that. The Belinda McCarthy trained pacer comes up with an awkward marble again but is amongst the chances.

SELECTIONS: BETA JEWEL (10), LAMANDIER (8), SKIPPYS DELIGHT (1), HOT N GOLD (5)

SUGGESTED BET: Open race, tick field in the quaddie

RACE EIGHT

TUAKANA (2) has been a great addition to the Narissa McMullen stable since heading north in May. The son of Bettors Delight has missed the top few just twice here but wasn't disgraced in either of those. He is a go forward type and is expected to set the pace over this distance, albeit he is rising in journey but is superbly drawn.

ALBERIO (1) is likely to gain a nice trail at the back of the speed in this assignment and is likely to benefit from the experience his only start here at AP behind TUAKANA ten days ago.

ATOMIC BOMBSHELL (8) was heavily supported when she won here in similar grade a fortnight ago. She did draw the front on that occasion and was able to lead, unfortunately she has the back line to contend with here but she is likely to produce a nice run along the fence.

BEE A BLESSING (9) has really turned the corner the last four starts and can sneak a place with the right run after winning here in nice time recently.

SELECTIONS: TUAKANA (2), ALBERIO (1), ATOMIC BOMBSHELL (8), BEE A BLESSING (9)

SUGGESTED BET: TUAKANA (2) to win

RACE NINE

Former New Zealand pacer LEITHEN BURN (1) is now under the care of Kelli Dawson and will obtain benefit from the tough Queensland debut performance and the inside gate. Jumping as the $2.2 favourite on that occasion produced a really tough effort to go down only five metres into fifth at his first start since crossing the ditch. Will be more acclimatised now and expect a bold showing.

BARIKA (4) is another former NZ pacer who displayed some tough qualities at its only Australian race start which was here at AP when 4th behind GET READY TO ROCK, when first up since September 20'. A go forward type likely to be on the speed she should present as a leading contender.

QUICK STEP (10) is absolutely flying for the Darrel Graham stable, having won four from the last six attempts. She is yet to win at Albion Park from four attempts, but has placed two.

IMA BIRUBI BOY (9) is in career best form and is aiming for the hat-trick of victories after winning both the last two, this track and distance. Drawn off pace today however.

SELECTIONS: LEITHEN BURN (1), BARIKA (4), QUICK STEP (10), IMA BIRUBI BOY (9)

SUGGESTED BET: 1-4-9-10 exotics

RACE TEN

JUST CALL ME MOLLY (10) has clashed with MAJESTIC SPEED the most recent two attempts, resulting in being the runner up on both occasions. The start prior she galloped and did a good job to beat a few home. Looks the horse to beat here.

IMA CALVERT ROSE (11) is coming off the same forms lines of JUST CALL ME MOLLY the most recent three, being beaten by her in two after scoring here three back. One of the threats.

HURRIKANE SPIRIT (2) One of the front line hopes which can roll forward at the start. Did things wrong when victorious here two back over this trip and has since placed. Place claims.

HATTIE (9) hasn't had much luck since joining the John Cremin stable. A former Victorian who has had the three Queensland starts and figured in the stewards report in two, despite that has looked okay. Can place again here if things go right.

SELECTIONS: JUST CALL ME MOLLY (10), IMA CALVERT ROSE (11), HURRIKANE SPIRIT (2), HATTIE (9)

SUGGESTED BET: JUST CALL ME MOLLY (10) to win
