RACE TWO

This race looks to be wide open with any number of chances. Settling with BAMBOLE NERE (8) on top after some handy performances of late that have been better than the return suggests. Stuck behind a tiring runner last start, she just didn’t get momentum. Look for her to bounce back here.

LIGHTHORSE (2) has a solitary win to his name since arriving in Qld back in March of 2017, yet he does possess some early speed and might just be able to muster enough to find the pegs 1st here. If that scenario can eventuate, his stock will rise and able to dictate might just be able to grip on.

WAVEDANCER (7) will need a slice of luck from this gate, yet if the gaps were to open in time, he can be charging home. Forced to work home from back in the pack in recent starts, he can chime in here.

MOLLIGUANNA (1) looks set to get a nice run in transit here and looking for the gaps in the stretch has claims for a minor. Not suited last start when working in the breeze, the gate helps in this.

SELECTIONS: BAMBOLE NERE (8), LIGHTHORSE (2), WAVEDANCER (7), MOLLIGUANNA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BAMBOLE NERE (8) to win

RACE THREE

KOTARE KASAI (8) has been sharper in recent outings and with even luck in transit, can overturn a winless streak dating back over 16 months. Lighting the lamps from gate 1 last start in a steady tempo, she was grabbed late by DATITUDE. Not far off the winner 2 starts back, she gets her chance.

MONTANA EXPRESS (10) resumes from a break without a public trial to prepare. Meeting stronger opponents than he will face here prior to his break, he found the closing tempo too slick last start when snagging back from gate 6 behind the LEFT A TERROR. If forward enough, this is within reach.

TOTAL DELIRIUM (2) will take good benefit from his latest outing when resuming from a break at Marburg. Settling in the trail from inside the 2nd line he was locked away when 2nd. He is in the mix.

ITS YOU NOT ME (7) did his share of work in the early stages last start and chased gamely when 3rd over the AP mile behind ARES. With a soft trip he can be probing for the gaps in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: KOTARE KASAI (8), MONTANA EXPRESS (10), TOTAL DELIRIUM (2), ITS YOU NOT ME (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

MAJORDOIT (5)
doesn’t receive any favours from this alley, yet has been meeting some handy performers in stronger races in recent starts. He found the line in good order from gate 12 over the AP sprint trip 2 starts back and last start took on a qualifier taken out by CLARRY. With even luck he can arrive.

GOODTIME SLATER (10) makes his Qld debut and will be resuming from a break for Gary Vernon. 2 starts back he was in for the fight when facing the breeze at Menangle and at his latest start found the tempo too sharp when down the line behind PERSIMMON. He can chime in here.

COLOMBIAN GOLD (4) led them up last start from gate 1 at Marburg and setting a smart tempo with a strong closing 800m, was grabbed right on the line, beaten a neck. She is right in the fight in this.

THREE MUGS IN (7) worked home well to grab an Albion Park win 5 starts back and since that win has landed some tough gates. Only beaten a half-neck in a strong run 2 back, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: MAJORDOIT (5), GOODTIME SLATER (10), COLOMBIAN GOLD (4), THREE MUGS IN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJORDOIT (5) to win

RACE FIVE

HALLY GUINEVERE (5) was a winner at her racetrack debut back in early April when leading throughout to claim a 4m victory. In the 5 starts since that 1st outing, she has been taking on much stronger opponents than she will line up against here and despite the gate, she can make it 2 from 7.

LA BELLE CHEVAL (8) made the most of conditions to find the front from the two-hole and dictate to score a 9m victory over this trip 3 starts back. Finding them a bit sharp at her past 2 starts, she can find the right trail here and look to issue a challenge.

MOLLY MONTANA (6) receives no favours from the wide gate here, but is the only runner in the race to boast multiple wins. Gunned down at Marburg 2 starts back, this will be easier than her last start.

TORQUE TO THE MAX (7) used the passing lane when not far from the winner 2 starts back at AP. Left a bit flat footed when the sprint went on last start, she can chime in with the soft trip.

SELECTIONS: HALLY GUINEVERE (5), LA BELLE CHEVAL (8), MOLLY MONTANA (6), TORQUE TO THE MAX (7)
SUGGESTED BET: HALLY GUINEVERE (5) to win

RACE SIX

A tough race to assess in terms of stand start experience with none of the 8 runners having tasted success from the tapes. Putting LIFES BLACK (4) on top as he should only have to get the start close to right to prove too classy. On the back-up from Thurs, he will be fitter after 2 runs back from a break and looks hard to stop.

SHEZA GALVINATOR (2) makes her debut from the tapes, as do 3 other runners in this. Safely away in a qualifying trial, she did everything right and was cleanly into stride when just behind LIFES BLACK. Stripping fitter following 1 run back from a break, she can settle handy to challenge.

ELZBOY (1) has just the 1 attempt from the tapes, yet from position 1, if he can be into stride without trouble, he will get the right trip. Charging home to score her 2 starts back, he is in the mix.

GETINANHANGON (7) faces a tricky spot with a full line in front of him at the start. His form has been sound of late and if able to avoid trouble in the early stages, he can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: LIFES BLACK (4), SHEZA GALVINATOR (2), ELZBOY (1), GETINANHANGON (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFES BLACK (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

JUST JOSHIN (8) used inside runs to claim 3rd in a Gold Pot Final 3 starts back and just found them a bit sharp in the final when forced to snag back from gate 5. A winner here on Wed night when sent to the breeze and proving too smart. Despite the 2nd line he can make it a double in the week.

COBBLER LANE (3) has placed in both starts since arriving in Qld with the Warren Hinze barn. He worked home from back in the pack to find the line in good style last time out over the AP mile and after starting from the 2nd line in both local starts, will appreciate moving to the front here.

CALL ME TRISH (9) attacked the line strongly last start when 7m from the winner STUDLEIGH SONNY to grab the silver. Still looking for a maiden-breaking win, she has placed in 8 of her past 10 starts.

BETTOR BECAUSE (5) is in consistent form with a top-3 at her past 5 in succession. Closing out strongly on Wed night when only 4m from the top 3YO TROJAN BANNER, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: JUST JOSHIN (8), COBBLER LANE (3), CALL ME TRISH (9), BETTOR BECAUSE (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

CHANCELESS CENTURY (1)
has placed in 3 f his 6 career starts as he looks for the maiden breaking success. Too far back from gate 9 last time out behind DE VOYAGE, he found them too hot in a Gold Pot heat 2 starts back. With the benefit of the ace gate, he looks set to get every chance here.

VALIANT GEM (6) lines up for the Ronny Sallis barn after featuring in a stable switch. He lands another tough gate after facing gates 6 or 10 at his past 3 in succession. 4m from the winner here 3 starts back in a similar race when pressing forward, he can be in the mix again here.

REGALIA (7) made a mess of the start last time out and was never a factor thereafter. Buried in the run 2 starts back, he will get a cosy trip here and can offer a challenge when the gaps present.

NEVASANO (2) wasn’t suited when working in the run last start and faded out under the work-load. Settling in a handy spot, she can be sharper limiting the work in the run.

SELECTIONS: CHANCELESS CENTURY (1), VALIANT GEM (6), REGALIA (7), NEVASANO (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CHANCELESS CENTURY (1) to win
