RACE TWO

MONTANA CHIEF (10) started from this same gate last time out and settling well back in the pack, was hitting the line strongly in the closing stages. A nice winner on the grass at Kilcoy 2 starts back, his 2nd here 3 back was full of merit. With even luck in transit, he looks to strike a winnable race.

WEASEL (1) was driven forward from gate 5 last start and was tough from the breeze when fighting hard to finish 8m from the passing lane winner OUR DELIGHT. A winner here 5 starts back, he will need to hustle hard to protect the inside line, but if able to do so, will be in for the grind.

DAPPER (7) doenst have much numerical form to recommend, but his efforts have been a bit better than the returns, with some poor barriers thrown in as well. With a soft trip here, look for him chiming in.

DEADLY ROCKER (4) hit the line in good order behind KEY LARGO at AP 3 starts back when 8m in arrears after starting from gate 6. With a forgive run at his latest outing, look for a bounce back here.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA CHIEF (10), WEASEL (1), DAPPER (7), DEADLY ROCKER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA CHIEF (10) to win

RACE THREE

PASS THE SPEIGHTS (7) was 1st up from a spell and having his 1st Qld start when locked away on the pegs here from this same gate. Hitting the line strongly he was 5m from the winner to claim the silver. Trialling in good order for his 1st up assignment, he will strip fitter and can arrive for the prize.

SHEZA GALVINATOR (1) will be tightened from her latest outing when resuming from a break. Snagged back early from gate 5, she was too far back to challenge, yet was hitting the line in good order in the closing stages. With good speed off the arm, she can look to dictate here.

HEAVENS HURRICANE (5) finished best to claim victory over the 2040m 2 starts back and followed that with a tough effort from the breeze when 9m from the winner ELMS CREEK. He is in the mix.

TOPNOTCH MACH (10) is a Redcliffe maiden after 13 appearances and will need some factors in his favour to overcome that in this. With the right run in transit, he can be swooping home late to place.

SELECTIONS: PASS THE SPEIGHTS (7), SHEZA GALVINATOR (1), HEAVENS HURRICANE (5), TOPNOTCH MACH (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

LAUGHING EMOJI (2)
was sent to the post as fav here last start when having her 1st outing on the triangle. Starting from the 2nd line, she settled back in the pack to finish mid-field, finding the line soundly. Still after what is turning out to be an elusive Qld victory, she gets every chance here.

GUTS (8) is racing well and last start from gate 6 snagged back early before finding the line strongly to be within 9m of the winner. 2 starts back from gate 9 he was right in the fight and went within a flared nostril of the win. Trailing through in the early stages to settle handy, he is right in the fight.

JUST TOMMY (10) started from inside the 2nd line last start and sent to the post as fav soon found himself in bother when buried away. Finding the line strongly to be 3m in arrears in a nice effort, he can be swooping hard here.

SHERIFF JUJON (3) should appreciate a return to the front line after his past 2 have been from 2nd line draws. Chalking up career start 50 in this, he can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LAUGHING EMOJI (2), GUTS (8), JUST TOMMY (10), SHERIFF JUJON (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LAUGHING EMOJI (2) to win

RACE FIVE

SPONDOOLEY (7) will need plenty of favours in transit here, but with his sharp closing sprint and pattern of diving into the passing lane, he might just be able to sneak away with this. He worked home well 2 starts back when within 2m of the winner and if the tempo is right, he can arrive.

BIG IN AMERICA (3) wasn’t suited last start from the 2nd line and under the circumstances returned a tidy effort to finish mid-field when 10m from the winner. She went too hard in front 2 starts back and 3 back fought gamely behind MAJOR CURRENCY. From the front she can give some cheek.

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (4) had little luck last tie out when probing for an opening that didn’t arrive and only finishing 4m from the winner. Fitter from the run after being 2nd up from a break, he has claims.

THE HARLEM HAMMER (10) can look to find early position and with plenty of front-line speed and pressure, will be ready to take the closing shot. Only falling a neck short last start, she can’t be ignored.

SELECTIONS: SPONDOOLEY (7), BIG IN AMERICA (3), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (4), THE HARLEM HAMMER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HARLEM HAMMER (10) each-way

RACE SIX

FEELINGFORARAINBOW (7)
is in superb touch and while he will need some factors in his favour from this alley, he can be ready to take the closing shot. Shooting for a hat-trick of wins last start, he was charging home in the stretch to run TROJAN BANNER to half-head. This looks within reach.

IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (10) started from gate 9 last start and settling back in the pack, worked home wide out in good order to grab the bronze behind BETTOR BECAUSE. That followed a tough run when fading after working hard and freshened since her last run has some claims in this.

LETS DIG IT (5) led them up last start from gate 2 over the 2040m and after an even opening 800m of the last mile, ramped the tempo to a 28 sec 3rd panel that was his undoing. The gate hurts.

ITZ MAJOR LOOK (8) returns from a spell and was last seen when not locked away on the pegs at Marburg when down the line behind ESCALERA. Only beaten 2m at AP 2 starts back, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: FEELINGFORARAINBOW (7), IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (10), LETS DIG IT (5), ITZ MAJOR LOOK (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FEELINGFORARAINBOW (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

LOVELAINE (3) resumed from a spell the best way possible last start when going straight to the front from gate 2 and taking them all the way to claim a comfortable 5m victory. Her form prior to the spell had seen her return some solid performances without landing a win. From the gate she can go back-to-back.

JIGGLE AND JIVE (2) was a winner on debut when finishing over the top to claim a nice win, with the form out of that race holding up well. Starting from gate 11 in the Breeders Classic, she attacked the line strongly from the rear to grab 2nd behind AMAYA BECOMES. She resumes here without a trial.

FOND MEMORIES (4) returns from a freshen after her last appearance in early may when beaten from gate 7 as the fav. A tough winner 2nd up from the breeze, she won’t be far away here.

TOANUI SPIRIT (9) continues to search for what appears an elusive Qld victory. Last start she didn’t have the cleanest run in transit and 2 runs back chased hard behind GOVERNOR JUJON.

SELECTIONS: LOVELAINE (3), JIGGLE AND JIVE (2), FOND MEMORIES (4), TOANUI SPIRIT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: LOVELAINE (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

With a dominant performance at her Qld debut, RUNNING FREE (3) could not have been any more impressive in victory when taking a 10m winning margin. Stepping cleanly, she went straight to the front and was never in danger, keeping them chasing. With a strong record, she looks too smart.

DAY TOURER (9) started from a 40m handicap last time out and sticking to the pegs looking for the short-cuts chased home to hold on for the bronze behind RUNNING FREE. He will move 10m closer this time around and with his good manners can lead the chase.

MISTER OZ (11) was sent to the breeze last start and with RUNNING FREE setting a solid tempo in front, he faded late under the pressure. Placed at his previous 4 in succession, he won’t be far away.

EL SWAVO (6) meets the fav 40m better than their last outing which will help in his search for a minor place cheque. Not often seen at Redcliffe, he gets in this race nicely and is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: RUNNING FREE (3), DAY TOURER (9), MISTER OZ (11), EL SWAVO (6)
SUGGESTED BET: RUNNING FREE (3) to win

RACE NINE

WECANONLYHOPE (2)
finds the right conditions here after some tough draws in recent starts. Last time out she settled back in the pack from gate 4 and was left a bit flat when the sprint went on. Her run from gate 9 over the 2040m 2 starts back had merit and in a wide-open event can cash-in here.

LAZY BLAZE (6) isn’t afforded any favours from the wide gate, yet if he can somehow manage to settle handy and limit the early burn, this is the type of race that will suit. Working in the breeze last start he couldn’t finish it off and 2 back at Marburg, made an error in the run. He has claims.

MODERN THOUGHT (4) angled to the poles last start to look for the short-cuts and held on to finish mid-field. That followed 2 successive runs from gate 6 and with an improved alley can feature.

LADY ELL AYE (9) will strip fitter following her latest start when resuming from a spell. Buried away on the pegs in the run, she worked home well enough to suggest she can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: WECANONLYHOPE (2), LAZY BLAZE (6), MODERN THOUGHT (4), LADY ELL AYE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: WECANONLYHOPE (2) to win
